We are two close friends that have trained together for almost 10 years.
We created this channel to provide simple self defence videos that are practical and easy to use.
The videos reflect how we train. No flashy techniques, no nonsense. Just simple self defence that keeps us safe.
Ryan is an International Protective Security Advisor, operating all over the world including in hostile environments. He has extensive training and operational experience in protective security and personal safety. He has years of experience in martial arts and self defence.
Raúl has many years experience in training and coaching a variety of martial arts and self defence systems and is also a certified British Boxing Board of Control Professional Boxing Coach.
We are definitely not martial arts experts, jedis or senseis. This is a good thing - because it means that everything we demonstrate in our videos, you can easily do to!
A better technique is to NOT LET IT escalate in the first place so you don’t NEED TO “de-escalate” it. WHEN the would-be attacker is close enough to you such as in this video, you are already AT your attacker’s mercy. Real estate is the best self-defense! Put plenty of it between you and your would-be attacker and the threat diminishes exponentially! But arm yourself and train to use it/them in case that you need to use them.
This is Good Life Saving Teaching just what ive Noticed where 20s 40s or 50-65s if you are built..Wight training (Body Building) No One will Pick YouEspesialy in the Summer Time..Shert off on a hot day or Baech
As a lifelong martial artist I feel very confident against most people in a fight. But I also realize how badly I could get hurt against a younger, stronger person. Best strategy is avoidance, and de escalation. Because strength and physicality decline gradually in people who are lifelong trainers, they sometimes don’t notice how much weaker and more fragile they’ve become. Imagine losing just one percent of your strength per year starting at 40. That’s a 20% decline by the time you’re 60. Significant. And most people who don’t train lose significantly more strength per year. I’ve kept weight training journals for the past 20 years. When I look back to what I could lift, even 10 years ago to now, it’s startling.
Word, I'm 50 and some of my mates still think they are a king, I tell them, I work with young ones and they are fast faster then us oldies, I see the same in lifting as you too.
Great video. I'm 78 and in fairly good shape from going to the gym regularly, but I'm not that big and this is something that has started to concern me lately. I'm fairly strong for my age but I doubt I'd be able to last more than a minute in any kind of a fight against a younger, bigger, stronger attacker. The de-escalation recommendations were good.
Very good guys. I’m 64 , fitter and bigger the most of my age. I’ve always kept myself fit and did martial arts when I was younger. I’ve even thought about getting back into it! However I know I’m poorly matched against many motivated younger guys. In theses increasingly violent times I found this video very helpful. Keep it up!
You guys are absolute magic! What a fabulous demonstration! Always makes me amused when we see these so called "toughies" walking up to someone with their arms and hands spread to the sides and just inviting the opening punch or knee or kick! Love this and you should go around clubs and demonstrate these wonderful and at times very amusing self protection moves! Well done!
I broke my elbow at start of year ,I'm 48 did fair bit of wing chun over the years but lost so much power after breaking elbow ,so tennis elbow I know about, yes getting old means you can not chase punches
Good training this lads, i come from a boxing back ground and then went on to street defence training (like what you show here) I can say this kind of training works, I have got myself out of many confrontations by talking and de-escalating the situations I’ve been in, when I was competing (boxing) the only thing I knew was to strike (and fast) yes it won my confrontations but it’s dangerous, I’m nearly 55 now with many niggling injuries, calming the situation down is the way to go, sometimes that’s not enough though (although that’s rare) talking to them (to take their mind of the situation) works every time, then palm strike is often enough to see it finished
So why do you keep going on about drunk homeless people attacking you? They have it hard enough as it is without being stereotyped like this and let's face it, theres far worse out there on the streets than drunk homeless people
@@stewarthenson7558 because in 2 occasions they assault me... I am proud I handle the situation without physical or legal damages to any of us. *I am a Social Worker by trade by the way, and I do understand and know that homelessness is one of the worst things a human has to endure. But if I am assaulted, what do you want me to do?
Raul is seriously underestimating what a "school" is.... We are a bunch of misfits punching each other in a basement😂 we don't advertise either as we do it more for fun than any profit. But if you'd like to train with us you're more than welcome to, just get in touch and we can arrange something👍🏻
I love the use of attention breakers and the use of words to shift someones mind out of pattern. I went to a training session once called verbal judo, it covered a lot of this type of stuff. As an older man (63) who did a lot of judo but is now slow and soft😂, i use verbal judo now instead. A big thing you mentioned is to swallow your pride, get your ego back in it's box, and think intelligently as you work the situation. If you want to prove you are tough, join a boxing gym or get onto a judo mat. On the street its about avoiding first, then possibly surviving. (Although with a little practice its not that hard to reach into many young mens heads and drive them like a puppet. Us old blokes have been doing that for millennia!😊)
These are almost identical techniques to what Fiore Dei Liberi taught in the 1300s/1400s in his manual. Goes to show that good techniques are always relevant.
@sinkhole777 Are you familiar with people? We're people. At least I am. You can pretend that you came from some primordial soup and magically became a monkey, which then magically became a man. Or, you can realize that there is a God that created all things. Please don't tell me science proves otherwise. That lie is getting old.
@jimdrummer816 oh, it was God was it? Is that the God that exterminated every man, woman and child in Sodom and Gomorrah, every single one, because some of them were doing bad shit? Sorry dude, I don't want to live in a world controlled by that childish, psychopathic being even if they are all powerful!
My dad would definitely love this video. Thank you so much for doing content that is helpful for everyone🥺this can be helpful for females like me as well
@@Clemen_tine1997Thanks Clementine😁Show him and let us know if he finds it helpful! And tell him hi from us. Cheers again for watching and for engaging with us👍🏻
Age is not in the equatiln, jo foreman was world champion at 50 so was mohamid ali in boxing. 2nd dont wait to be hit, get in first, thats what they teach in military. If you wait for tbe. To strike damage may be done. Best be aware of your souroundings, and dont put yourself in bad situation in first place, may be better advice. Take up a form of martial arts, may be good idea, to give confidence.
Thank you for these videos. Im 71,average health, 6 foot and 240 lbs. Dont know how effective I would be against an agressive attacker but you have instilled some confidence in me. As a last resort I always bring my friend with me everywhere. His name is "Glock".
Thanks so much for watching and engaging with us. I'm really happy that you found this video useful. If there's anything else you'd like us to cover, please just get in touch and let us know? Give our best to your pal Glock👋🏻😂
5.15 mins, control his mind and you control him. A trained sniper will always tell the negotiator to engage the target in conversation before he makes the shot. The brain cannot do two things at the same time. Good video.
I agree, you need to have a fence up and create distance. If you are touching someone to de escalate you are in range and can get knocked out or stabbed plus you won't see the second or third attacker because you are too close to the man in front.
AT 64, IF AN APOLOGY FAILS, IT'S NUCLEAR KRAV MAGA(MAKE AGING GREAT AGAIN). I'VE GOT A BLAST OF 5-6MINS ENERGY, DUE TO PHYSICAL LIMITATIONS. UNKNOWINGLY, BOTH OF YOU HAVE A SUBLIME ADVANTAGE. YOUR ACCENTS, ARE NOBLE ENGLISH, WHILE MINE IS PLAIN AMERICAN ENGLISH. Speaking like a non native, can intimdate or pych out ones opponent. An extra tool, for de escalating.
a fight is all about hard points hitting soft points... something metallic on hand turns a hard point to a harder point... every hard point is like a soft point to a harder...as much as I like the ''throat''... hitting every projected hard point with a harder is easier... and easier to explain in a court...
