I had watched Dr Who for 50 years and had no problem with the Dr becoming female thats not what stopped me watching it was when they politicized the show and the storylines became all about wokeness and full of DEI, Dr Who always had political, LGBT and racism stories but they weren't the focus of the stories they were just there and felt natural but when you rub it in the viewer's face and make those things the focus of your show it become boring, dull and uninteresting.
I dont know I found the idea that they re creatours that dont understand matter to be quite terifing. Something so unknown that it doesnt understand the most basic of all things matter
As a whovian and a theme park fan myself I am genuinely wanting to go on this ride. I definitely see the vision you are implying here and I love it! Heck you could create an entire theme park just based on Doctor who itself.
Season 1 is fantastic, so many fantastic stories; Dalek, Fathers Day, the Empty child and the finale particularly stand out but even weaker ones such as the long game have a social commentary that is arguably more relevant today than when it first aired. I rank Season 1 in my top 3 New who seasons,, season 4 is the best but after that it's a toss up between season 1 and 5
Agreed. Tennant got all the female attention and made the show big but neither he, Smith nor Calpadi matched the sheer originality and edginess to the role that Christopher Eccleston did. A crying shame he quit after one season. Him & Billie Piper where the best pairing since Tom Baker & Elizabeth Sladen back in the 1970s
Honestly they could make a whole section of Disney World dedicated to Dr who with how much there is. You could get a portion to maybe craft a sonic screw driver, design a tardis interior, try out some of the alien food, hell you could have a concert dedicated to the beautiful that the likes of Murray Gold has composed, have a gallery of sorts dedicated to the doctors wardrobe as well as other art that we see throughout the show, maybe they could pull a universal and have the sonic screwdrivers actually work on various objects. The possibilities are endless for this honestly.
I had never even beard of doctor who, just threw it on one day. It was the 9th doctor. I enjoyed that show so much more than I ever thought I would. Bad wolf, weeping anfels, are you my mummy? I hated rose at first. Then I fell in love with her. The daleks genuinely scared me. There were so many moments that either freaked me out, made me laugh, made me think, made me scoff at the absurdity or goofiness. I tried giving the other doctors a chance but I just couldn't do it. No hate at all, no shade, but doctor #9 is THE doctor for me.
Dude, this is literally the perfect idea for a Doctor Who ride. As a big Whovian and Disney World fan, I would love love LOVE to see this become a reality. I don't care that it's unlikely, it needs to happen someday.
With out a doubt Jodies performance was 💯 percent brilliant. She brought so much to the show. I really enjoyed watching her. She is beautiful loving funny quick. Amazing women and I give her credit for her as the doctor. ❤
I never skip 9. Not will I ever, I think. Chris' whimsey made 10 and 11 so much more enjoyable, and understandable. And 12's more serious but still funny scenes more relatable. I haven't watched since Peter Capaldi, but yeah. I feel the whimsey of the first 3 doctors. Idk what happened with anything after peter Capaldi (and I really don't care to know) but the parallels are so great. Never skip 9. Or 12
I actually really like the idea of the logo changing whenever we get a new Doctor. Besides I'm not that big on the current logo honestly, i feel like it only works as being the logo for the 60th, but after that they either should have made a new logo entirely or just modified this one like removing the diamond part and keep the logo stacked or horizontal
Well seeing as the Dalek Emperor (Dalek Prime/Golden Emperor) is by a million miles my favourite villain. So this season having an amazing finale for him really seals the deal.
What bothers me with the queer baiting is all the praise it gets is meaningless. Bold and brave isn't how I'd describe a technique been done since 2005. I just have to mention Jack for season 1. Season 2 saw the return of Cassandra, who although introduced in season 1 did so many transitions in this season. I mean, my god. Plus, even if you don't find that funny. She did say she was a little boy. So there's that. Season 3 the Delany sisters "We're not sisters, we're married." Sorry, I'm an old-fashioned cat. Season 4 had that woman who got possessed in Midnight. Season 5 had.... I don't remember season 5. Season 6... had... the fat one and tall one? Was that season 6? Ah who cares. You get my point.
There is only ONE good thing about the Doctor being the timeless child. In case someone competent gets to do new doctor who, we will be able to get more of it because of the doctor keep regenerating
It did take me a little while to accept Jodi, I confess. That wasn't because she was a woman; Michelle Gomez' was the first portrayal of the Master that I've really enjoyed watching. I thought she made him a lot more complex and interesting than pretty much any other actor, including Jeremy Simm. Simm had comedic potential, but his Master was really just vindictive and immature, to me. But I was worried for a while that the whole issue of Jodi being "the first female Doctor" was going to overshadow the producers bothering to get someone who was actually GOOD in the role, or give her good writing. I think Jodi ultimately suffered in the role for the same reason that Peter Capaldi did before her. Namely, that she was a potentially great actress who was hamstrung by bad writing, cringeworthy dialogue, and a general managerial commitment to evangelical Wokeness first, and good science fiction second. At her best, 13 was an audacious, slightly quieter, and more angsty version of 11. The Doctor's trademark alien detachment was very much present with her, which I liked, and which also helped tie her to the previous group. Although the less said about the "Fam," the better. Ryan, I truly don't care about either your dead Mum, or your deadbeat Dad. Kindly go back to EastEnders where you belong, and stay out of my science fiction.
Ecclestone - Tennant - Smith / my most beloved Doctors ever. It was almost a miracle that they came in a row. Smith will always be my No 1, but Tennant-Ecclestone are soooo close behind.
You are still laughing? Well it isn’t like it changed the canon with the Timeless Children. Except that it did. It isn’t like Jodie was written badly. Except that she was. It isn’t like the ratings of Doctor Who went down so much that they decided to bring back David Tenant to bring back the fans only for that to be a big fail too because that didn’t change anything. Except that is what exactly happened. Then making the Doctor black and Gay must have saved the show right? Nope the ratings are tanking even more. Identify politics doesn’t work!! I am a Progressive and I hate this crap.
