GoDownsize.com is all about small spaces, home tours and our personal journey. Maria Storgaard and Morten Storgaard film tiny houses and small apartment spaces, and we interview people about the lifestyle and FREEDOM that follows. We travel around the world to find creative spaces, and we share everything with you right here, as well as on our website: GoDownsize.com.
We love space saving furniture and multi functional chairs, beds, sofas etc like Murphy beds, and we feature all the smartest furniture we can find. We also do projects like the renovation of an old camper and building our own bespoke furniture. We try to put up a video every week, and when it's not about a home it will be about our own downsizing process as a couple.
We LOVE to talk to you, and find out more about what YOU like and what inspires you. If you think we should show your home/house/apartment space here on our channel, just send us an e-mail.
"don't forget the dentist" OOF I felt that :( I also live in Europe and we've got our national health insurance, but it very much doesn't cover like half of dentists' work. I've been paying literal thousands in PLN out of pocket.
I was eyeing Transformer Table and saw the bad reviews too with quality and customer service in Trustpilot. Apparently it blemishes easily. I came across Mobili Fiver and their looks more affordable + from Italy. The leaves are also stored within the legs of the table. They dont have a coffee table and bench though
I just saw the Transformer table and bench at my local Costco today. They travel from Costco to Costco to do special event showings. I was initially impressed and almost pulled the trigger until I started reading online reviews of poor-quality wood and they don't accept returns if warped or scratched. Searching for an alternative led me here. Curious to know how these tables are holding up?
I just would like to add that you should drink it right away or within 30 minutes. The nutrients in the smoothie start to break down fast once it's blended. Fresh is the best.
I've been a builder for many years and have seen quite a fair bit of sheds. The plans in ryan's package ru-vid.comUgkxB7IXYxLzb_Ichhe45zM3Im5xfEiSp9vB have some of the nicest looking sheds i've seen in a while.
Thank you for sharing your journey with us. It has been a pleasure to watch and learn. However, there are a few concerns and questions, if I may. 1) We are social beings and although some time away in solitude is good, long term isolation takes a tole on our mental health. 2) We don't always have to run away from problems, but taking a step back and finding solutions may be a better alternative. With those two things said, I have a possible solution: start small, non-profit, eco-friendly, sustainable, off-grid, permaculture farming villages surrounding each city. Here are a few great examples: 1) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iCGXVk-cBVk.html 2) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-gfCcI6_1iiA.html 3) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-fWYcsfnHfIU.html The village's mission and primary objective is to provide for the poor and vulnerable within the city with food, jobs and environmental education thereby, reducing crime. The villages will offer temporary (no more than one year) housing and work for the homeless and food security for the city. The first step in this project would be to organize a few people interested in it. Then present the plan to the city for approval. There is a lot of govt funding and support for projects like this. I have additional ideas on how to get started and operate the farms, if you are interested. Now is the time to get started before the commercial farms use up all the water again
Hello, I wanted to ask if I could use excerpts from your video about blokarts for a small trailer to be shown at a youth church service. I would be very happy if you would allow me to do that. It's not for commercial use. I would be pleased about a short feedback. Many thanks, Astrid Blume (pastor in Germany, Neuburg)
Multifunctional furniture & accessories is a must nowadays (due to unbelievable housing prices in big cities). I have a similar table (same extending principle) and it's one of my favorite objects in the apartment :)
You have great taste. I love PetiteKnits designs. Their patterns are usually very well-written. You’re a superstar knitting your first sweater in black!😂
That table is awesome. I'll have to see if I can find something like it in Australia. Oh just looked and I can buy them in Australia. Might be the perfect thing for our new apartment.
So good to see your lovely faces again. The house does look lovely. But homes and gardens are SO much work. We should be downsizing at the end of year into an apartment from a large 4 bedroom 2 story home - I can't wait. We are the same only using a few rooms of a big house.
Thank you for these wonderful ideas. I did start giving family passes for the local children's museum to my niece and nephew a few years ago. It has been one of their favorite gifts because it was part of a nationwide group that they could get free admission to with the passes.
Yes:) And I talked about mending it in my newest video.. I still love it, I now have one more and am currently working on 2 more, then I'll have something to mix it up with.. wearing 1-2 sweaters becomes a bit boring haha:)
Love this. It's been a while since I've been back to ur channel. Nice to see you and see that you're still living this beautiful lifestyle. Thanks for the encouragement. I too now get very anxious if I have to buy something, I feel guilty that I haven't taken the time or make the time to see what I have that will work . Thanks. Take care
I heard about transition engineering yesterday for the first time. And it sounds like this is what you're doing with your life. Would be interested to hear if you've heard of this before and if it's impacting your thoughts. Very excited for your new content 🙂
Nice. Here is St Louis (USA) we have a store called House of Denmark. They sell beautiful teak furniture. I actually looked at a table like this about 20 years ago. However when I found out the maintenance for teak wood I walked away. This table seems alot more practical. What a great idea for the bench!
I'm so happy to see both of you! I periodically checked over the years to see if I missed a video. You've made my day! I live in a typical midwestern USA suburb. It's exactly as you said. My husband was born in Germany and lived there till he was 14. (We're married for 44 years) I've been fascinated with the city living you have described for more years than I care to admit. It's just not possible here. You can be proud of yourselves for doing what's in your heart and not adhering to what society says you should be doing. Very much looking forward to seeing you again!!!!
thank you so much Cindy. It’s not always easy in the moment, but oh we enjoy it so much now😊 Hope you get to go to Germany sometimes for a little bike/walk city life😀
