I don't own a blender, I have no intention of buying one either, I was hoping to see what to do with dry fine white crumb i bought from my local tackle shop, I have had a go with it, sparingly damping it, mixed by hand for quite awhile, sieving it threw a pinkies riddle got me very little, forcing through the riddle basiclly buggered it, am no further on and no, I am pushing 80, been an angler for 60 years, thought bread might be a cheap way to go to me keep fishing.

Happy New Year. I live in Skegness but am having trouble finding silvers lakes. Pine-trees small lake used to be great for skimmers, ide, and roach, but I've been told they don't allow non residents to fish it now. Any ideas for other silver lakes near Skeg? Tight lines. Love the videos.

Thanks for the nice comment and happy New Year to you also. There are very few out and out silver fish lakes as carp puddles tend to dominate. Roach Farm on the main road into Skegness tends to fish well for silvers in winter, although there are plenty of carp. Sycamore lakes (although quite expensive) does produce some good Roach on the specimen lake. Once the weather warms up the carp dominate. Sorry can't be of more help.

Yes I've fished roach farm and sycamore and the carp tend to eventually spoil the session. Middle Lake at Faulners has very nice bream but also a lot of line busters. The fishery beneath the two wind vanes I had a huge bag of mixed silvers. I might try there again. That or it's the steeping and drains. I'm off down the steeping after pike/perch first though. Hello, I just wanna ask one. I am just about to falling love with beach fishing, surf fishing, and I`ve read a lot of good things about Skegness Ingoldmells beach and Chapel point. Smoothound and stingrays are in good number, sea bass, cod. I`ve never been in Skegness before, but this weekend I wanna go there to check the fishing opportunities, ask around in the fishing stores. I couldn`t find any info about prices, is it free fishing or day ticket fishery? Or maybe membershift only? Thanks 😉

The sea fishing along all the areas you mentioned are all free fishing. You do however have to pay to park at most of these places. There have been some good smooth hounds coming out, caught on crab, usually at long range casting. The fishing is always hit and miss, but every tide can produce different results. Good luck.

Sounds like you had a great session, very well done. If there are that many fish feeding it may not be necessary to do it too fine, it certainly didn't stop them feeding on your last session, so it seems that was correct for that day. The reason for doing it finer, particularly in winter for smaller fish, is not to feed them too much food that may fill them up quickly.

Not very familiar with fishing around the Sleaford area. I tend to mainly fish the drains along the east coast. Mostly fishing nearer the sea gates seem to hold more fish. These are down trusthorpe, sandilands, chapel st leonards. I will fish the bargate drain in Boston on the Horncastle road just past Pilleys Lane, but this is Boston Angling water and is day/season ticket. It is primarily a small fish tactic catching quickly, so any venue that fits this criteria would be good. WAGs tackle in Skegness, on Roman Bank, usually have a good stock of frozen sea bait. If Ricky serving he will put you right. Chapel Point there is a chap called Dud who sells frozen bait. He lives in the bungalow opposite the car park, easily spotted as he stands fishing rods for sale by his gate Trunch Lane, Chapel St Leonard’s , right at the end Lakeside Tackle usually have a good supply of frozen bait. Squid is as good as anything this time of year, unless you can get fresh peeler crab. Catches have beeen very hit and miss. You will need gripper lead weights to hold bottom most of time. Huttoft is the easiest for parking and beach fishing. Chapel six marshes, North of Chapel point will also usually get you away from the crowds. Most people fish 2 hours either side of high tide, although fish can turn up at any time, or not at all. Good luck.

question from my armchair.... u ever just feed bang in the middle an fish that side of it... this side of it ..and right in it. ? and when its bang on bite a chuck... can ya use synthetic bit of bread save time re baiting hook. ? just wondering like
@eastcoastangler7058
@eastcoastangler7058 3 года назад
It depends how many different lines I feed, but only one will be a bread line. This will then be judged on the length of whip I fish (3m, 3.5m, 4m),as I usually loose feed by hand the punch will be spread a bit anyway. If bites start to slow I will search the swim further out, further down, etc (especially if I have the pole set up), don't give up feeding this same line though as often they are disturbed by pike/perch and can return once these move on.. When it is solid I try a maggot or a pinkie on the hook to save changing hookbait. I have never tried synthetic bread, personally I have no confidence in imitation baits, but that does not mean it doesn't work.

@@pmay222 Definitely on the red letter days, that is the time to try alternative/synthetic baits. My mate Derek Skinner is so skilled at bread punch fishing that he can re-bait with punch and cast quicker than I can fish normally with any bait, but he has really got this method to an art due to fishing it exclusively for many decades throughout the winter.

Would you mix this 50/50 with something like frenzied hemp for river roach?
@eastcoastangler7058
@eastcoastangler7058 3 года назад
Personally I have never tried it, not to saying that is right or wrong. With punch crumb I am trying to make it break down as I want it to, sometimes adding things may "clog" it or it make break down quicker, this is why I add gravel (inert material) to add weight and make it break up nearer the bottom in deeper swims. I do feed hemp as a seed, but do not usually add it to the crumb. Fishing is a lot about what you have confidence in, "if it works for you stick with it".

@eastcoastangler7058
@eastcoastangler7058 3 года назад
Just a personal thing, learnt it from local whip expert Derek Skinner. I find that as our drains/rivers are not too deep and generally not do not have much flow that getting the line below the surface prevents the float being so prone to surface skim. I do use top and bottom floats when the drains are pulling off hard, due to being able to hold the float back and vary the speed the float is running through.

Anderby Creek is not really a recognised fishing mark, Huttoft car terrace or Moggs Eye are about the nearest to it. Fresh peeler crab is always best, although unwashed squid has been catching. Never seen anyone catch on artificial baits, usually best with something with a natural scent. It is Vicarage Lane near the village of Wainfleet St Marys about 100m before it meets Washdike Lane. www.google.co.uk/maps/place/Vicarage+Ln,+Skegness/@53.1047757,0.2227563,468m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m5!3m4!1s0x47d7c315d7c15f6b:0xfee4d7fb212ed075!8m2!3d53.1041509!4d0.2255887 . There are still steps to get down to the river, hope this helps.

Thank you so much for your help. Is this a day ticket water or do I need to join a club ?

It is free fishing, but does tend to get weeded up in the summer months.

Hiya mate great video. We travel to butlins most years , is it worth me taking a rod down with me for the beach around there?

Glad you enjoyed it. There are still fish to be caught in the summer season, but usually not in the numbers there are in the winter. Crabs tend to get through hook baits like fish, squid and lugworm so you will need to keep checking your bait quite frequently. Peeler crab is the best bait, with smoothhounds and odd thornback ray being the bonus fish.

Glad you enjoyed it. The whip is a Daiwa speed whip, I have them in 3m and 4m, they have a carbon flick tip and cost around £30-40. Use a budget one, with the solid tip section removed and elastic fitted, in summer when there is a possibility of hooking a carp
