Great interview but Francesa’s arrogance even then was off the charts. It’s funny listening to this 34 years later. Francesa would be some scout. He saw nothing in Bernie Williams and wanted to trade the farm for John Olerud in 1990 😂
As a 16 year old neutral observer back then I was rooting for the Giants because I liked Parcells. However, in retrospect I wish the Bills had won since this missed fg probably haunts this guy's entire life going forward and the Bills never came close to a winning a Super Bowl after this while the Giants won two more.
@@Hannah-lq2ps that was also payback from a year earlier with charles smith trying to make the shot and 4 bulls were clearly fouling him and the dumb refs didnt call it
Mike's On, he's ready to go On the FAN, NY sports radio Mike's On Mike's On, He'll get you the sports anyway that he can It's Mike Francesa on the FAN!!!!
As the world turns... Bernie Williams still in Double A, and Jim Leyritz coming up to the majors. Little did anyone know his homerun only six years later would start a dynasty. 😀 "They don't want to see ..Jim Leyritz". Lol. and NO way Tony Clark instead of Mattingly, Mike.
Whether was George Stainbrenner or Brian Cashman or the Wilpon’s or any athlete except A-Rod Mike and Dog had the balls to ask tough questions without sounding phony or soft!!
Hmm, that sounds like what Steve Cohen is doing with the New York Mets in 2024. Little did Mike & Mad Dog know at the time, was that by 1993, the young players would start paying off.
George you were one if a kind but you were our Boss real Yankees you restored the glory baseball history cannot be talked about without mention your name Bless you Boss
Tremendous on both ends. George stayed to the end. And, he took heat and stayed calm. Conducted with dignity... I miss all three. I realized only one is deceased. Great radio. Never be another duo as good...
I have an uncle (who wasn’t really family I don’t think, just my grandpas best friend) who I never knew very well, he passed when I was young. All I know is he was a massive bills fan and now my family is too because of him. I like to imagine he probably didn’t sleep for a week after this. I may be a dolphins fan, but I almost wish they made this for him.
I came here to learn about "Bills Wide Right" history. Appearantly it wasn't their first time. Now I understand better, when you need them most they kick wide right 😅😅
