It's true. Football starts on Thursday and ends around 11:30 pm on Monday. Even though Friday and Saturday are excepted, it still feels like a five-day shove. TNF should go (and those London games too). I'm curious how the newly resucitated XFL will affect this.
Love SNF. It's the Thursday games they should have limited. The NFL should have kept the Thursday night games for the second half of the season like they did years ago. No chance of that happening now with the new Amazon deal.
Too many games and frankly, the quality of play is bad. Poor tackling, QBs throwing for 300 almost weekly, it's a joke. It's almost flag football. At least with college, each game is important, one loss can ruin your season.
@@bigtimetimmyjim6486 the NFL is doing better then ever what do you even mean lol. And if we're being honest it's much more compelling and competitive then it was in 2011. And you can argue you don't like the high scoring and rules that help offenses, and i sorta agree, but it was like that just as much in 2011.
@@syzia The last time I looked they weren’t great, down from a few years back. I can’t remember the last time I watched a game Sunday night. Nobody I know watches them. Less is more with the NFL.
It will take a couple of more years and millions more cord cutters. Then, and only then, the TV contract amounts will be reduced and accordingly, the blanket coverage. I lost interest in NFL fifteen years ago. I don’t miss it. Too much!
All of this was said within a 2 minute span by the sports pope: 1. Sunday Night Football is irrelevant due in part to most games not being good. 2. MNF is now irrelevant because a) SNF has better games (see #1 above Mike) b) MNF doesn't have as good a package as SNF (this is the same point above just restated differently Mike)
It’s two main points he making, and they’re really not conflicting. Sunday is bad because viewers have already watched 2 games (not because the teams are bad - they’re not because they can flex). Monday is bad because the teams (which can’t be flexed) are not as good as the (oversaturated) SNF game.
