Glad your back is ok, that's scary. I would encourage you to keep tracking your car if that is what you love, I would suggest getting coached by pro drivers, they make you faster and a safer driver. Not having a fire extinguisher on your track car tells me that you probably have been too relaxed or not aware of how dangerous motorsports are. Also in the financial aspect, for competition you need very deep pockets, going to the limit has its consequences. For these reasons I track my car but avoid competing like time attacks, only in karting or sim I race.
That mesh is how it shouldve came from the factory. A week later one of the cars first trips I smacked a little bird and it sucked up right in the gap. Luckily was a very small bird and didn't cause damage.
Is there any benefit of running wider rims when it's the stock tyre width (245)? Just wider track? I'm thinking of running 255s on a 8.5" to get more rubber on the road. Type R's are running 265 from factory 😭
The newly releaswd Neotech Evo R's would be a good direct alternative to these. Also a bit less expensive. Hyundai korea TCR factory racers use Neotech coil overs.
Neotech are nowhere near the quality of AP. It isn't even on the same class. No TCR cars use Neotech coilovers. Idk where you got that info. Only some of the M Cup Festival cars run them. US Elantra N1 CUP cars are on KWs specially designed for N Cup cars.
@umarovracing I got that info from RU-vid where they showed a TCR N1 car (it was in Korean. Therefore, a Koren TCR n1 racer) and showing some of the features after a race and I peeped the Neotech coil overs. I was surprised myself by says alot. Also the new EVO R caliper is outta this world. Maybe not apples for apples with the AP ones but comparable (almost anyway)
Those cars aren't TCR cars. TCR cars are the cars run in WTCR and IMSA Michelin pilot challenge. Those cars are on Ohlins. TCR cars are built in Germany, because Hyundai Motorsports is HQ'ed there. They aren't going to be using Neotech, because they aren't proven globally. Since they are based in South Korea, they can't provide the service and parts race teams need internationally. Teams in Korea use them for the same reason. Same with AP, Essex Racing provides parts and service for the brake systems in the US. Now, that Neotech system does look cool. I wish the pads were thicker. I think they are 18mm pad with a brembo shape. These APs I have are 25mm thicc Bois. I hope some people get these Neotechs in the US and give them some abuse. I heard Neotech might open a service center in LA. So we will see.
Amazing video! You have no idea how much this just helped cause I’ve been looking for a video of the front bumper removal for the new facelift, got a great idea from this and learned some more!
@@umarovracingbro I know this might be a lot to ask but is there anyway you can do a short demonstration on removing the bumper itself, there’s a certain screw by the fender giving me huge headache and I just don’t know how to get into it, thanks 🙏🏼
Dude I had no idea. I'm glad you're relatively okay. Focus the recovery, the family and we'll be here when you get back. I'll dm you tomorrow, there is something I would like for you to consider given the circumstances.
Just found your channel. I currently own a Kia Forte GT 2022. I am looking to trade my car in for an Elantra N 2024. I wanted to ask you if you consider the amount of pops and loudness from the 2024 Elantra N are the same as your previous one or did Hyundai tone down the exhaust a little bit for the refresh model. I would love to hear your thoughts.
2024 EN has wayyyyy less pops. No more 3k+ RPM lift off pops. I happens rarely in certain conditions. Changing the exhaust will likely fix it. Hyundai changed the muffler and tuning around pops. Sometimes I can hear pops being muffled. I am very bummed because I am so used to it from my VN and 2023 EN
This is very interesting since I have some people have noticed the volume and amount of pops have decreaswd on the 2024 DCT and some have noticed that the manual 2024 is louder than the pre-facelift
I did, but then the first event in them I totaled the car and broke my back. BBK is sitting on the shelf right now. I am mostly healed but I can't track for a while
They were fantastic on the street. Pedal feel was much better than stock brakes. With race pads, the 5-6-ish laps I did were also amazing. I could modulate them nicely. I didn't have to use as much braking force. Pads were aggressive too
Im getting some loud scrubbing/screeching noise coming from the front right after new pads and rotors. I did lubricate the back of the pad and do the bedding procedures. Left is silent but the front right is noisy. What could be going on? Happens mostly after hard braking. UPDATE: Took apart the brakes and lubed everything. Noise is gone now.
Man, this totally blows. So much time and effort put into prep and just like that, it's over! I was heart broken when you left VN but knew there was some carry over to EN. There are so few N owners out there that focus on road course track driving and modding. Well, at least those that make content. So you were a huge source of reliable content. Anyways, it is what it is and I gotta do what's best for you. I'm glad ur ok. Make sure u get lots of movement in. A hurt back needs movement to heal. My first year of VN ownership was ruined by white line camber plates and my 2nd year was ruined by sciatic pain from a back injury. Good times. Anyways, maybe focus on autox, or use your talents to help other v/e/kn owners get faster on track (aka, set up gopro and race logic and make content based on that). Anyways. We'll miss ya!
Thank you! Appreciate your comment 🙇. I hope your back feels better by now. Yeah I am definitely trying to move as much as I can. I try to hit 10k steps a day. Plus having a toddler helps me keep moving. Yeah autocross is a consideration. We will see. I definitely will focus on helping others. Hopefully this weekend, I can do an oil change and put a mesh behind the grille. I plan to document that as well

I put them on because I didn't need them anymore. It would be more valuable to them at the auction to have good wheels. Track wheels and tires are damaged. One wheel is an oval shape with a crack and scuff. Others are a mess too
No, I actually tried to raise the rear. I set the bump travel in the rear and it wouldn't go up as far as it should because of the bump stop. They are just really tall. I wish I trimmed them back then
@@umarovracing minimal mods but enough to get a TAD more power and sound from the exhaust / intake. Looking at doing a res delete, opinion on doing so ?
this is why if you want to do racing you buy a race car with proper cage & safety & fire equipment, especially if you're going to push limits, not a street Hyundai with poor suspension design.... like cmon man nearly anyone could have seen this coming.
You have track insurance? I assume so since you do a ton of track events it looks like. Glad you are doing better. Back injuries are no joke!!! Such horrible pain.
Thank you! I did have track insurance for the fire and for the Elantra N. Fire was because of downpipe coming loose. Yeah I wish I had picked an option where I didn't break my back
@@umarovracing That's crazy that you broke your back with that impact. Do you have a harness for your N? Must have been the side violent impact causing your whole body to move to the side abruptly? Yeah I saw your other video and the valve covers on these cars are plastic and it caught on fire. Horrible situations. Did the Elantra have a stock tune on it?
I only have a Simpson Hybrid S. Impact was head on. Front of the car lifted from all the bumps on the grass and I put the concrete barrier with the front corner of the car. So all the impact went through the subframe and wheels. One of the wheels is an oval shape. It was 3.6G of acceleration in the Z axis. So vertical. Seat belt held me in place and probably cause my spine to compress. Or it happened when my helmet contacted the headliner. Or at impact from the bottom of the seat. I really don't know
I'm very glad you are physically okay! I'm so sorry that these events are happening to you! I'm going through shit too, it feels like the world's problems are my problems. But it's not. You are loved and cared for, and I want to remind you that you matter. Much Love, Ajay R (p.s: It is so admirable to be taking care of a family while still supporting hobbies and passions. For that you have my upmost respect and admiration.)
Sorry to hear dude. I have been following you since you had the Veloster N. I do autox in my Veloster N and the occasional track event. I've been taking a lot of tips from you through the years. I wish you the best with the new Elentra N
Hey man, I am glad you are okay! (More or less). This is a huge loss for our community, but I want to thank you for your virtual friendship. I hope you enjoy the new N as much as possible. I know the feeling after a small crash I had on track was shit, I can’t imagine how you must feel after something this major, but I very much appreciate you and no matter what your next path is, I hope you find satisfaction in it.
Sorry for your mishap, stuff happens when we do this stuff, our control or not. On wet grass we become a passenger, without steering and brakes.Almost feels like it accelerates. Glad that you are ok !
Super glad to hear you're all good, man! You are a huge inspiration and an amazing racer, don't let this get you down. Awesome to see you got another EN! Take as much time off as you need to get right. Can't wait to see you back! Much love and support!
I watched an S197 Mustang fly into K-rail and move it 10 feet, do a 180, and shear the rear hub and axle, at autocross last weekend. In a 3rd gear slalom in the EN. AX still has risks. I had my concerns with the course design, but it was more the sharp 90 degree turn 30' (50'?) from K-rail at the end of the slalom.
I explain in the video. They also hold the spring in place when the suspension fully droops. This is a problem if you are running too short of a spring.
@@umarovracing what size should i run? i just bought rays te37s going for450 hp dont kn ow torque yet im oly intrested in hooking up . its not a track car
