I am finally put coilovers on the Elantra N. I am very excited to run a set on the car. I loved the setup on the Veloster N. This time I am running them with helper springs to help dial in the ride height. I show you how to set the bump travel.

Interesting, Enlantra N has a cast iron rear knuckle compared to aluminum for Veloster N and Kona N..

Nice detailed video. I did not set the droop that way on my 500/VN, I just eyeballed it lol. If I were to do this, what were you adjusting after removing the coils? was it the body thread? I might have some challenges doing this since it seems my front left and right are not even and had to adjust one higher than the other, had to compromise. I also noticed that the rear spring and helper orientation are reversed on EN. I have my helper below the spring.

Yeah, you have to remove the spring. Then put the damper back together. Then use the lower damper sleeve and thread it to extend or shorten the whole coilover. Then you use a helper to set the ride height. You need to have a helper spring to setup the ride height though. To be able to run a helper, you need a shorter 6" spring. This is really important to do. Orientation of helper vs spring isn't super important.

So now you have no factory dampening settings anymore with the coilovers?

@@umarovracing Seems like a waste to buy a car with an adjustable suspension just to get rid of it. But to each his own.

I see your point. This is my second N car. I didn't get it for the active dampers. My former VN, yes, I got it for that. Ran it stock suspension for three years. This Elantra N is a time attack car. Sadly, stock suspension becomes the limiting factor.

I explain in the video. They also hold the spring in place when the suspension fully droops. This is a problem if you are running too short of a spring.

Yes. Out of the box they come with 8" spring front 6" spring rear with helper in the rear
