I will be your virtual travel guide for getting the best out of your stay in Budapest and Hungary. I am a local who was born and raised here, so on this channel I am sharing my favorite places, what to do and why I love living in this City and Country. This way you can get the perspective of someone who lives here, not just the usual touristy stuff uploaded on RU-vid, but things that may be off your radar. Hope my videos can give you all some inspiration to visit these places and also try the local foods and drinks.
But of course this will not stop me going on adventures abroad and to share those experiences with you as well 🙂

There is Premier Outlet, a collection of many different shops many at outlet prices, it is not in Budapest but right next to it at Biatorbágy. Other than that, there is also Ázsia Center at the edge of Budapest with lots cheap clothing.Hope this helps 😊
I was doing some research and found that the London subway was powered by steam. So Budapest’s subway was the first one powered by electricity! You can now say the first European electricity powered subway. 😊
Hey there! Yes we are locals, so we didn't include accommodation prices as that varies a lot depending on location and season, so only wanted to show the expenses outside of that 😊
We will be there in the week before Christmas. I know it will be cold but if we wanted to bundle up and brave the cold, are there any places that still have outdoor places open?
Hey there! Next to the river like the ones we're showing here will likely be closed. There may be a few places with gardens in the city that may be open so those who smoke can sit outside, but options will be more limited.
@@StuffedCabbageAdventures thank you! After commenting I researched a little more and found that it seems that Balna keeps their terrace open year round too!
Hey there! Only if it's a Front Boarding bus, they usually flash a note on the bus front saying its Front Boarding only. You scan the qr code and show the display to the driver 😊 the other time is when there is an inspection but then you just need to select the option to show your qr code to inspectors and then they check if your pass is valid 😊 hope this helps!
Pro tip. In the airport, find the MiniBud booth and get tickets with them (or reserve ahead of time) and get taken right to your destination. It's a lot easier than the bus, less people, and probably quicker. We use it every time we visit my mother in law in Budapest, and it makes it very easy and quick to get to her home.
Hi! I’m your new subscriber, me and my friend will visit Budapest on October and planning to go to Vienna for a day, could you please give us advice and suggestions of how to travel there by train from Budapest. Or better for us to get a tour. Hope you reply. Thank you and have a great day.
Hey there! There are regularly scheduled trains to Vienna from Budapest, I would suggest checking out jegy.mav.hu (the Hungarian railways website) and search for tickets there. Alternatively there is Flixbus that can also take you to Vienna, I personally favor the train 😊
Are you and your wife OK? I saw about the flooding in Central Europe, especially in Poland and Slovakia. I would assume that Hungary is also getting flood waters as well.
Hey there, thank you for your message, Budapest is lucky the flood should not have major impact and we don't live close to the river so we are absolutely fine. We hope all others in areas here in Central Eastern Europe impacted by the floods and the rainfall are safe. In Hungary there are Major preparations, but there will be places for sure where the flood will cause damage, let's hope it won't be anything extraordinary and people's lives won't be impacted.
Hey there! The Danubes levels are increasing and likely peaking in Budapest around Saturday. From your point of view there shouldn't be any issue, you can still enjoy the attractions of the city, except for Margaret Island which is closed off due to the flooding. But other than that and a few hiccups in public transport, it should be fine (for example, Tram 2 doesn't go all the way and some stations close to the river are closed).
Hey there! The Passes do not need to be validated, they are valid from the time you set up at purchase. If you buy a physical paper based pass you may need to present it to inspectors or on front boarding buses need to show to the driver. If you buy via the Budapest Go app on the phone, you'll need to show your phone to the inspector, or scan a qr code on the front boarding vehicle and show display to driver, 😊
I was wondering when is the best time to book a place to stay when visiting Hungary? How far ahead did you arrange for your stays in Japan? Was it hard to find availability? Thank you!
Hey there! Do you mean the seasons? I think all seasons have their charm but my personal opinion is that Spring and Autumn are likely the best times to Visit Hungary 😊 regarding Japan, for this trip that happened in March - April, we booked plane tickets in December and hotels around the same time 😊 we usually use booking dot com and could find available hotels at the price range we had in mind. I am not an expert at Japan hotels but looked to me that many hotels do not open up bookings which are far ahead in the future.

Great vlog, I'm coming to Budapest in a couple of week so this was interesting. I think the most shocking pricing for me was your grocery shopping, the prices seemed comparable for what I pay in the UK, in fact you're paying more for some of your items, you showed some mince beef for 5 euros, but that would cost £2.50 in the UK, plus of course we earn more here so I can imagine that's very difficult for locals over there.
Na figyu... Nem tudjátok, hogy az (apai) nagymamám micsoda finom sütiket, édességeket tudott csinálni. Az öreglány zseni volt. ...... hála istennek. :D
Hey there! I don't believe they check this strictly on the airport Special Service bus 100E, but on regular public transport the official statements say the total luggage size should not exceed the size of 2 carry-on luggages.
I got interested in going to the for sale pub because of the comments I saw on Google Maps… But I’ve checked lots of restaurant menus recently and I thought the prices on for sale pub extremely abusive!!! I might be wrong but I found so many better pubs and restaurants to go that I just see no point going to this one!!! Thanks for sharing such great vídeos and tips :))
It’s like they think people make more money If you make are twice as much , it could easily cost more than twice .much in expenses . You live in one of the most beautiful cites in the world and one of the safest and so much opportunity for anyone on the ball.
Hey there! Regarding convenience stores essentially any from the big chains should do, like Lidl, Aldi, CBA or Spar etc. As for Eating houses to be fair I rarely visit ones in the city center, but Cibere Étkezde was simple and tasty when we were there, and I heard good things about Akácfa Étkezde 😊
