I loved this style! You have a relaxing, but engaging voiceover voice. And I learned a lot about wooden puzzles! I am going to add one to my Christmas list.
I really like the new way you did this video! I have been watching your timelapse puzzles and have been blown away by the quality of your layout (the plants, etc). I was watching this one on mute and suddenly I saw captions. Wow! Of course I turned on the volume then. :) I think most wooden puzzles will be out of my range, but you did a great job reviewing them. thanks!
Thank you so much for commenting and saying such lovely things about my videos! It means so much to me. 🥰 I'm so glad that you enjoyed this new video style. Wooden puzzles are out of my range too. I've only really done them by being lucky at the thrift store and finding wooden traveling puzzles. I wish I had the budget to buy them!
I enjoyed reading the review for this puzzle! I was surprised to see a random cut for this puzzle. It sounds like you found this puzzle on the more difficult size. I don't think that I would be brave enough to do this puzzle!!!
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the review. Thankfully, while it was a little challenging, I wouldn't say that it was hard. Just one of those puzzles that took me a little bit longer than a lot of the puzzles I've done lately. I just finished a really hard one that made this one look easy-peasy! I enjoyed it regardless and definitely recommend if you like the image! And, yes! Soonness started putting a random cut on their puzzles I think sometime last year. The older ones only have a varied ribbon cut. I think this particular cut is going to end up being changed given all the issues with the pieces though.
Love cats and do quite a few puzzles with cats on them. I did a 500 piece Schmidt one recently called Coffee Art Kittens. The Yoga for Cats one looks good. I'll have to have a look and see if I can find it. I'm currently in the process of doing a 500 Schmidt called Sweet Temptations. I do hope you feel better soon and can do the video you originally planned for today.
@@puzzlepiece9509 I don't specifically seek out cat puzzles but I always seem to end up doing them. 😹 I actually know the Coffee Art Kittens puzzle! I nearly got that one a couple weeks ago at a puzzle swap but someone grabbed it before me. Sweet Temptations looks fun! Thanks so much for the comment. ☺️🧩💚
@FindEveryLittlePiece cool, thanks, o use my phone, too, but I'm finding that the files are pretty big. I just have to press stop more often lol. Have a super day!
@@TheFrugalPuzzler aw, that makes me so happy to hear. I'm so glad you enjoy them. Thanks for taking the time to leave such a sweet message. I really appreciate it! 🥰🧩💚
Most of our puzzles are from thrift stores. I would say on average 90% of them are NOT missing pieces. But for the ones that are, we have a lot of fun making the new pieces. My wife is the main puzzler. If she has a missing pieces or pieces, she traces them on a sticky note pad then glues that to a thin piece of wood with rubber cement. I cut the pieces out on my scroll saw and she sands them to the correct thickness which also removes the paper and glue. Then being that wood is going to get painted, we need to wet the wood to raise the grain, let it dry, then re-sand smooth. Then she paints it with acrylic paints to match the puzzle as near as possible. She will then use the appropriate finish of Mod Podge if it is matte, satin, or gloss to seal the acrylic paint. She is actually pretty darn good at the painting! Whole process takes about an hour or less. We actually are more excited to get a puzzle with missing pieces than one that is all there!! We usually donate back to the thrift stores but a different one than where we originally bought. She likes to re-bag with Ziplock's to make sure pieces aren't lost and she labels the bag if they are all there or if they had "new" pieces handmade and how many we made. Lastly, thanks for doing this puzzle for our entertainment! Missing pieces and all!
That was a jolly, colourful puzzle. It's amazing what you can find in charity shops. That's the sort of puzzle I like doing and much to my surprise I can get it in the UK. I'll think about getting it.
Glad it was helpful! I have a full-review of that puzzle on my site which goes into more detail: findeverylittlepiece.com/2024/07/07/pokemon-frames-1000-piece-buffalo-games-puzzle-review/
Killer border!!! Very interesting puzzle design and very imaginative artwork combining common themes in puzzles! Thanks for entertaining us with such an unusual puzzle!
Don't think I would ever put books and water together -- interesting concept! Looks like a quality bag comes with this brand. I always put mine in Ziplock bags to keep them intact in the box when I am done. Thanks for the entertainment!
Hi Alan! Thanks for the comment. It's such a cool idea for an image isn't it? The bag is nice touch especially as this brand is on the higher side. It does make it a little hard to close the box afterwards but it's nice not to have to search out my own bag.
Loved that puzzle, one I did myself earlier this year. Love the cat faces. Tricky puzzle though, the top took a while to get done. I did another one by Kilban called Pool Cat 300 pieces. 🥰
The top was definitely tricky! I have seen Pool Cat before and it's definitely on my list to get one of these days! Was it easier than this one? It seems like it could be but it also looks like it could also be deceptively challenging in spots like this one was. Thanks for the comment! ☺
Probably as close to a gradient puzzle as I would ever get! That looked fun assembling all the little cars! Would not have liked all the white border and left it to last as well! One suggestion is that perhaps you could show the box for as few seconds longer at the beginning and not place it on top of the finished puzzle at the end. IMO the box on top at the end spoils the whole beauty of the puzzle you just did for us! At any rate, thanks again for the entertainment!
It was fun but very tricky once I got to those red cars. Much harder than your standard gradient puzzle but also more fun. Thanks for the feedback and the suggestions! I've actually been considering changing up the end scene for my videos.
Glad you did this one and not me. Not a fan of gradients or pastels but relaxing watching someone else do it as opposed to stressful if I had to do it. Thanks for the entertainment!
Thanks, Alan! I did enjoy it but mostly for how quickly it came together. I enjoy regular puzzles more but gradients make for a nice break and change of pace which I appreciate every once in a while (especially after more challenging puzzles).
I love the relaxing vibe with the plants! I have similar taste in puzzles, how are the quality of these Genuine Fred puzzles? I’m hoping to get a bunch since they’re on sale now but haven’t tried them yet.
Glad you like the videos, thanks for the comment! I actually quite like Genuine Fred puzzles. They are a pretty decent quality, about what you would expect from their pricing. So not a fancy high-end quality like I would expect from say Art & Fable or Reverie Puzzles but pretty solid when compared to the more budget brands. There are definitely things they could improve (some false fits and a looser fit than I'd ideally like - but not loose enough to be obnoxious) but all things that would bump up their pricing if they did. I'm a little biased because I really like the images they choose. I think they are pretty solid overall for a semi-budget brand.
Aw, thanks! I don't time myself and am definitely not the fastest of puzzlers (although not bad either). 😅 I don't have exact numbers but I would say between 6-12 hours. Obviously that's a huge time difference but it depends on difficulty and whether or not my husband helps out. So probably 12 for the super spicy ones and 6-8 for an average difficulty one. Although I did just do a gradient one that was maybe around 4.5/5? My husband is the faster puzzler of the two of us so anytime he helps it cuts the time considerably. This one was probably 7-8 hours? ...I should really just buy a timer 😂
Omg, I have been looking for this puzzle for over a year. Mind sharing where you found it? Would you possibly be interested in selling it in the future?
Unfortunately, I found it at a local thrift shop so that's not very helpful but I would consider selling it! I'm a little busy this week and next to put that together but maybe we can chat in a couple weeks and figure something out? My email is listed in my about me details on my channel - feel free to email me!
