As someone who has played DMO since it's Korean debut and still enjoys it, this video was absolutely hilarious 😆it does bother me how easy it is now to level up, it used to take days if not weeks to reach digi level 41. But with a playerbase so old and advanced, it was discouraging for new players to try the game and it was pretty much dead for a long time Many of the items/perks you said are paid can actually be obtained either by game currency, events or drops, like the different Tamer, clothes, Mercenary slots, inventory slots, etc
believe it or not, this was, at least to me, a good game when it realeased, getting your first mega digimon, wich is level 41 taked like an entire day, the first evolutions mattered, i remember being leveling up on my ultimate form a lot, now the game gives you to much xp, im not against that, but, at least, change the level required for evolutions so i can play with every piece of the evolution line a little bit more.
I never liked open world PVP, so Albion is a pass for me. Unfortunately. I wish I was able to play it on a Non PVP server, but I guess that'll divide the player base too thin. Anyway I'm happy for all the people enjoying it. Luckily for me there's a lot of other games to explore so It's okay that Albion doesn't work for me.
Late comment, but the only thing that's keeping me in runescape 3 is the fact that I've put in 1000s of hours. I am playing osrs at the same time and realizing that the old school team seems more focused on their playerbase. It's unfortunate really.. might make the move to only play osrs
I just don't get the idea of demonizing "monetization" so much in games that require no upfront purchase to play. They need to make money somewhere. Why do people expect games to ve completely free? Its even funnier when its a RU-vidr complaining 5 minutes after a 2 minute long sponsor interuption and a 3 minute beg for likes and subs and patreon and super chats and 10 other monetizations 😂
CoH was the best especially with all the story Arch updates u can literally have your own superhero story goin on n the mmo aspect made it u didn't have to create heroes in your team u jus joined which ever one fit wit u sigh I definitely need to look up how to play it in 2024
No fucking way. I always remember going to a friend's house and seeing their brother playing an MMO that i could never remember the name of, it's been like fucking 13 years ive been trying to figure it out and here it is.
if I had to guess, the store fronts probably used to be the main way of selling or buying things. the auction house was probably added in a patch. im guessing here but this would be my best guess
Seems like you were picking individual dungeons which is alot harder to get into you're always supposed to pick random to find faster que times. Also you completely skipped the guild system. But yeah this is definitely one of those games you ether like or don't it's not for everyone
YOOOOOOOOOOO I used to play this when I was a kid and it would pop into my head every once in a while. Thanks for this video! As someone mentioned, they also had that shitty astronauts on the moon game,
This vid was suggested to me out of no where since I haven't played DMO in years but I have a few things to say. The vid was fine mostly but you seem to be someone who only has seen the very first series cause the beginning of the MMO is based off of one of the later series called Data Squad. Later on as you progress you will be going threw the original series story from the anime and others. This game is HEAVILY pay to win but with enough time and patience you can get caught up to others. The catch to this game is having all of the buffs you get from clothing and accessories. They are all timed so while they are active this game is just simple and fun but without them it's a hot mess. You have to do a ton of traveling and without good shoes forget it. Your digimon have a mana systems that is used up while your digimon is digivolved but with something called Digiaura that isn't an issue. The game is really good at throwing a ton of free stuff to you in the beginning but once that goes away you will feel the full force of pay2win. You certainly didn't play a lot but you also didn't miss much as the same time. it's all kill and fetch quests. Bots was really bad back in the day but they are really good at hitting them nowadays. I only know this cause all of the people that I knew were cheating were banned and I had not many friends left to play with so that's why I quit. Colosseum is a nightmare without friends who can help and that is the main thing to do in this game until you quit. It's still getting updates and new maps so whatever they are doing is working. I'd say if you want to do a real review you would have to put about a month into the game. What you had was just a two day experience lol
Its a game I'll probably at least give an actual honest try at some point, especially since I got it free through Twitch Prime, but honestly it doesn't look like my kind of thing. Good to know that its not super pay to win (or at least not anymore), but I like a more... guided experience I guess you could say. I find sandbox MMOs a bit too overwhelming for my poor little brain. I at least need a story to follow through most of the game so I can figure out all the systems before I can start actually making plans for what I want to do outside the main story. Its just too much to give a brief tutorial story and then thrown into the main game and have little to no threads to follow or knowing what's actually important or not to focus on
The problem, in my opinion, with the MMO model is that it never matured from it's early roots during the late 90's early 2000's. In fact, it regressed a bunch. MMO's had a lot more detail and complexity that you just don't see today. The MMO model has also become stale since it did not progress to a modern model like other non-MMO's did. In fact, you can find MUD servers which are very niche today that have higher modernized gaming models then current MMO's. So It doesn't surprise me that so many MMO's failed that released less then a decade ago.
The worst problem about this game is its pay to win, even currently you would have to buy gold in order to have level 4 gems and runes …..your average player can’t compete against that…..it’s a shame the game had great potential but greed ruined it.
If I get a month in to an Ftp before I feel the need to spend money I am fine with paying $60.00 for in game currency to get another month of enjoyment. It's the games that eat hundreds for nonsense that I refuse to play.
It’s a mildly fun game. I’d recommend putting more time into it. Some goals would be to get aox and beat myotismon. Aox is going to be a DNA evolution where you need two digimon to evolve. It’s a grind but you need to go through file island to the end before the leveling starts to flatline a bit around 100 but then you’ll unlock the desert area and after that the real game starts where you’ll find actual raids and players to talk to.
I never understood why Guild wars want you to say "an mmo that respects your time" in the ads you make for them, who plays an mmo expecting it to not take up too much of their time lmao??
