I met this dude at the Masquerade in Atlanta in 2000 by the merch table after they opened the show; they were a last-minute replacement for Bracket (still pissed about that) and he was a complete asshole.

This sums up how big of a douchebag Roe is. We saw the Ataris live years before this. He was absolute garbage. Acting like he forgot lyrics to the songs from So Long Astoria and Blue Skies. This would explain why there’s been a revolving door of band members.
I grew up on the Ataris as a kid/teen and I really like their songs. I will still listen to them happily for nostalgia’s sake. But unfortunately I could always tell that Kris was an entitled little prick even when I was 15 years old. Dude always thought he was a rockstar when he’s really just a niche pop punk singer. This was such a bad look for him. And the best part is the drummer is playing perfectly fine, he’s the one that fucked it cause he’s a dumbass.
I absolutely hate that the singer thought it was necessary to destroy the thousands of dollars worth of gear just because the drummer was a little off…
Lots of these guys are losers financed by rich parents. Wealthy kids are often the biggest, most spoiled shitbag humans, with no understanding of how hard someone has to work to afford nice equipment. Even pissed off, no musician who had to work their ass off for a nice guitar would ever throw it like that
