Living off grid and being free of bills one step at a time. My dream is coming true to be free and live off grid come along and see how things are going and share your thoughts.
I would love to ask you a question.Been watching you for a while , so let's say I have a property where I can use it as Has shelter from emp, would u pur in a Mitigator that purifies the air for radon gasses. If you ever have any leaks within that nice? Well, cemented off area would that give you increased protection if it's working properly in the event of an EMP S thoughts, so it would be worth the money to spend about $3000 to have it put in as another level of protection. Or would that be a waste of money in other words? Would it benefit it or not benefit its interest in thought? You've been improving for a while and I know because I've talked to you before live.
About time stamp 1:20 and forward, looks like a narrow space. Might be a good idea to place some culvert diverters to channel the water flow. Did Ed say the house width would be 12 ft?
I need to rent a trencher to use around the deer blind, and a couple others do too, so one weekend several of us will probably go in together to split the cost. After a nice trench is dug around each place toss stone in for a perfect french drain
I can imagine the cost of setting up. Excavator fees, the cabins, block, insulation, total solar set up, gutters, flooring. Skirting, plumbing for water, bathroom facilities to eliminate, shower. A wood stove . High end prepping. Plus donation for materials for. Common buildings. Of course your own labor. Too bad , I’m close but not to that point yet.
Been watching for years. I love your channel. I just started posting off grid/ preparedness videos on my channel. Keep up the good work and thanks for the inspiration. I am a bee keeper so if you ever need any advice reach out!
I'll go down there with a few of you and look at the possibilities of using pillars and frame on the downhill side so the one end safely hangs out over the hill
@@PC4USE1 Les's spot is right near the deer blind ( I'm finally getting a neighbor! ).... I had about 6 inches of dirt/ root bed to go through, then hit the old hard mount clay that just got harder as you dug lol. Frost line here is 22 inches and i dug all my post holes to around 30 inches just to be safe. So I'm assuming the ground in this spot will be the exact same as mine.
Trust me when i say there is more wood on property at the moment than we could use for now. We are trying to get to the point where every building has a large wood shed and all the wood sheds full.
All at the same time it's a you get your supply stocked up, and we all pitch in to fill others. I have a few piles of cut wood around the deer blind at the moment from clearing the area that i need to get split and put away.
Please you can make these videos a little longer are more of them we really enjoy watching this I know some people just set up a camera and tripod and go for it but please more content of this
I haven't watched for a few months so I'm not sure what you're doing. Did everyone buy lots from you or are you renting the spots for the tiny homes or what.
I know Ed owns the land,I don't know if it is a formal rental. They contribute to group projects for the betterment of all of them,That I do know. Their houses are their own.Maybe a hand shake agreement,IDK.
Sun's so hot it is scorching the garden, still won't dry the clothes for the humidity . Shut down electric during the day because of the price and now poor phone reception and people are worried about grid down. Hugs and kisses to all. Stay safe. 💕
Looks like a great are he picked , just a lot on the operator. Will you harvest the cut down trees? I know you tried to be gentle on the trees but you do what you got to do .Rocks are a pain but the could be used as a semi b barrier to the gully.
I would like two blocks tall just to give room to get under the building to insulate the floor and add 1/4 inch plywood so the floor is ot so cold in winter !
