We actually ended up getting out of it at the end of last season. The only track they are running at currently is Whittemore speedway if you want to get in touch with those guys.
@@AJBunch6 oh wow! I did see your post about selling the car. I was kinda bummed haha to be honest. I was looking forward to seeing the car and content, following your races. But it’s all good. What are you doing now for the rush ?
@@AJBunch6 need to get into a SXS!? Haha Turbo S or R … I’m going back and forth on what to do. I’d have to choose to race or ride with family and new friends. I’m down the road from Missaukee Trail head so there’s so much riding out here. I hear them all night long. Crazy….
Do you have to travel to every track across the country or do you just go regular to the same track? That may be the difference between it being doable or not for me
@AJBunch6 I'm planning to move closer to a track. I'm thinking Springfield because it's only 3 hrs away. Thank you for the info. I still don't understand how the series is run. At first I thought it was like nascar where you would have to travel to a different state every weekend.
That's not too bad at all. In fact, I was kindly expecting it to be more than that to be honest about it. I'd love to get into this but I'm too old and now permanently disabled. I'd like to get a street legal version of the sedan with a Harley Davidson motor and transmission. That would be cool too.
The actual dealer now would be Jim Leasure at corrigan oil speedway, but if you are looking for used the just legends Facebook page always has cars that are for sale.
Why does everyone switch to Afco? From the Google I’ve done the Bilstein have better and faster rebound and shock performance do to the travel length and pure specs of the shocks
They are no longer making the bilstein shocks. I personally didn’t notice much of a difference between the 2 but also didn’t have all the options to try combinations
@@AJBunch6 back in my NASA HPDE days, the Corvette guys would burn through a set of massively wide tires in a weekend and I was always shocked at their consumable rate
How many cars have you been seeing at you races show up every week? Also what is the payout system and how much can you get if you win or place? Also what kind of safety equipment is required, type of helmet, fire suit ect.?
It all depends on the state you live in, Michigan gets around 10 cars but states like North Carolina get 25-30 each show. Payouts depend on the track and that determines the breakdown. You need a snell 2015 or newer helmet currently and and sfi rated fire protection for the rest of the safety equipment.
i ran a pair of 240 sx back in 06-09 the non wear items were the cheapest part... the more expensive the cars get/ the more publicity the event gets the more hands are involved at each track collecting fees
I think the question was???? What does the tracks pay back after the race ,, do they pay or not regardless were you finish,, at the price you said that's for the year cost us more just in tires
Sorry for the sarcastic comments that someone made. Do you know the best place to look for a legend car. I would like to try to get started with maybe someone wanting to sell Thank you
Just watched a dirt race in the south. They ran these after a 50 lap modified main with 26 cars. That crap was obnoxiously slick and then the legends cars were on there. Poor guys. It was pretty much impossible to keep the cars straight. Luckily only 4 cars were in that so there were no big crashes but the short wheel base and pretty much driving on ice.... These cars look fun, I'm kind of considering getting one.
Thank you for posting this! I am way down here in central Florida but I am desperately trying to get into racing any way that I can and these cars seem cool to me. I wish I were up there id ask to crew for you! But thanks for posting like I said and I made sure to subscribe
Who would have thought this would be cheaper than motorcycle racing.... jeeeez...... that's awesome! big bikes are 18k new now, you can get used for about 9k, plus 500 bucks for tires each day or sometimes twice a day. 10 gallons of fuel should get you through the weekend. Track prices are 200-300 a day. Transponders are about 500, crash fairings are about 1k, exhaust and tune to be competitive about 2k. 3k for suspension, Gear is about 2k average.... so to get into Motorcycles lets call it 12-14k average for liter bikes maybe 8-10k for 600 class.
Yeah, it seems like our racks have a bit of play in them as well. We don't get a ton of vibration from that though. We get our wheels and driveshaft balanced and that seems to take care a lot of that rotational vibration. Supposedly tightening that flat head on the top of the rack 'cleans up the slop' but we still have little play up and down.
My wife and I were at this race, sitting just above/behind where the video was shot from the stands. This was the first time we have seen Legends racing and I have to say that I am hooked. A very exciting race for sure.. and honestly I can't get Legends out of my head now. Need to figure out if it's something I can get into for real 😁
Thanks for posting this. I first saw Legends race at Whittemore Speedway 2 weeks ago and I was mesmerized. Very cool cars, amd exciting racing. I'm not young anymore but man I want to figure out how to get into this.
We will be stepping away from car ownership for a little bit but will still be around the tracks some and I’ll try and post some content here and there.
My son wants to drive nascar and he’s in Karting. I see this is a good steeping stone. We live in Florida. Our RU-vid channel is F1minimotorsports. Do you have any advice or guidance for us?
Great video. I live in Virginia and Langley speedway is only 30 mins from me. I've been wanting to get into racing for a while being an avid race fan, avid iRacer (asphalt oval with anything from legends to cup,) and regular Langley attendee. This video has given me some good insight into what I'll be looking at cost wise just to get started. Would it be of any benefit for me to start talking with the local guys? See about working with a race team for a bit? Just to get that insight before wanting to be a driver owner?
Awesome! Langley seems like a great facility. I absolutely think it would be beneficial to start talking with some teams there and seeing if you can start working with them to start learning.
@@AJBunch6 yeah it's a good track. Always great racing there. And that's my thought too. A good opportunity to network and get that mechanical experience and how race nights work from the team standpoint. And as a studying A&P I think it would be beneficial in that regard. Race teams like to hire aircraft Mechs for some reason 🤭 I race with EPI, a setup shop for iRacing and there's a couple legends guys in the shop who race at Langley. Been chatting with them so may reach out to one and see about working with the team for a bit 👍
