@johnshaves1996 I have recently been trying your method.. it has really made me appreciate my badger brushes more. My question is do you get a ton of residual slickness? I have been using BB Ti and Wolfman WR2 1,25... my lathers turn out great like yours, but when I rub my cheek after a stroke, my cheek is almost dry with almost no residual slickness. Doesn't seem to impact the shave, no pulling, tugging, or irritation.. justr weird, my usual method I am used to a ton of residual slickness... am I doing something wrong, or any idea why? Soaps used: SV Opuntia, Gentleman's Nod Finca Vigia, NO Monoi de Tahiti, DG Shore
Hi John. Nice shave comparison. These are really very high quality razors here. I love watching your comparisons, and admire your well pointed explanation of the subtle differences between razors.❤👍🏾
Great face lathering with a Badger brush I've seen on RU-vid. I have a couple of Yaqi 26mm Badgers and they are great for face lathering. Like you, with a synthetic like my Simpson T3, I can cut the loading time in half, 15 seconds. Can you do a video of bowl lathering with a badger. please. I've tried bowl lathering with my badgers and I find that they really hog the lather. I don't get the same problem with a synthetic.
John go get an Ateleir Durdan La Maurice DE. I have the 1.6 in SS. You need to get the 2.0. It’s a great razor… super smooth, great geometry.. Gap is deceiving imo. Hope all is well with School. Best wishes🙏🏼💪🏼
Hey John, have you tried the Dovo Primo DE razor? It shaves as well as the Overlander, and it might even be smoother and maybe a bit more efficient. It's unbelievable. I've sold mostly all of my razors because, for me, nothing beats the overlander and dovo primo.
any Pucks, any hard soaps or ARKO Sticks will work? You can mix and match old soaps? to fit in any mug or cup that you like to use. like Mitchells' Wool Fat? Cut the bar soap up, put in a mug, cover the soap with a small amount of water, microwave for a minute or so? if it foams up, stop ? let cool you just went it to congeal' place in the sun, until soap hardens use dry brush more water i use Dove soaps there cheap and good wheelchair Larry Merry Christmas
I love my t3! At first I was deterred by it being synthetic but the fibre on it is to notch. I’m in disbelief at how luxurious it feels. 10/10 investment in my opinion, I wish I could say the same about the Simpson brand travel case, it’s such a rip off considering how it costs pennies to make.
Same story with Stirling, they cut the corner a little bit and using too much lanoline. Lanoline may be highly irritating if you have sensitive skin. I really love their AS’s.
Thank you! Some of my current favorites performance wise are Løthur, Spearhead (Highland base) , B&M Omnibus . Ease of lather is hard to beat with SV though. Cheers
I have all levels of the Henson enhanced edition and love them. I have a Ti22+ and it gives me a BBS shave every shave. Can't feel the blade, but it cuts through growth like butter. Out of all my razors my Hensons and Overlander are my favorite and most used razors.
Nice shave and comparison bro.👍🏾.. I want to buy a Karve razor with two plates, and want to know which of karve plates are equivalent to Rockwell 2 & 4 plates? Please advise.🙏🏾
Just used my Karve Overlander aluminum for the 1st time today on 3 days of growth. I was very cautious with it as I have only used a Henson AL Mild before that. The Overlander is very mild yet efficient. It has a very nice handle which is very easy to grip. Overall, very happy with it. It is very well made. The threads are very thick and robust and the anodizing is exceptional.
I personally like the other Italian high end soap Antica Barbieria Colla better than Saponificio Varesino. Try these high end soaps from Europe, Los Jabones De Joserra and Lodrino soaps from Spain. Try HAGS, Grooming Cult, Savon Mystere, Kerkini soaps from Greece.
It have changed a lot. I tried different razors. And unfortunately the best razor are the one honed by me!😮 I am sure your opinion is a lot influenced by the guy that honed your razor. 100% any good razor can shave the same with the same method!🎉
I agree . I just found it less comfortable to use then I am used to. More of a reflection of me and my preferences rather than faulting the tool. It must be gratifying be able to hone your own razor to your own liking. Cheers
This was greatly appreciated! New subscriber with greetings from Australia. Good to see a RU-vid shaver shaving off an actual beard. I, too, have issues with blocked lather channels or non channels of the Mühle Rocca.
