Retired ,recharged , roaming, and may be started your life over again. I was born and grew up in this country, LAOS. You feel good living in Lao while Laotians feel wonderful living in America.
Size of land is about 1.5 hectares, and original asking price ~10 years ago was about $35K USD. Prices for land now are all over…depends on location, proximity to utilities/roads, etc…
I enjoyed your video, but my biggest concerns are medical care/medical infrastructure; corruption; security of assets, and property interests; and stability… I think Thailand has the advantage compared to Laos when it comes to all of the above concerns… Laos Is beautiful… Serene… but because of my concerns it is not for me…
Im 42 and will be moving over there next year after our second child is born in the US. Im excited cause everything is authentic and organic there. You dont really see any overweight people over there due to the diet
It is good that you are in Laos right now. US is turning into a hell hole. Criminals are roaming free, and homeless people are everywhere. You can always come back if Laos doesn't work out for you and your wife.
I think one can do whatever you are doing in Laos in the US too. You can buy 100+ acres of emptied land in the mid-west and disconnect from the grid and live freely while still enjoying the abundance of services and convenience of living in the US. Cost of living might be the biggest reason one wants to move back to Laos/Thailand/Vietnam.
The land is a lot cheaper than America. You can start fresh and build a nice homestead. Grow your own food and raise chickens for meat. Solar power for electricity. Install air conditioning.
Hello sons we're very proud that you are got to move to lao!! It is very good but can you tell more that who you're are you are a Hmong? Or lao? Or what is yours kinda
I’m so happy for you to hear that you are more healthier while living in Laos. It’s true that almost everything is fresh in most markets in Laos. I’m just wondering if you have any children, I didn’t see them in any of your videos. Hope one day that I can retire in Laos too.
Hi Joe! Yes - can definitely tell the difference with all the organic, fresh food. You’re very observant! Fon and I do not have children of our own…but we do spend much of our time on the farm caring for our “grand-kids.” Our niece and nephews are grown…we have one grand-nephew that stays with us on weekends, and another that stays full time on the farm. You’ll see more of them in upcoming videos…Thanks for watching!
Thank you so much for making this video. I truly appreciate your honest opinion. I work for corporate America and it’s a constant stress to the point it’s affecting my life. Please keep your videos coming!
@Luvlaolife - Hang in there, it gets better! It can be hard to filter out all the noise of daily life, but trust that all that slips away in time. I try to focus only on what I can control, and don’t worry about any of the rest. Thanks for watching!
The motherland is so beautiful thanks for sharing, even on days I don't feel like watching videos I'm here to support and put my likes. Thanks bro keep up the work!
If you wanted to live in semi modernized society’s Thailand if you choose Laos then compared Laos to Thailand you must have brain damage Laos just emerged from so called Vietnam war because their neighbor country trying to ripen its apart again and again of cause was not Vietnam that is . Just read every things in between the lines about Laos in order to comprehend the whole issues about Laos
This was great and helpful. I would prefer 3 bed 2 bath outside of the, city, center but glad to know you could live graciously for $650 per month . wow 😮
Thanks for the tour Javier! Hoping to go back to the homeland this year! Did he say all meals are included for hotel guests? Followed you from your home build. 👍
Yes, average Lao cannot afford it. However, every country has rich and poor ppl. Laos is no different. The wealthy of Laos are sitting on 10,000sf homes they don’t need a hotel room. Hotels are meant for guests and travelers. Laos is poor and behind most countries in ASEAN but it will get there through time. Laos has had a chaotic past that has haunted it due to foreign interference, instability, and lack of governance. Wishing the best to the motherland from Lao ppl from all over the world. Everyone is free to agree and or disagree with past and current governments throughout Lao history but it is high time for Lao ppl to shine.
Based on google estimates, it looks like the standard hotel guest room is currently about 3,000,000 LAK. This is higher than the Lao Plaza but lower than Crowne Plaza, so right in the middle of other 5-star hotels in Vientiane.
Wow! Beautiful hotel and amenities ❤😍 Do they have a pool? Would love to stay there when I go back to visit Loa later this year. Do you know the starting price of a room?
Glad you liked the tour! They do have a pool/spa facilities, but were putting finishing touches so we weren’t able to take a look. We didn’t get a formal quote, but google estimate puts the room rate at 3,000,000 LAK, which is more than Lao Plaza but less than Crowne Plaza…so right in the middle of other 5-star hotels in Vientiane. We’ve included contact for the hotel in the description. Thanks for watching!
I think it would be of greater help to viewers if the location of the local apartment on Google Maps was also presented. Your video was of great help to me. Thank you. I clicked subscribe and like!!
Great question! Dues are $1 per sq meter. The studio is ~28 sqm, and the 1BR is ~38sqm. So that would be ~$28 per month dues for the studio, and ~$38 per month for the 1BR. As for the property taxes: no annual taxes…maybe because this is technically a land-lease agreement for 62 years (based on the land use rights in Laos and the agreement for this Condo). More ?’s tou can contact the condo mgr directly…contact info in the video description. Thanks for watching!
