Glad you liked the tour! They do have a pool/spa facilities, but were putting finishing touches so we weren’t able to take a look. We didn’t get a formal quote, but google estimate puts the room rate at 3,000,000 LAK, which is more than Lao Plaza but less than Crowne Plaza…so right in the middle of other 5-star hotels in Vientiane. Yes, average Lao cannot afford it. However, every country has rich and poor ppl. Laos is no different. The wealthy of Laos are sitting on 10,000sf homes they don’t need a hotel room. Hotels are meant for guests and travelers. Laos is poor and behind most countries in ASEAN but it will get there through time. Laos has had a chaotic past that has haunted it due to foreign interference, instability, and lack of governance. Wishing the best to the motherland from Lao ppl from all over the world. Everyone is free to agree and or disagree with past and current governments throughout Lao history but it is high time for Lao ppl to shine.
