Nice review. I bought two of the yellow 13' when I got started with strobe sports photography. Unfortunately, on the tension screws stripped the first time I pulled the stand out on location. Adorama refunded me right away, and the other has held up well, but it hasn't been one of my main stands, so it doesn't see regular use. I read great things about the Impact heavy duty air stands at B&H, so I was planning to pick one of those up to compare them.
In my opinion it would serve that function just fine. Those are well within the weight limit. HOWEVER, as noted, it's not a tiny stand you can jam into your current camera bag (depending on the bag, of course)

Most of my lifht stands are the neweer ones I got in my beginning days that were like 50 bucks for 5 of them. They've lasted and are good for small lights. Think I'll replace them with these at some point
Great video I use a neewer vision5 with a glow ez lock 38 in that just got delivered my light stands all have fallen over with my flash and that softbox on it but I can't return it because i know it will be a very long time before I can ever afford another so yea I want one these look amazing

@@hollywoodgrump5164 awesome! I ordered one yesterday and it should be here tomorrow. I have a regular Flashpoint light stand and it has seen better days with not getting as tight as I would like for it to. Hopefully this one is better!
I have manfrotto 1004 and 1004bac's and mathews stands, I use alor of speedlites if one was being used with a small umbrella flashpoint would due on a budget, I dont believe I would use a triple speedlite bracket with those stands
Love this episode! So, for a mid-low crew size you're talking about 35 people. What would you estimate for a true "low" crew size shoot? If you had to pick say the most crucial 10 people, more or less, what roles would they be and what would that budget come out to? Or perhaps that's another episode???? Thanks!
Honestly that's a tough one. It KINDA depends on what you're shooting. But the core group should ALWAYS include: Director, DP, Sound Mixer, Key Grip, Gaffer and Vanities. Other crew would depend on specifics of your content, dig? The cost of that crew can be extrapolated from part 1 and 2 with a little math. But IN GENERAL, for personnel, you're talking about roughly half that 35+ person crew (not a true third, because a lot of who you'd be ditching are the lower-cost crew). Make sense?
@@hollywoodgrump5164 Makes total sense! I was thinking of an example like your office conference room setup, but with no actors (just a CEO for example), in their office (no location scouting/fees), and no wardrobe/props. Thanks for the insight and great work!

A Location Manager is on the Tech Scout. If none on the crew (sadly, another goofy trend) the Location Scout should be on the Tech Scout. The person who found and knows the location is a bonus for gathering Tech Scout intel.
As a working pro in TV and Film, I absolutely LOVE watching your channel. Because I'm essentially just a happy curmudgeon, your personality fits perfectly in my world. A great story can be delivered on wet dirty cocktail napkins attached by snot - and people will watch, like, and share the shit out of it. Shoot the 2nd one on clean napkins. Own it.
