@marco785 I just got a dual probe pro and am about to test it. I have a Twin Probe original and use it alot. If you cook alot of big meats, either of the dual probe models are great. If you are just cooking one big meat at a time, single probe is fine.
@@bignicksmeatsntreats I really appreciate the quick feedback! As far as what you reviewed, the twin wireless with the display seems like a no-brainer. What are the pros of me getting the single plus if it’s a bogo deal? Thanks for all the help! Is “ less is more” in this bogo situation? I’m more focused on accuracy than quantity of probes. I meant plus not pro. My apologies.
@marco785 the herbs and chicken stock add a great flavor. Honestly, since I did this video, I did one on brined turkeys and I like it even better. Pam works great as long as the skin is patted dry.
I bought one but the probe has an autonomy of 1 hour and then it runs out. How long does the probe last for you? The instructions say it has an autonomy of 40 hours and the booster 3 months. It will be without use but if using the probe I only have an autonomy of 1 hour then it is not worth the money.
I pull that membrane off of those beef ribs just like pork ribs and I can tell you that it is a MUCH better experience getting rid of that tough connective tissue that doesn't seem to totally break down even when cooking long enough for the meat to nearly come off the bone. Now for the big dino ribs I can understand keeping that membrane on but on these kind I yank it off, it is a little harder than pork but not insanely hard.
My twin went down. The white probe began to lose its charge and then later the booster lost connection which I managed to reconnect months later. Both problems now do not show on the program despite being on the charge for a full day. We will see if they honor the warranty. I was not able to contact being a weekend. It worked well till it didn't. If you are smoking brisket for example the probe contacts to recharge in the booster cable will not do so unless vigorously cleaned. I personally believe both my probes are toast. I presses the reset button and was able to reconnect to the booster but both probes are not communicating with the booster then via booster to the application. Very disappointing. Purchased from Academy March 2024.
Came across you channel when looking for reviews on the silver bac. Just curious why you went away from that grill. your thoughts? Im very new to pellet grills and I am looking for a quality one.
I wish they would stop making devices need a phone app to operate, it should be an extra not an only. Like it use to be with devices and phone apps first came in.
I’ve had my Silverbac for about 3 years. I upgraded to the new controller about a year later. I’ve been happy with it. It’s durable, easy to clean I haven’t had any issues with flame out or auger issues. I would just caution the internal temp probe for the cook chamber is not accurate at all. The actual temp is anywhere from 30 to 75 degrees hotter than indicated. I’ve verified this with 2 different wired thermometers. I use a secondary thermometer to control the temperature so if the Grilla app says 225 degrees it’s actually around 260-280 degrees. Another suggestion, that front shelf accessory is about $100 from Grilla. Instead I bought a folding plastic table from Target for about $35 and use it for every cook. I keep it right next to toe smoker and it’s great for keeping pans of food, sauces, utensils. It’s especially useful to wrap briskets, ribs, and shoulders.
