Thank you! Idk how one little goldfish can wreak so much havoc, but mine refuses to let plants live. He’s voracious, and the bigger he gets, the faster he devours anything I grow 😂 So glad I found this channel!
Now that the tanks are well established, I don’t really do weekly maintenance, more like monthly. I only gravel vac when there is excessive building up of debris and only lightly vacuuming, not digging down into the substrate with it. So maybe a few times a year.
FYI, as of 7-2-24, I am currently sold out of Umbrella Sedge and in the process of growing more! Follow me on eBay for updates and see other available plants. www.ebay.com/usr/plantlifeproject

I just got some from my LFS. I’ve killed a lot of salvinia, but the frog bit seems to be taking quite well! The roots died back and it turned quite yellow at first, but it didn’t take long (2 weeks) to start growing new runners and new roots. I like the look more than the salvinia in my own tanks.
The plants in my natural Aquarium are not developing, I use 3 6500k Led lamps, fertile substrate and yet they die. Can you tell me something for me to do that will make them develop?
@@plantlifeproject Echinodorus grisebachii, Elodea, Microsorum, Hydrocotyle, Lemna Minor, Salvinia auriculata and Cabomba. Even the Elodeas died I don't know why, water parameters are good, ph 6.8, temperature 26°C, 2 Led reflector 50w luminaire and a 30w Led lamp around 8 thousand lumens in total, water rich in nutrients, and even so even the algae do not proliferate properly.
It can grow well in a wet substrate, it is grown hydroponically by many people. My experience has been that it still needs drainage, so growing it in a container where it is partially in water so roots can still get oxygen but also grow in the water.
My turtles LOOOOVE frogbit & duckweed ! Whenever it blows up/over grows in my tanks, i just scoop it & toss it in the turtle pond.. Especially if u have older turtles that need more vegetation in their diet.
Check out the last few minutes of this video where I talk about that issue 🌿20 Houseplants that Help Filter Your Aquarium!🐟 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-501DQhyl6L0.html
How can I secure my lights high enough to light up the houseplants? I've been trying to figure something out for a while now. I was thinking maybe putting little poles for lights to clip on to but I have no idea. Most of my tanks are on standalone stands if that helps any
In some of my tour videos, (can’t remember exactly which ones) I show how I have my lights setup. You can also put some hooks in the ceiling, and suspend the lights with a chain, string, etc. and adjust to the height you need
Hi there, do you have any experience growing scindapsus silvery ann in any tanks? It is a type of pothos. I see mixed views online about whether or not it is fish safe, so I’m torn.
No the pot came with no holes. But sometimes I will use a pot that has holes and I silicone the holes with a rock or even flat piece of plastic which works well
For some reason, I am having the hardest time finding the video where you mention what kind of daylight bulbs you use for your riparium plants. Would you mind responding with the ones you suggest? I can't seem to find ones that rate above 5000k, but keep hearing that we should use ones that rate 6500k.

I hear it’s best to trim off all roots that were grown in soil when moving them into water. Have you tried that method? Is it better than letting established roots rot in the tank? Thank you
That’s frustrating, I know, but don’t give up! There are plants that have taken me multiple attempts before I was able to grow them. Even with “easy beginner plants”, Sometimes it takes experimenting with different light intensity, substrates, fertilizers, or even letting the tank age and get more established. Patience , persistence, continual learning and experimenting have been very important. I hope this helps you!
Hey, I got your breeder box idea to work! I just gave you credit in my new video "Implementing the Hanging Back Powered Breeder Box idea from @plantlifeproject" 😀
I started my aquarium journey over a year ago. Making many many mistakes along the way to get a planted tank to work. You've included many of my mistakes in this video. I'm still learning . Still making mistakes. I've not seen your videos till now for some reason. But I've learnt a lot from this video. And the others on your channel. Please make more videos like this with plants in tanks nuggets. So glad I finally found your channel and I accept your invitation 😊
