Just look at a tennis serve. Bodybuilders cannot serve harder than people who cultivate their skill in tennis. The same applies to punching technique and power
Shadowboxing is one of my Best and my usefull Tool for me to Improve My Boxing and Other Martial arts After I Sub into Grant stevens a I learned a lot as Martial artist That's where My punching Technique Improve A lot and Became Almost Look alike Grants "Aesthetic technique" but he has more faster kicks than me haha
6:04 Great video, Grant! It’s such an interesting topic on sabotage, especially with the childhood trauma we experience and how it affects us as adults. I've had my share of moments as an adult where I've questioned why I do certain things, and it's always connected back to my childhood.
Yeh absolutely bro! I found that it was pretty much imperative to begin to understand this stuff for myself when I wanted to do something out of the ordinary, like the whole RU-vid/business thing
Grant. I'm interested in your breakdown of slipping and rolling in your style. I don't often see you utilize this, you end your attacks staticly or with your guard more often. Thanks.
Good drill for this which will improve your overhands is to stand within an inch of your maximum range and reach to touch it with your hand turned inwards as much as you can but as though youre reaching over a head high fence to do it. Your shoulder will naturally come up.
3:33 is my goal, it’s awesome I paused the video to try out the series he was explaining to us and I can tell you as a man whose well over 50 years old I could feel the difference. It was amazing to learn at such an older age, though.
Moreover, it is fundamental principle for all combat sports and traditional martial arts. one of the reasons of declining of traditional arts is that (ironically) "forms" become the emphasis of training. Which doesn't train body alignment and "form" instead of proper shadow boxing and a tool to teach to apply certain efforts become a shitshow.
@@saitama.s3344 I Dont know if its working in some countries but in germany the teachers give a fuck you have to get out of your misery by yourself and the best way to face bullies is with self confidence and violent action
A few years ago I did a review of a section of a company that was going to experience a massive increase in demand. I interviewed a lot of managers and one thing stood out. A manager I spoke to defined the core of his job as 'understanding the nature of the business you are in'. This sounds so simple but it is a major factor in the failed attempts of many people and the few successes of some. People just do not understand what is required to achieve what it is they want. I am sure you find this all the time. My formulae is simple...really define what it is I want and why....understand what is required to achieve that...clear time to make that happen...understand how you will deal with failure along the way...have a big WHY to keep motivated and plan and review...continue to learn...ensure your results have major positive impacts on your life and others (don't be a selfish athlete but be focussed) ...enjoy every aspect of it and be grateful.
Great video, been training on a heavy bag once a week since a year now. In the beginning this was very hard and somewhat dangerous but now i can do it even bare handed on a heavy bag without too much damage on my hands.
They're quite similar already bro, but you wanna not over think it. Just express yourself freely not paying attention to the 'rules' of those styles, which will ultimately limit you. Just do you!
