That was true! The spinners were liable to come loose and fly thru the air hitting people and they were getting sued. Don't know how many times that happened but it did. Enough to call attention to General Motors! No doubt they are beautiful. I have those factory spoke spinner wheel covers on my '64 Buick Riviera.
When I was a teenager, i used to do yard work for an older lady who had a much more base one of these. Standard brakes and steering, powerglide, but it was a two door. Sometimes she would have me drive her places in it. I wished I could have it SO bad. She died a few years later. Never knew what happened to the car.
"She's real fine, my 409 She's real fine, my 409 My 409 [Verse 1] Well I saved my pennies and I saved my dimes (giddy up, giddy up 409) For I knew there would be a time (giddy up, giddy up 409) When I would buy a brand new 409 (409, 409) [Chorus] Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up 409 (giddy up, giddy up 409) Giddy up 409 (409, 409) Giddy up 409 (giddy up, giddy up 409) Giddy up 40..." Thank you Beach Boys.
My wife keeps saying she does not want a new car that listens or spies on us. I keep saying: 1965 Chevy Impala. Great minds run in the same channels. Thanks for the most excellent video and proof I am correct.
Yeah, KILL THE MUSIC!!!!! 😖.• I'm Not A Fan Of That Paint, But A 1965 Impala Super Sport Has Always Been My Favorite Chevrolet Of All Time. It's Just An Exceptionally Handsomely- / Beautifully-Styled Car. Front To Back, Inside And Out, I Think It's The Prettiest Thing Chevrolet Ever Made. Thanks For Showing It.
I met Jim when i was stationed at 29 Palms in the Marines, at the time I had a 68 Charger. Jim was always helpful and let me work on my car in his garage and I even got to ride in his Daytona a few times. Funny story we got pulled over by a California State trooper on our way to a car show in Palm Springs and all he really wanted was to look at Jim's car. Jim and his wife are some of the nicest people you would ever want to meet.
The 65 and 66 Chevrolet Impala reminds me of Elizabeth Montgomery. Those cars have an emotional effect on me from when I was around 10 years old back then. Lots of them were around. Most were the regular with the 283 V8 and the bench seat. They rusted to death very very fast though In the great lakes areas and coastal areas. Here in Houston Tx which is close to Galveston those cars had huge rust holes when they were only 3 years old. A beautiful car, but idiots not treating the sheet metal when they were built
