@OneLastScholar this was the z1 extreme. If I remember rightly I did find some better settings and did a video on that, but overall wasn't a great experience on the original ally or the legion go (mainly down to lack of memory). Tried it on the ally x recently and it's so much smoother. It's one game where the extra memory makes a difference
Not sure why at the time but I think uf you allocated too much memory to the vram it didn't leave enough memory for the game. I think at one point I was running auto. The later in the game you get the less playable it gets. Not a great experience overall. Completed the main story got so far in the dlc then lost interest
Maybe this is something someone in the comments have ran into and found a solution - I started installing the handheld companion until it was taking 2+ hours to complete. Then I saw a pop up prompting me to restart the device, which I did, now I’m stuck on the login screen of the device, my mouse and keyboard are unresponsive. The touch screen is not working and I can’t log in. I’ve tried doing a force restart and no luck. Does any have a resolution??
@PD_JACKSON1 if you have an external keyboard plugged in, can you hit f8 on start up (tap it as soon as you turn on device). If this gets you thr option to start up in safe mode then choose that. Then perhaps see about removing handheld companion, and reinstalling or just a lid using it.
@@HandheldGamingFan thanks a lot, it worked! Soon as I connected the device to my desktop setup/Dell Dongle, I was magically able to use the touchscreen to log in, didn’t even need to go into safe mode. Thanks a lot!
Rest mode is so you can wake the ps5 up from chiaki4deck. In chiaki, choose your ps5 and I'd I remember correctly it will prompt to wake up the ps5 and then you will control it through chiaki
Also, try setting vram to auto in a later video I found the game runs better as it is able to cache shaders etc at the start. Takes a while to load in while it does
Hi. Tell me, please, what other console settings have you made? I have windows ghost compact installed, everything is deleted, the drivers are fresh and with your settings I have 20 fps. Video memory 6 GB, swap file 32 GB, RAM speed 7500 MHz
@ruslangereev5186 the only other change I make is to turn off memory core isolation. Not sure what windows ghost compact is (I'm guessing it's a special minimal windows version) but I don't run that. You say fresh drivers, but are these the latest lenovo graphic drivers).
@mickeymouze5 you can turn off windows updating drivers which makes this less frustrating. answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/how-to-stop-windows-11-from-downloading-drivers/ccff88ed-76cf-4639-b6d7-391566f3d2d5
@gabrielauclair8591 no idea, I don't have either game. One may be working the cpu/gpu harder than the other so the fans are working harder to get rid of the heat generated
@ghantz I use riva statistics tuner. Think this was downloaded as part of handheld companion, more recently I get msi afterburner and riva is downloaded as part of that
Help! I increase the color saturation to looks more deep. But AMD software won’t save the setting every time shutdown or reboot😢. Have to go back to AMD and adjust again!
Do I have to be near my ps5 for this to work? Like if I bought a go out of town and no where near my ps5 can i still use this? Or have to set it up at home first?
You can have this work remotely, but it requires opening up ports and port forwarding on your router -which could potentially make it easier for someone external to get access to your network and devices. Google chiaki and port forwarding, there should be a guide out there
@Jay-oe2od it does, you can get it to work outside of your network, but I was unable to show this in the video, as everyone's router was different and didn't want to potentially set things up wrong and potentially leave viewers networks vulnerable.
Ugh. Setting everything that low to get decent performance and image clarity just isn't worth it in my book. I'll play RE4 Remake on the big PC and some future handheld.
Hey man I'm a big Legion Go gamer there is a new Legion Go UI update coming out this month or next month but it will be a big hope to see you review it.
What vram do you have set. Wondering if it's a memory issue. Try setting it to 6gb. (Not sure what setting I had for the video). Other than that not sure why it would not load up
I still play thus game loads. In legion space set resolution to 1920x1200 before starting the game. In game set window mode to fullscreen windowed. In resolution you should now be able to choose resolution to 1920x1200.
At this rate they might beat bigger console like a ps5 very quickly (not trying to be a fanboy or something) but the fact its almost equivalent to what most steam hardware survey which was the gtx 1060 or more like gtx 1650 (yes i know that there is a gap between them) but the fact its not far from thelis too shows its potential to one day overtake the home consoles in the market if they keep upgrading their consoles like this and its only their first generation which is mind blowing 🤯
Rsr is basically fsr . It also scales everything including the gui. Whereas if a game is using fsr itself it puts the gui up after the image is upscale. You'd never use fsr and rsr at same time.
I can't wait for the Lunar Lake handhelds to come out. I'm saving up to get a Claw but if the new version is announced i'll probably wait. I'm really impressed at how well Intel is updating their drivers.
I think the change I'd like to see most for the claw is being able to allocate vram. There are some games that just won't run without a specific amount (last of us). The claw has come a long way - but there have been some articles making out its still terrible, when it's obvious they haven't updated the bios
MSi CLAW at 30W is still significantly weaker than the Steam Deck/OLED at 15W and less. Of course alongside that, the Deck/OLED is also the best at errything else (controls, battery/power efficiency, display, price, OS, cooling, etc). Unless you're collecting random handhelds, I wouldn't recommend this one Midtel is so inferior to AMD in the past recent years. MSi Claw is over priced. If you don't care about portability, practicality, and/or just really hate Mini PCs, then go for an Ally. It's cheaper, too
@@cqllel5186 - Since the launch the Claw has had multiple driver updates and bios updates that have improved it's performance significantly. It now outperforms the Steam deck in most games now (using a much higher wattage to do so for sure) Games where it doesn't is more down to driver issues than hardware. A recent article by the Verge was misleading - I'm pretty certain that person never updated the bios and on two of the games he had on the list, my tests had fps counts far higher. From a value perspective the claw doesn't make sense still, I would recommend an SD Oled, Ally or Go over this device. However, some people have tried other devices and not liked them and have picked up a Claw. I do think the arrival of the Ally X will mean the claw will have to drop massively in price, but think it will be too little too late.
@@HandheldGamingFan That's neat. The Claw was dead on arrival and so I haven't seen anything Claw-related for months until this vidya popped into my recommended. I don't think the Claw will survive (sell well), just like erry other PC handheld from the past decade. Over priced and over spec'd It's entertaining watching the PC handheld market improve nothing but hardware, 1-upping each other, and keep making the same greedy design choices/flaws that render them obsolete by default erry single time only to never learn from it. It's especially fun when Midtel joins the game and tries to stay relevant :P All PC handhelds that can't play games at low wattages or can't last at least 4h-5h minimum average across games are automatically bad. VALVe set the standard pretty high. It's crazy nobody has made a handheld that can compete with the Deck/OLED. In a Value perspective, choosing any of the PC handhelds over the Deck/OLED wouldn't make sense. Especially when the Deck out performs all PC handhelds at under 15W
@cqllel5186 if playing your game for the longest is your priority then the sd oled is hard to beat. Personally I prefer to have higher resolution, higher graphic settings and higher fps. So long as I can get an hour and a half to 2 hours (or more with a battery pack) I'm good. Plus if I'm playing indies I can drop the tdp down and still play for hours. And if there is a power outlet nearby I don't care about battery life at all.
On my gaming laptop it runs at highest settings and looks great. In this video I am running super low settings to preserve battery. Medium settings looks pretty good on the small screen.
www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/processors/ryzen/ryzen-7000-series/amd-ryzen-7-7840u.html , click on windows 11 64 bit edition then download the amd software adrenalin edition. That should do the trick
@@HandheldGamingFan the chipset driver it is asking me to update is from 2023/12/14 I do the restart after the install but then when I re open the legion space app it is still there.
Thanks. You aren't the first to comment on the swallowing and in later videos I've worked hard on eradicating it. ( this is quite an old video for me). I'm still learning all the little things that can annoy others (and myself). Microphones are very unforgiving. Also its surprisingly nerve wracking making these videos (I'm not a natural presenter) that dries the mouth out. I appreciate the feedback and do work on these things. One option - turn the sound down and put captions up might help you get the information without my annoying gulps
