I wonder what the boat captain was telling all the people on board during this time and when it was filling up with water and the water outside windows and boat was rising up to the windows and just kept Rising above the windows and was capsizing ...why in the hell didn't he have all passengers put on life jackets when it escalated to the point of when the boat started taking on water? Drowning is my biggest fear of dying that way! I would've been going into survivor mode and put a life jacket on and if my kids were on it too i would have trying to break a window or demand they open the canopy! I know they did release the canopy but not until it was too late. And how the people on the boat can see other people in the restaurant and so close but were helpless because they couldnt open windows and the canopy on top of boat. 💔
Well the captain told all the passengers to go to the left side of the boat when it started listing and sinking from the starboard side and he didn't have the passengers put on life jackets because that canopy would have prevented them from escaping because they were submerged underwater and since life jackets are buoyant and help people float up to the top of water the canopy was blocking them from getting out which led to many people drowning even though the captain could have easily opened the canopy as well as the back door sooner before the boat started to capsize to allow more people to escape.
@@bryannamongitore7737 Yeah I already knew that the captain opened the canopy and who is this "she" that you're referring to? Are you talking about that one woman who survived while 9 of her family members died?
In the 50s and 60s the engineers knew nothing of the downsides of dam building they hadn't had dams l9nd enough to know the negative aspects of dam building, just h7ngry and eager for free power, we now know much better , but carry on the same old stupid practices
All the downstream people, complaining about the flood, should try and hold their pee for 24 hours, to understand the problem. Dam management isn't doing this for fun, u'kno..
when in that situation, you head for shore, you don't try to get back to your destination. I'm amazed at people who don't pay attention to the weather. 99% of people have no clue about the weather
@@marsradio do you half a type in a code or something Oh and also I was in one a tornado last night in Forrest City Arkansas the nursing home in Monet was destroyed
@@MrPearsonTheCook I don't remember needing a code. I just downloaded the kmz file from the NWS and then opened it in Google Earth. And yeah the tornadoes were horrible last night. Glad you're okay!
So not one person says hey somebody call the police, fire dept. Instead they sit there babbling about how ots full of people, oh my God the woman keeps saying. It's clearly struggling, yet ohhh those poor people. You can clearly see its fucking sinking, good lord are all people in that state this stupid...or are these people an exception to the rule.. damn.
It's a matter of seconds, before audience realises they're actually witnessing a disaster. So all of those "ohmygod"s was just about people being roughly swinging in the storm and maybe getting abit wet. As soon as the duck started to go, you can hear the silence and single gasps.. The very first call to 911 was in fact the servant girl, from this very showboat, *after* the duck went completely.
Ride the ducks: here you go top ops take these ducks and use the metal to build you hunk of junk :) Top ops: thank you these boats are deadly anyway :)
I remember when this happened, I was with my mom and we were heading back to our house and on the radio in our car I heard "There was a duck boat in Missouri that had capsized and no one was wearing life jackets when the duck boat sank, it has been reported that 17 people have died" after hearing that report I was shocked and at the time I didn't even know those things existed l, I felt really bad for what happened, my prayers go out to everyone involved in this terrible tragedy
U would think the captain if the dinner boat would have went to help. U would also think the dinner ship passengers would be rushing to demand the captain to help
And yet, people still live there. Probably rebuilding, again, until the next big storm hits. And I'll bet, you'll hear the same quotes again "I never saw this coming, we had no warning, how can this happen", etc.
Ya know it’s kinda hard to move over 50 billion in housing and business to somewhere new. It’s much easier to just stay there. It’s rarely hit anyway, that would be like saying let’s pack up all of New Jersey and everyone in it to go somewhere else cause of a few terrible hurricanes every few decades. Not smart
@@kennypowers1945 Thats fine, but it comes at a cost, and it seems to be such a big shock to people every year. As George Carlin said "you build your house next to an active vulcano, and wonder why there's lava in the living room". I would surely not rebuild after getting flattened by an EF5 tornado, that's for sure
What a bunch of fucking assholes not calling 911. They should be charged for not helping a distressed vehicle!! A bunch of fucking idiots drinking, eating watching like it's on television!!
Great video but couldn't help but notice that the moore Oklahoma tornado was at least an ef4 within the first 5 minutes, I've seen many videos where chasers were saying the same and broadcasters, best video that shows this is by twisting fury which most have probably seen by now
So sad that was a terrible day they shouldn't heen out there that day they knew that storm was coming i lived 250 miles from Branson Missouri may rest in peace to the 17 people lost there life's that day
This is the one's working this attraction's fault. I know unpopular opinion people. Think about it though okay? They should have looked at the clouds and said "Sorry everyone we're postponing the duck rides till this passes" SMH
Actually, you are absolutely correct. There had been a Severe Thunderstorm WATCH in effect for several hours, and then a WARNING was issued about 30 minutes before they even launched into the water. They thought they could beat the storm. They were wrong.
I have been on a duck boat before years ago in Hot Springs Arkansas, I did not like it. And it was on a clear and sunny day. The water looked like it was coming up higher and higher like it was gonna spill into the boat. I couldn't swim very well back then. Also the captain kept making jokes about the boat sinking which I didn't think was funny.
