I'm an almost 40-year-old Montana man and I really do think Gossip Girl is easily one of the greatest shows of all time. And I mean for any genre, anywhere. All time!
The worst ending to a series I can remember. The ending wasn't written from the beginning it was thought up a few years into the shows run. But the point still stands, why keep running away from the ending only to butcher the ending by sticking to the planned ending? They were far away from the original ending guess what, CHANGE THE ENDING to something that fits where the show ended up. The alt ending shows how everyone well everyone now wanted the show to end. No matter how much time passes and how much BS they do to explain the ending. It still sucks and a massive failing. What a way to destroy years of story telling and character building.
respectfully in my opinion, you’re horribly wrong. dead city was the worst of the 3 spinoffs but even that one id give a 6.8/10. daryl’s was 9/10 and the ones who live was 7-7.5 at the lowest.
Step 2A: use the same designers, cinematographers, editors, composers, crew - the House Band - on every goddamn bland generic soulless cinema-killing picture.
I don't care about James bond that much... But I never likes Daniel Craig as James bond... It never felt right for me, he feels like a mission impossible actor, not James bond. He is so invested...
I think the 28 Days Later movie started it off for me. Then here in the UK we had a tv show on CH4 called Survivors which was basically Walking Dead without the zombies, a remake of a show from around 50 years ago. Lord knows why but Survivors was given a really sucky timeslot and struggled for numbers even though word of mouth was getting it a bit of a cult following. They canned it after 2 seasons. Gutted we were left with what could've been as Walking Dead came out the following year. It died for me with the introduction of Negan and his group who for me just came across as an unrealistic cartoon character.
one thing that always bothered me, was that whoever made ricks hatchet prop, made it a straight wood handle. it always looked like a cartoon hatchet to me.
me when I went to watch a FANTASTIC BEASTS movie and the movie was about anything BUT Fantastic beasts...Heck a movie about Newt traveling, uncovering new creatures, facing difficult challenges and using the beasts to tackle said challenges (like he did in the first movie kinda sorta?) would have been interesting. Seeing a wizard draw "power" from something other than their magic would have been interesting to see. Even in the first movie I would have LOVED to see even more of the fantastic beasts that were promised to me by the literal title of the movie. Anyways ...bummer we didnt get that. Would also have been an opportunity for Jacob, a human and Queenie as someone that both dont have the stongest magical powers (Jacob having none at all) to somehow join newt in his travels and with the help of these creatures face and overcome challenges as well. Jacob would finally have the opportunity to do something against other wizards instead of just doing nothing because HE LITERALLY CAN´T SINCE HE IS A REGULAR HUMAN. In DnD there is a thing called a false Hydra (just look it up but it´s a super scary concept for a creature) and they could have added them encountering something similar to that which would have added so much more mystery and curiosity to the whole plot than anything they did in the 2nd and 3rd movie. They also wouldnt have broken the canon that much. Sure they established Grindelwald as their main villain but he could have very well went after a way to break the blood pact or defeat dumbledore using some mystery creature that the main gang wants to protect bc that´s just what Newt does, granted they would have had to approach the whole franchise in a different way to build up that plot and so on but there would have been so many possibilities on where to go with a movie about fanstastic beasts. I can´t properly explain myself quite yet since i´m still learning english (your videos help a ton with it though I really love how well-structured and written they are and I´m so happy I found this channel!) but I hope it was kind of understandable what I was trying to propose (?)
I was done with it when they killed okafor. They were building up a very interesting new character and they killed him off… in the same episode. Like come on man.
This show is a homo-sexual erotic dream where the main writer is a Harvey Winestein wannabe who is using the cast as his paid captive harem who he can use and abuse at will. In the age of the me too movement how does the creepy main writer of this awful show get away with this crap? It would be laughable if it were actually funny. Roberto is a strange funny little man and Riverdale is his "Sex Toy Story". This show does not have a friend in me!
Maybe I'm late for the conversation, but man, you really missed the mark regarding the ending. How about you read a book?? May I recommend "Love in the time of chollera"?? That is Ted's favorite book and is the source material for the series, and the ending of the first chapter of the novel is literally the ending of How I met your mother. I'll accept that the last episodes which end Barney and Robin's relationship and kill off the mother are pretty rushed, but it is based on the premise of the novel. All these people agreeing with you are just missing a piece of the puzzle...and 10 years later you all still don't get it...what a waste. It is a great series including the finale.
I feel like the only “Netflix” movie that feels like it was made by a director and not a AI is Extraction 1 & 2. Out of all the John Wick clones I’d rate those two pretty highly.
They’re allergic to recasting. Bringing back the actor who played Jango/the clones to play Boba sounds cool on paper, until you remember that the character is supposed to be the same age as Han Solo and is very clearly an old man. Can’t even use the “accelerated aging” claim because he explicitly did not have that. Plus, the actor being older makes the action so boring. This guy is meant to be cool and I’m just thinking “slow down grandpa” they should’ve used the actor who played him as a kid, he already voices him in everything let him play the character again. Who cares if he isn’t identical it’s a tv show
i agree that season 2 missed the mark, but didnt rue herself say in one of the very first episodes she wasnt the most reliable narrator? ive been rewatching it lately so gimme a sec i think it was the pilot update: around 36:20 in the pilot rue says "theres a couple different versions of what happened that night, it depends who you ask; and to be honest im not always the most reliable narrator" i think this isnt used to justify plot holes etc but i think its more to point out that rue is telling the story as she knows it from a future perspective. like the entire series is a backstory leading to wherever rue is at "now" (likely the writers dont even know what that is and will abandon that original perspective of rues narration)
It seems to me that the Victory Project pays Jack to take care of his wife and keep her in the simulation. This answers why a loser has a breakdown over a job he didn't want in order to continue to play his video game (the simulation). What it doesn't answer is the question of why does Frank and his wife want to keep women in the simulation? Bunny made her decision, but what about her husband? Does he know? Frank isn't in control, supposedly it's his wife. Why would she want to keep women trapped in the simulation? There was no reason for them to keep anyone in the simulation unless we got some kind of hint that they make money off of kidnapped people forced into the Project??? Idfk, bro
This book series was written way before the " to all the boys I ever loved before" But whatever. People with no background or understanding of historical lifestyle wouldn't understand this show. Its inaccurate but at least it was much loved book series in the early 2000s Bridgerton is as bad as spartacus and GoT. I hate all those shows equally.
It never ceases to amaze me how men and women are so surprised that some one could end up pregnant after having sex. It is litetteraly the main reason for intercourse. If people are to stupid to realise this they should not be having sex. Water is wet, fire burns, sex produces babies! Duh!
Actualy, as a product of the times and as he saw him as a son, Klaus's attitude about Marcel makes perfect sense. Do not attribute modern days human mores to a thousand year old vampire.
The plot hole you talk about can be explained like this: Klause's blood line is more than a thousand years old so therefor his warewolf blood could be the progenetor of Hope's mothers genetic line. That would give legitimacy to Klaus being the actual one to end the Hallow. After all it has been a thousand years so the profecy could be off some what. I personally do not think that Klaus and Elijah should have died at all.
I made it shortly after carl died... and it wasnt even because he died. Mostly i just realized that the some 2 plots would repeat itself perpetually. " oh no i need xyz... but its there, next to a hoard a walkers/ some faction and or faction war" and i only really watched for carol past like season 4 or whenever her polt development really set in but it could knly carry so far. Additionally i didnt even realize i quit the show innitially, i think like a month or so passed before i noticed i hadnt watched it 😅. I couldnt get into the FTWD i watched like 2 episodes. It was just time for the shoe to end. And the dyral dixon show with the mutated walkers starts to lean into common zombie gimmicks, left for dead comes to mind 🤷♂️ its just needs to he done. A swift knife to the head
I love The Originals. I tolorate The Vampire Diaries. However, Legacy is soooooo aweful it makes me want to pluck out my eyes and kick a puppy. The TVPD universe really screwed the pooch on that one. Makes me want to go back and insure the witches make sure Hope is never born. It makes me sad to say that, but there it is. Legacy sucked!
There’s a huge difference between bad acting and bad writing. In TWD’s case, bad writing is pretty much evident. If only Frank Darabont hadn’t been fired…
I read somewhere that the initial screenwriters came to JKR with the pitch of a Scamander mockumentary, because JKR had to give the go ahead on everything potterversian, and she was like "yeah, i was thinking of something like that, but a 5-parter set during the 1st Wizarding war". WB saw $$, and the cute wizard animal movie was made into a title
The first time I heard about The Vampire Diaries (TVPD) I hated the show and its concept. To me it was Beverly Hills 90201 with vampires. The only reason, and I mean the ONLY reason I EVER decided to watch the show was because I fell in love with The Originals. If not for Klaus and Elijah I would have never had a reason to ever watch TVPD and my life would have been the happier for it. In fact I know that the only good thing to come out of and the only reason TVPD should have only existed is to bring about the existence of The Originals. Klaus and Elijah need to exist.
