Hi Andy, Thank you for sharing the review of the filter. I bought one this week and was astounded how much this mesh filter captures. It's an awesome piece of kit.
Eazypods are a great bit of kit easy to clean you do have to get the flow rate right for your needs as every pond is different, and stocking levels will also have an impact as well, which is why I have added extra filtration to my setup.
Nice job on the Easypod Buddy. There are some cracking fish available there for someone and I know yours come out in mint condition. Best Wishes Mate 👍

Good catch up , always something needing to be done when you keep a koi pond , cleaning, replacing parts fixing leaks, checking water quality, checking fish health, but it's so worth it when you can find the time to just sit and enjoy watching beautiful fish. Gwen 🧓
Thanks for the snail related shout out🐌🐌🤣. Much appreciated. Some nice new additions from the Koi Connection. Glad you got the ball valve installed on the Eazy Pod. Ball valves tend to be much more reliable than the slide valves, just unfortunate they cost so much more.
Hi Andy I put the snail issue up on a koi forum a few years ago Lots of people was saying they don’t bother the fish etc but my argument is that there waste amount when there’s lots of them does I had two ponds at the time one with the snails one without and the perimeters were quite different but they had the same amount of fish in fed the same food and both ponds was next to each other so no difference I’m convinced they get in through tap water If you look down the inside of your easy pod once you’ve emptied to waste you’ll see little clear blobs like bonjella that’s the eggs I’ve not found anything to get rid of them other than rinsing them off using a brush to waste if you do get somebody to answer the question I’d like to read the update Also I need to change my gate valve on the waste to ball valve so look forward to seeing you do it
Hi mate, I've no idea how they got in there, and I've seen the eggs that I try to remove, and I'm slowly getting on top of them by removing them by hand but I'm still looking for a treatment to sort them properly and when I do I will put it in a video and hopefully you swap your slide valve it a fairly easy job 👍

Hi Andy, my veg filter returns to the pond as a waterfall, it has yellow flag iris, blue iris, water lily, arum lily and reeds. I had a major problem with aquatic snails in the veg filter and vortex. I added 3 musk turtles to the veg filter problem solved, not a snail in site. I have a few videos of it on here and might be worth a watch before you carry on with yours. Cheers 🤓
Thanks for commenting, im also returning via a waterfall, re the snails there in the easypod filter so the turtles wouldn't be a good idea lol. I'll take a look at your video though and thanks for the plant ideas 👍🏻
@@DerbyKoi The snails had got into my vortex as well as the veg filter all I can think is they went through the filter system to end up as the turtles lunch

That was so nice of Jacob to send along the gifts for Bizley. He's a lucky dog. 🐕👍🏻 Veg garden is starting to come along. Looking forward to seeing it up and running soon. Not sure how to eliminate the snails but how about collecting all the ones you find and giving them away when you reach the 3000 subscriber mark, 3000 snails for 3000 subs prize. 🤣🤣🤣

Sorry to hear that the koi community have lost one of their own. Hopefully you won't get any more electric problems it's one thing you can really do without especially when your away thank goodness you had the cameras and a good neighbour to deal with it quickly. Condolences to Mark's family. Sorry to hear about your fish loss. I always worry about the potential for power failures so have my air and main pond pump on two different circuits so if one fails for any reason the other should (fingers crossed 🤞🏻) will remain on. Bizley obviously enjoyed his time at the beach. Hopefully both you and Graham felt well enough to enjoy your time away as well. 👍🏻
Can you believe it, power cut on the one time your away... Wet sandy Bizley in the caravan would have been a challenge. Glad to hear you and Graham are on the mend...😷👍👍
Found this very interesting, I'm wondering if my pod has been altered because my rubber boot on the centre pole only sits 18cm away from the top so I am gonna struggle to fit my sculpted layers filter on top as I need 25cm....
It definitely sounds like it's set up for gravity fed I will measure mine later and check because I have both types but do you mean 18cm to the top of the return pipe?
@hazzardoutdoors I will measure mine when I get home, but it does sound like it's set up for gravity fed, and if it is, it's very easy to change back to pump fed but the filter will work on both setups.
On catch up Buddy, very well made products, effective and depending on the state of fines in your water use over a predetermined time scale. All perfectly demonstrated here in your vid. Nice update and well done Ian for producing these 👍
Hello mate, i am trying to decide between these and the beer filter. I am thinking one of these. But just wanna check on looking down my centre pipe and it has a rubber boot clamp about half way down. Is this normal or has mine had some modification in the past which will not allow me to fit this sculpted layer filter instead?
Hi mate it all depends on if it is gravity or pump fed but the filter will fit on both and do you mean it has just a metal clamp halfway down or the rubber boot?
