Welcome to RV Site 2 Sight. We are Steve and Rennie Atkins. We have been happily married since 1968, and are still very much in love. We love spending time together. We have 2 married adult children, and ten grandkids. We want to produce videos that will tell you about campsites (private, state, national, BLM, etc.), and sights in each location. Your journey with us starts soon, so please subscribe today. We also post travel and how-to videos on a regular basis.
Hi Steve, I enjoyed your video. We are very similar in our outlook, philosophy’s and family values. My wife and three children camped since they were literally a few months old, they are all grown now and have left the nest leaving us with our two precious English bulldogs, Maisey and Ona. We still do some camping in our RV bus. I’ve never drank alcohol, just didn’t acquire a taste for it and don’t care for how it impacts some folks. None of our three children really indulge either. I have no problem with folks that like to have a drink or two but not to excess….just don’t understand that attraction. Interesting how out of your favorite rv channels, I also follow about 3/4 of them. You might try watching a channel called, “travels with Dottie”. It’s a very low key, drama free and down to Earth channel.. I find it relaxing. Your breakfast sandwich looks delicious. I was raised eating fried spam in various dishes and my wife and three kids also love it. Seems unpopular these days but we love it! Thanks for sharing and see you next time!
I appreciate this video. I try to watch all your videos. My wife and I live in Swansboro. We been married almost 50 years, I retired from the US Courts in 2013 and moved here from Raleigh. I teach drivers ed.,part-time. My wife is a retired nurse. I appreciate you expressing your family values. We also follow Nathan & Marissa. I love his statement, Christian, Husband & Father. We got into RVing just in the last few years. . We live in an RV park in Deep Creek RV, Hubert, but we have a travel RV, we travel. I have been to Falls Lake and the State Park in Washington, after we saw your videos. Thanks, In Jesus name, God bless! Keep up the Great content. Jeffrey & Suzanne Elmore
I agree. This was our first experience camping at a COE park. As a veteran, I got a 50% discount and only paid $17 per night! We will be searching out COE parks in our future travels. Thanks for watching and commenting!
We just bought our new RV on September 5th. 2024 Left the dealership got 50 miles down the road and the west lake tire blew. We didn’t even feel it. Another vehicle flagged us down. We stopped and the Rt front tire of the RV unit was shredded. It torn up our fender and lower entry step brace was bent 😡4 days in and no return call from the tire department that handles the warranty 😡
The Westlakes are horrible. I bought four new tires, and since have sold the unit. I now have a 2024 Grand Design Reflection 337 fifth wheel with Goodyear Endurance tires. Hopefully, these will last. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hello, great video. I’ve camped for 49 years. We’ve had every kind of rv made including a tent, pop up, truck camper, trailers, class c, gas class A’s and a few diesel pusher class A’s. We currently have a 45’ diesel pusher w/4 slides. We might sell it as it’s huge and our 3 children are grown and moved away. I think maybe a class a around 30’. We’ve had the best time camping and our children loved it. We believe in family values and a close family so we spent a lot of time with in-laws, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and grandparents over the years. We have the best memories as a big family. Personally, I think spending time in the outdoors camping with family is one of the best things for the soul. Thanks for sharing your journey! Safe travels.
Yes, my children grew up camping. We went everywhere. My wife and I talk often about how blessed we were (and are) to carry on our adventures. Although we've been most of the well-known destinations, we still have a few to go. Our kids are all grown, and we have 10 grandkids. I'm a retired bi-vocational minister, and I not only performed the marriage ceremonies for my kids, I am now performing them for my grandkids. One of my grandsons (27) will be featured in my new cooking segment on September 22nd. Stay tuned. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Oh, no! I hope I didn't give the impression they fixed it for free. I think it was somewhere around $2500. My truck is a 2007, so it hasn't seen warranty for a long, long time. The engine high pressure oil system was not building enough pressure to fire the injectors (showing 200psi. Needs minimum 500psi). Changed Dummy Plugs and Stand Pipes. 2000 miles later, running great! Thanks for watching and commenting.
The side of the cabinet is thin plywood (paneling). I simply cut a piece of 1x4 to fit vertically near the back corner; then stained it. After that, I mounted the TV bracket to the outside using the bracket screws which was secured into the 1x4. I hope that helps. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Other than the truck issue,it sounds like it was a great adventure. Glad y'all are safe and enjoyed the trip. I'll have to check out Kentucky when it's cooler. 105° at 620pm here in the Dallas TX area today.
Hey Randy, yes it's been a hot summer. We went camping last week, and decided we're going to wait until fall to go again! Thanks for watching and commenting!
Hi Jerry, actually it was not clickbait. It had rained considerably, and there were several places in the road where it looked like it could easily cave in. There were also place where cave-ins had occured and had been shored up with concrete. There were two places where the guardrail was destroyed, and it was obvious that something had gone over at that point. I do know one thing, as nice as Beech Fork State Park is, I'll not be returning until they fix that horrible road. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I’m from WV and have camped at Beech Fork many times. It’s one of our favorite state parks to camp at. The road is very narrow and winding but slow and easy will get you there safely. The route that you came is actually the best of the three roads if you can believe that. You need to at least bring your wife back one more time and make sure it’s a holiday weekend. She will definitely enjoy that ride. 😂
Hi Kevin, yep when I was a boy, I traveled roads similar to these. I lived on top of a high ridge until I was 18. However, with the amount of taxes we pay, roads should be better to a park like this. I travel one of the other routes in, and I agree, it was worse. Fortunately, I was not pulling 14,000 pounds when I checked it out. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I'm with you. I will be 66.5 when we start our full time adventure. We are looking at Predator 5000 watt. We just started researching hitch type hoist for the Chevy 3500 we just got brand new. I didn't even think I would need it for the electric bikes we plan on getting.
I actually bought Harbor Freight's hitch hoist. It works well. I am 76 now, and things I did easily at 66 are not so easy now. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Gina. Yeh, the Thetford was a no-go for me. I just didn't like the design. The Dometic 320 looks like a residential toilet, and the bidet fits perfectly. This one was installed on my Grand Design Reflection 297. I recently bought a new Reflection 337 fifth wheel, and the first thing I did was take out the Thetford and install a Dometic 320. Thanks for watching and commenting.
sorry if this is a duplicate, i don't see a search option for the commentsAND replies... So the 320 is hard to come by, I guess they don't make it as they don't sell it anymore. Why that model and what is the issue with the 300 or 310 or other models. 320 is still out in some stores that haven't sold their stock so is/why is it worth that model. I want to put a full size toto bidet on that I've gotten so used to and it's elongated like you put in. I have a smaller bathroom so what are the key measurements? Is there a standard offset from the wall so I know if my porcelain round throne can be replaced? I have a class C Coachman Leprechaun 319MB 2022. I do all my own plumbing so I just need to know what are the critical measurements and problem areas to check on. My foot lever broke during ther super hard freeze we had this winter and doesn't operate the water valve so I've got to do something so should I just pull the toilet and measure? The black take is double rinsed out-- Thanks--Dave
Hey Dave. The Dometic 320 can be bought from Amazon: amzn.to/45QA7t1. I also just bought a Dometic 320 from Camping World two months ago. I just bought a new Grand Design Reflection 337 fifth wheel, and the first thing I did was remove the Thetford commode and install the Dometic. According to the manual the distance from the wall to the center of the drain needs to be 11 inches. Thanks for watching and commenting. Steve
As a Texan that stops at Buc-ees whenever I'm traveling to Houston, I can tell you the BBQ is 'just' mediocre at best. The meat is okay, but they have no flavor.
Hey Cathy. Buc-ee's is unique, and a fun place to see. However, IMHO the food is way overpriced. Like I told Tex, the best bbq is done in my smoker in my own backyard... amazing! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Thanks, Karen. There are many more videos to come about this trip. The second leg was our trip to Beech Fork State Park in WV. ... and we thought the roads to the ridge were narrow... stay tuned.
I am having the same problem in my RAM 2500. Great idea. No welding. ❤great video. Thanks. Very informative! Now to find someone who can add it to my truck!
Just bought one of these cranes and have been pondering how to reinforce my Ford's aluminum sheet metal. I think the only thing you missed with your reinforcing plate is extending it to the side (towards the center of the bed), Your reinforcement is great for fore and aft loads, but in use the crane will swing sideways, so more reinforement there would be helpful. Thanks for the video!
Just found your channel!!! Binge watching on a sunny day! Great job! We are now a sub. We are curious, since some time has passed, are still happy with this washing machine?
Thanks for your sub! This is a great little washing machine for small loads. However, we just bought a new 2024 Grand Design Reflection 337rls fifth wheel, and we are adding the Splendide washer and dryer stack. Stay tuned! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hey Randy, we did our homework. In the 10 year history of the Reflection 337s, there has not been any issues with the frame. Thanks for watching and commenting.
@@RVSite2Sight same here, brother. I did an intense 5 day research on the 337RLS. It now stands at over 11,000 units sold since its inception, not one report of frame failure/flex, the highest selling unit in its class, it ranks at the top for not having frequency of repairs, the 337RLS is a wildly popular unit for good reason. We just towed our 2024 2,000 miles from Arizona to Minnesota and not one one problem. You're very correct, this is actually our 5th Grand Design camper. In our tenure of camping we've also tried 3 other brands. None of them compared to Grand designs overall quality.
Hi folks. I checked out your channel. I too have been in business many years... 55 to be exact. I have found that success is built on failure. I tell people that I live my life out on the limb... why? Because that is where the fruit is. When a limb starts cracking behind me, I jump to the end of another limb. Some of my failures have been very costly. I make adjustments and move on. I'm sure Grand Design will do the same thing. I, like you, base my decisions on what is best for me. Others can do the same. I like what you say. Congrats on your new 337. And thanks for watching and commenting on my video. Steve
You seem like nice folks. I sure hope you did your homework regarding GD and their frame failure rate on the Solitude and Momentum models. Keep a close eye for it while you are under your warranty period.
Just an FYI for you, the Reflection 337RLS has been in production for 10 years, has over 10,084 units sold just of that model, has no reported frame failures and wont because it's a much lighter unit and is a mid profile design. Very good camper with a very proven track record.
I think if you went to the factory to see how they were made you might change your mind. You will also have visit other manufactures as well so you can see how they should be made.
If I do, it will be because of the crazy mandates imposed on corporations with over 100 employess during the pan... Most corporations lost a huge amount of employees during that time, and now we are paying the price. Thanks for watching and commenting.
I have owned 9 RVs during the last 50 years. Some bad, some good. However, my experience with Grand Design has been good. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Hi Gerald, I guess everything is based on one's experience. My first RV was a 1970 Nomad. It was horrible. After that, the 1993 Prowler travel trailer was one we had for several years, and it was absolutely the best one in our history of RVs. I had several Fleetwood travel trailers (now manufactured by Heartland), and two of them were awful. We bought a new 2005 Fleetwood Providence motorhome, and it leaked from day one. However, we loved it. We just fixed the leak. I have a 2019 Grand Design Reflection 297rsts. It has been phenomenal. Now, our 9th RV is this Reflection 337rls. With 50 years experience RVing, I know RVs in and out, and my experience with Grand Design has been great! Thanks for watching and commenting.
Grand Design never again, look elsewhere or buy property and build a cabin. My GD 25G has been nothing other than me maintaining a rig that should have been solid from the purchase but was instead a leaking mess of a trailer with a frame that rusted from the time I brought it home. All trailer manufactures are poor, but others are better the GD, don't fall for their quality BS like I did and look elsewhere.

Thank you, Josh and Karen. We are excited about this new RV. Right now, I am trying to get it ready to minimize the effort getting set up and camping. Fortunately, this one levels itself, so that really helps. The slide out tray that I have installed makes it easy to access everything. As I get older... well, I am definitely feeling it. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Take a look at the Jayco North Point and Pinnacle front living room models. Gorgeous and every Jayco model we have owned over the past 40 years has been problem free as far as build quality. Safe travels.
