Its peggy carters brother micheal that shot jack because jack had the file of micheal he wanted the file back and peggys brother faked his death so he can be engaged in more nefarious activitys and peggys brother would of been the villian for season 3
The book is a genius plot device with its bright Orange cover heavily transitioning against the Blue surroundings of Lumon. This isn’t meant to be a genius self-help book, it’s meant to feel like you’re reading your best mates final major project, but is what adds to its charm. In the final episode of season 1 we finally see Ricken open up about his own self doubts and insecurities and in a beautifully full circle scene innie Mark tells him that it changed his life, and for someone like Ricken that had to mean so much, and is so ironic considering outie Mark doesn’t seem to particularly care for Ricken.
this stupid self help book joke works so well when you realise that these poor severed people have never read an actual book other than the ones limon gives them. So what is on the outside world a dubious and tedious book, becomes within the confines of lumon a revolutionary tool to break free from control and oppression. This show is so well written it’s amazing, they literally made Ricken into an accidental bumbling Karl Marx lmao.
Did anyone notice that the direction of the door is incorrect at 0:09 ? It is a push/pull door, but she pushes it both ways even though that can only happen on exit.
The scene feels awkward because they KEEP staring at each other! Like… I’m an introvert and could never stare at people for sooo long but omg they NEVER STOP.
You know begin to understand why they so desesperatedly saved her life when she tried to kill herself. And why the series never shows us the outys lives so we cannot suspect on helly.
If anyone is curious about what TV that is its a Sony Trinitron KX-1901a! Part of the Sony Profeel a line of prosumer TV sets from the 80s that was very very expensive at the time. They are super cool!
You forgot the best line. When the severed group meets in the supply closet, just before they go to enact their plan, Mark reads a passage from the book to inspire everyone. “Your boss may own the clock that taunts you from the wall, but my friends, the hour is yours.” Honestly, a really good line. 👍
Made so much sense the second time my husband and I watched the show. I like thar you merged them but I love the art of the "thru the severed eyes". It's brilliant! Cant wait for season 2 finally
I like them as friends. Now that innie Mark knows Ms Casey is his thought-for-dead wife, Gemma, I hope they develop feelings. It seemed like they cared for each other under the surface. Im sad that Ms. Casey got 'restored to factory settings' right after enjoying spending time with the MDR crew. So cruel
honestly i’m not 100% sure that gemma (ms casey) is actually alive. mark and even devon seem quite convinced that she died in a car crash so if that’s the case is gemma really alive? or has lumon got some kind of tech where they can clone her or make her conscious or smthg. this is just my take and she may actually be alive but i suppose it would be interesting to see if we get told anymore details about the crash, i.e was mark just told that she “died in a crash” (in wish case she may be alive and they managed to abduct her or smthg) or did he actually physically see her body and has concrete proof that she died that way 🤔
@@jackiesummer9126 Given how Severance works, that has to be her actual self. Doesn't work like Source Code (if you've seen that movie; another great mindbender). She COULD be a twin, but given how thoughtful and tight the writing was, I'm 99% sure that's not the case. Now, whether she is restored in the real world in future seasons remains to be seen. I'M more interested in what Harmony's fixation with Mark was. She monitors him, sure. But her strange mixed messaging at the party was weird (when she tells him, "Get as far away from Lumin as you can" while hugging him at the party in episode 9).
@@KevvoLightswift yeah i agree, with the way severance works, gemma as to be alive. that’s why i’m hoping the ambiguity surrounding her “death” will slowly get cleared up. i just- with how good the writings been, it would make sense that mark/devon or anyone weren’t able to see gemma’s body after she died. but i also had a slight feeling they may even go the clone/twin route, in which the real gemma is actually dead. as for harmony, i don’t have a clue what her agenda is and i think that makes her the most intriguing/dangerous character of the lot. she appears to be incredibly loyal to kier, but that may not necessarily mean that she is loyal to lemon. i’m so keen for them to explore her character more,
Imagine Dylan; he goes into a Lumon elevator, doors closes then wakes up in a closet with Milchik asking him about work, a kid comes up to hug says 'Daddy', Milchik pulls his son away, then you wake up to an elevator door. No wonder Dylan was pissed.
Being an innie is the worst hell imaginable. You are basically working 24 hours a day, every day, forever. In a sterile office and cubicle. No one could deal with that, they’d all go insane
I really appreciate that Ricken occasionally stumbles upon keen insights in a sea of rambling thoughts, like any self-help book that overestimates its own expertise
Having finished the season: is this really Dylan's response to seeing someone from the office IN HIS HOUSE, IN HIS CLOSET? "We good here?" I wonder if the script was revised at some point to show him a lot more freaked out...
The "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGHAWWWWFUCK!" while Milchik is on the phone slayed the shit out of me on first watching. I had to pause for 5 minutes to compose myself. 😹
Love the show, but the whole point of the experiment is to have a productive person working away doing awful tasks while the other side of you only experienced the great parts of life. I just don’t see how they could stop the condemned side of you from killing or harming themselves. This video certainly wouldn’t stop me. Nothing they could do to you would actually stop any of this. Locking you up in a padded room means you’re not working. Sedating you…same problem. Even torture eventually creates a shell of a human who can’t function or work. Ultimately it’s lose lose for the innie anyway. They pull the plug and turn the whole brain back over to the outside you, you’re dead. You kill yourself, you and the outie die. So what’s the difference?
