I scene: Helly's Innie fails to leave Lumon Industries II scene: The other side of her attempt to exit (Helly's Outie) III scene: Both scenes are merged (Helly's Innie and Outie) TV Show: Severance (season 1)
The writing on this show was just amazing. I had no idea at all why Milchick said her being there was a miracle. I love a show where I don't catch on early to what's happening at all.
I think I was so blown away by the concept and how they executed I wasn’t even paying attention to what he said. I was like, OMFG I love how they did that
Miracle because I think her father was against severance and he was eliminated by the Eagan’s. She talks about her dad in past tense at gala in the final episode
Helly R. is a fascinating character. Her outie is the most enthused about the company and it’s practices, but her innie hates it more than Mark, Irving, and Dylan put together.
I feel like because her outie is actually aware of how horrible the innies are treated it has an effect on her innie, making her want to leave more than the others.
@@snmcfadden Or she is just a "bitch" who doesn't care about "others" and hurts them to her benefit but if she is the one who suffers, she cries about it but I'm more thatn hyped to see how she will react to all of that, it seemed sometimes in the finale like she liked the fact that she is famous and rich in "real life" too much.
Instantly one of the most interesting characters I've ever seen. The dynamic of her wanting so desperately to escape but being the one keeping herself imprisoned is just awesome. Love this show.
Britt Lower has so much style in everything - the way she speaks, her dress, her smile. She really impressed me with that dialogue - “Well, boss. I guess this is the part where I should tell you to go to hell. Except you’re already here.”
@@Amal-pc6ufLol I realised that just now after your comment. I thought that was some trick by the organisers so that the participants couldn't leave. And also wondered how that worked
Woof, when Outtie Helly says, "I don't want to be in there, do I?" and horrible Milchick says her outtie will learn to want to be there eventually... Come on, girl, how can you still stand by severance when your innie immediately hated it? Thanks for splicing these scenes together, btw! Pretty cool
I'm with @UgetMe09. It's clear in the later episodes Helena doesn't consider Helly a person but a stubborn her. Both sides of her are strong willed but Helena has a lot riding on being there.
That innie is showing all the apprehension Helena has about her role in the company. Deep down she doesn't want to be there hence Helly's endless escape attempts
When i was put under, i recall seeing the drug injected, then feeling dizzie and thinking that it was working and was gonna fall asleep, but then i kept moving and realised the procedure was over and was actually waking up. So for me, that one second of seeing the drug into my arm and then feeling dizzie was actually 45 minutes. I was also dressed and moved from one room to another.
Something like this happened to me when I was a kid and I went to sleep. I remember falling into my bed and then it was the next day. I wasn’t even tired, so I don’t know what happened, but this is the only time I’ve experienced something like this.
@@alflemon2783 happened to me once! i "woke up" on the couch all dressed in my uniform as a kid and ready to go. i don't remember ANYTHING that happened before, and when i asked my parents if i fell asleep they just said no, i've just been sitting there the whole time. fascinating

Where has the footage come from? It’s not in the final cut . And why can’t Milchick be seen through the window by Helly R ?

The "RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAUGHAWWWWFUCK!" while Milchik is on the phone slayed the shit out of me on first watching. I had to pause for 5 minutes to compose myself. 😹
How amazing would it be if the music lined up perfectly. Using a softer version for the outie scenes to keep the same tone and feel but have them line up perfectly

Sadly I haven't thought of this before... Anyway thanks for your advice!
This is so fucked up like ur innie is basically enslaved by the outie as the working class citizen with no free will, trapped in the office forever until she dies old at this point possibly…christ…
Yes, “retirement” for innies is death. They simply cease to exist, having never known any life outside of the Lumon building’s basement severance floor. As Irv says at Burt’s retirement party: “you’re all just going to let him die?” With this show, the more you think about it, the more horrifying it is.
People in a corporate workplace forced to make work their whole lives in order to benefit 'themselves', but really benefiting mysterious capitalist overlords? How different to modern reality!
SPOILERS (obviously, you shouldnt be in this comment section if you haven't finished the season): I picked up on that weird line from Milchick "What you're doing is amazing." But I didn't know why he said it. Then during the midseason when Helly tried to kill herself but her outie forced her to come back anyways, it clicked for me. No one would let someone else suffer that much, much less a different aspect of oneself, unless they had a stake in the game, so I theorized that Helly was doing some kinda undercover boss situation. It felt so good to be vindicated at the end of the season. The fact that the reveal is set up so brilliantly throughout the entire season a testament to this show's writing!
The only issue I have is that we should be able to see Mr. Milchick in at least one of her re-entry scenes - when he opens the door for her and holds it until she’s back inside. Otherwise, yeah, this was some brilliant writing and acting.
Made so much sense the second time my husband and I watched the show. I like thar you merged them but I love the art of the "thru the severed eyes". It's brilliant! Cant wait for season 2 finally
Did anyone notice that the direction of the door is incorrect at 0:09 ? It is a push/pull door, but she pushes it both ways even though that can only happen on exit.
This is where I knew Helly had to be an Eagan. Milchick telling her it was a "miracle", and it was "amazing" what she was doing. She couldn't be an ordinary employee.
@@dopy8418 It was very easy to know, actually. Just from her conversations with Milchick on the stairwell, he knew her, she obviously had a mission to be there. It would not be a "miracle" for an ordinary employee to work there. It was so easy to figure out. And, if you were to go back and check my comments about it on earlier episodes, you'd see that I had this theory long before the last episode.
@@8698gil Milchicks asks her if she knew about the breakfast and she answers ‘i heard’. There was no reeason at the start of the second episode only to ‘KNOW’ she was an Eagen. The miracle could have referred to anything at this point. I don’t believe you but hey that’s just my opinion.
@@dopy8418 So it is logical to you that Milchick would be there waiting and telling ANY employee that is was a miracle that they were working there? He said "We heard you were coming." "It's amazing what you are doing". Please don't tell me that is standard for all their employee It was only logical that she had to be someone important And who else but an Eagan would it be so miraculous and special for? I think there is every reason to believe that she was an Eagan right from the start of that episode. At least, it sure was obvious to me.
I think when she first looks through the little window Milchick is hiding. And on the subsequent walkthroughs he's probably just out of her line of sight.
I think that chip alters not only innie's memories but also perception. There is a video theory that for example numbers on their screena at work are not really numbers or that the goats aren't really goats
whats the significance of that door??? I mean is there some wireless signal inside the facility that activates the chip inside their heads to become innie form and when they cross the door(or come up via elevator) they loses that signal/range and chip activates their outie form.
You know begin to understand why they so desesperatedly saved her life when she tried to kill herself. And why the series never shows us the outys lives so we cannot suspect on helly.
1:40 I have never watched this, and recently this series came to my attention, this was the first video I watched of the entire series. I have a lot of reservations about current series because of the woke culture. I am a religious person and whenever I watch something I pay attention to several details, but in the past, in my time of ignorance about God and the Devil, I liked to play several adventure point and click games, and one of these games was Dark Seed 2, only in this small clip, the music caught my attention because it is agonizing and very ''overwhelming'' it gives a feeling of hopelessness, Jesus, that game left that same impression on me. Avoid it
