Oh wow, this is class. The Cars are truly awesome. Ric and Ben are indisputable gods, David is solid, Elliot is mind-blowing and more recognition for Greg please - he makes a mighty contribution . Crazy insanely great band.💥🌟💛
@@JoelP1961 Oh, it’s ok. I read so much about “women today” that’s very misogynistic & negative. You’re cool & thank you for your sweet reply. I love the Cars too, saw them in ‘79 @ Arrowhead Stadium, what a great band!
Yeah, it's a bitch getting old but looking on the bright side we lived through the best of times. We have seen great changes, not all of it for the better sadly. I'm 74 soon & I'm still rockin' on, I'll die listening to the Cars! 😊
Been a fan of the cars since the mid 80’s. Therefore I have discovered some of their stuff that came earlier than that time in the last several years like “ The Dangerous Type” and “ A Dream Away”. I love both of these songs. The rythym beats of this song are awesome. First the percussion , then the bass cutting in. A great start to a great song. I saw The Cars live in the same year as this concert. That makes those cute young blondes in the front row “twerking” to the beat in their mid 60’s by now. Yet here I am in the same age group listening to this music in 2024, and still loving it. That makes this group and their music timeless. It also assures that they will always be great. RIP to BEN ORR and RIC O’ CASEK. Also RIP to my good friend GINO who turned me on to THE CARS 40 some years ago. He lost his courageous battle with Parkinson’s in 2019. The world is less interesting without him in it now.
Love this live version.....I played it over and over and over again when I first heard it. Thanks for posting! Sad to say most of these "young people" (myself included) are old folks now....some have even passed away. Let's face it.....our youth is only "a dream away"....and simply just that. ;-(
Be sure to get a nice close up of the keyboard player when Easton is playing a blistering solo. Oh, and I know. When he's finished with it, then go in for the close cup on Easton!
I'm from Brazil and because of that I don't know the personalities of great American artists, but seeing from afar, it seems to me that Ric Ocasek was a very humble guy, a genius behind The Cars' compositions and best songs. In addition to obviously the instrumental quality of Elliot Easton, a great guitarist, and the late Benjamin Orr
On the shake it up album, this song, a dream away, was my favorite track, among many and to see it performed live is even more awesome after all these years
One of one of their greatest songs ever cool post thank you✅✅✅✅ but maybe change the name as some people may not find the video name is actually A dream away…..
That's because the cameraman was so captivated and enthralled by Benjanin's stage presence, aura, and charisma that he completely forgot about Elliot. 😆
As roupas que o BEN usava fazia Ele ser DIFERENCIADO dos demais do grupo. Sempre LINDO dos CABELOS ao seus SAPATOS. SABIA SER E TER BON GOSTO PARA ELE E PARA O PUBLICO. Eu olho tudo. Aprecio um homem BEM VESTIDO. As musicas sao maravilhosas cantadas pelo BEN AMADO. ❤❤😢😢 🌹 Rosa M.C.
