I always love the end of this song watching Elliot and Ben together...Ben's gorgeous smile could melt a heart of stone. Imagine seeing that smile every day? We'll never stop missing you Ben.
I've always loved The Cars but admit to not knowing how many songs Ben sang lead on. I also had no idea how incredibly sexy he was. Godspeed artist man.
Be sure to get a nice close up of the keyboard player when Easton is playing a blistering solo. Oh, and I know. When he's finished with it, then go in for the close cup on Easton!
Ben Orr and David Robinson were aways my favorites. Trust me I enjoyed the keyboard player Greg Hawkes (wish I was as talented as he still is) Just an all time fan of this band.
The youth of today shocks me, what they consider "good music". I'm 24 and growing up in middle school/high school I was all about 70's/80's new wave, classic pop rock, old school punk, garage rock...I had to hear all about how lame my music taste was while everyone was into dubstep and abrasive techno club music.
As roupas que o BEN usava fazia Ele ser DIFERENCIADO dos demais do grupo. Sempre LINDO dos CABELOS ao seus SAPATOS. SABIA SER E TER BON GOSTO PARA ELE E PARA O PUBLICO. Eu olho tudo. Aprecio um homem BEM VESTIDO. As musicas sao maravilhosas cantadas pelo BEN AMADO. ❤❤😢😢 🌹 Rosa M.C.
Loveeeeee loveeeee loveeeee!!!!!💞💞💞 It's an orangey sky always with so other guy it's just a broken lullaby Benjamin so Beautiful and hot hot hot !!!!🔥🔥🔥💕💕💕😇🚗🚗🚗🚗🚗 🎸🎶🎶🎶😘😘😘😍
That's because the cameraman was so captivated and enthralled by Benjanin's stage presence, aura, and charisma that he completely forgot about Elliot. 😆
Yeah that would have been great if Ric had been more amenable to more creative input from the others in songwriting; then Elliot and Ben would not have had to do their own solo album.
Brian, thank you SO much for sharing this! Is there any chance you have the other songs they performed for this show? I would love to see the rest, but ina.fr doesn't offer it in its entirety.
@mdwlcx i do, the cars werent some local high school band, they were very successful , they should be presented properly. the french have no idea how to video record a band.
I shit you not - when I was 15-16 I met a guy in a club one night that looked EXACTLY like Ben does here -like identical. Anyway -we flirted through the evening - drinking, smoking...the average stuff. And we ended up at a house party ....we slipped away to an empty bedroom, makeout time!!! And we were going at it (kissing ) and I took my hand to run through his hair -Ben’s hair- and 40 yrs layer this memory is so vivid and hilarious- but when I tried to run my fingers through his hair-they felt stuck. This dude had what seemed like an entire can of hairspray shellacking every strand. It was so stiff and hard ( his hair!!!!! People ) it just instantly was a buzzkill. So I look at gorgeous Ben with that same pouffy hairdo - and I wonder if it’s sprayed to death -it doesn’t move much. I’m gonna give him the benefit of doubt - Ben was perfect - so his halr was too. 💜💜💜😍
Allrite any1 that thinx the drummer isnt sloppy obviously doesnt play the drums.Listen at 0:50-1:00 and tell me if u think hes not a tight drummer.I would like to hear another drummers comment on this. And "mkp823ima lilbich" please stay out ov this

Although Ric wrote all The Cars' songs, lead vocals were given to Benjamin Orr on many songs from their entire catalog; Let's Go, Drive, Just What I Needed, Candy-O, Moving in Stereo, Cruiser, It's Not The Night, Double Trouble Coming Up You to name a few. When Ben took the lead vocal, Ric did not harmonize with or on top of Ben's vocals, there was no need to and you'll see as in this video that Ric just kicks back and focuses on his rhythm guitar parts while Ben sings. The harmonizing was done in the reverse when Ric was on lead vocal and Ben would often harmonize with him on some verses. There was some great harmonizing between Ric and Ben in Milkwood, and you can hear a great example of it on the Buddy Holly song they covered together "Everyday".
@JesusFreakJene Didn't say anything about France (nor did you in your original post). Talking "in general". Also, I didn't say the production was 'better" in '70's, but it wasn't that far removed from what is common today (better computer graphics, etc.), and certainly wasn't the rough quality of the '50's or early '60's.
@JesusFreakJene "Nothing was done professional back then". What are you talking about? This is a poorly done video, but TV and film in general were extremely "slick" and expertly done. You weren't there I take it?
Benjamin Orr sang lead on at least 50% of their songs and hits....it was a BIG lie to the fans....I believe Ric was and is an egomaniac and wanted all the fame. Did you know that he didn't share any of the writing credits of their songs with the other bandmates. Only 1 song "moving in stereo" he now shares credit cuz the keyboarist Greg Hawkes threatened to sue. They didn't give Greg credit until the album was re-released on CD. The guitarist Elliot Easton doesn't get ANY writing credits for all of his awesome riffs that WE ALL KNOW Ric didn't write :-(
