3 years ago, 1 oz was around $1800 at the time of this note it is $2662. I've just started 5 weeks ago. If 1 oz gold coins keep increasing in price the same way, the may limit their liquidity, but who knows right. I've decided to go with UK sovereigns are they are very popular over here and no tax at all ever. However, (pause for effect) I really really want some 1 oz coins. Grt vid I would just add stick with your budget and buy little and often. Buy what you can afford but keep buying. 1 sov. Over here is less than £500. If you bought just 1 every other month you could have 6 in a year. Worth around 3000 and rising. Sub
Gold and silver are worthless. I tried to buy a head of lettuce from multiple vegetable markets for various amounts of gold or silver. NOBODY would accept it. Worthless. Spend money elsewhere. Not financial advice.
Sorry for commenting twice but There's coins and there's rounds, but what if a round has a mint mark? Why would it get mint marked if its just a round. I bought a sunshine silver buffalo round with a mint mark SI, I'm trying to understand what I'm staking.
My first purchase was a 2 gram Argor-Heraeus Kinebarbar and a 1 gram Scottsdale Mint Gold Prepper Bars in Certi-Lock and a 1 oz silver bar. I hope I did right. But what I have learned the less I buy the bigger the over cost. I am learning
Campbell you are missing the point of the Goldback in its entirety, your arguement that "your purchase price may be different" doesnt differ at all from what happens when you go from one national currency to another. Your "make believe land" exists today, and to answer your question of what can't a silver coin do? It can't be verified to near the ease or specificity of a Goldback. This is where this aurum note is paving the way for Silverbacks, because they are counting on the value of 1 GB gaining consiberable value give its limited supply. Then offering Silverbacks/or other negotiable instruments as alternatives to smaller purchases. Your arguements are valid to the sensitivity of the note, however exchanging is a real thing and will be honored, because they are so easy to verify. So yes silver coins are great, but super easy to replicate and conterfeit as well. So saying things like the "true money side" doesnt make sense and is just being dissmissive of the true value of these notes. Also, these are backed by the American Gold Eagle (the actual recognized currency of the United States) not by the Federal Reserve (which asks for gold as one form payment for bonds by the way). Anyone can make silver in their back yard, you cannot make a Goldback however, hence the premium (which is also impacted by the total investment into the limited run of notes).
goldbacks have a little more gold than what it says, mike adams natural news melted it down and proved the gold. Ive seen other parties melt the goldback down and verify it.
For bicycle security, the experts always suggest a lock that cost as much as 10% of the value of the bicycle. I wonder if this formula could be applied to precious metals. Obviously I don't want a 3K safe to secure 1K in metals
Late to the party, but the Air-Tite H32 seems to fit the 1oz Britannia's diameter perfectly, but the thickness of the coin is 1.8mm (noticeably less than the $50 Eagle this was made for)... the Air-Tite description says this will cause rattling. Does anyone know how bad?
Very Happy with Apmex for years. Pre 1933 G coins and cool unique products for Gkids. Also shipping is FAST. I don't like when I have to sign and then I am not home and I have to go to the PO to get my coins! I just ordered from SD Bullion and got a piece of silver at spot for new customers. Nice piece. I have not tried JM Bullion or even heard of Monumental Metal. Will check them out. TY
Coins are like stamps, there are British then everything else (ie foreign). It is silly to describe Britannia's as "foreign" especially by a foreigner!!!

I saw people melting goldback online are extracted to gold yes it's a process. Nowadays China's pushing fake gold coins and silver. Goldback to have security when they print it and I really don't want to have to keep on buying all these kits on testing gold or silver.Yes I'm paying higher premiums but at least I know I'm getting the real deal instead of some RGF. I don't see the point in melting it if it's already in a currency form
Safes in a house are dumb. Especially if people know you have a safe. "open the safe or die". 3 feet of PVC . Shrink wrap bullion. Cap both ends of PVC with PVC caps. 100% waterproof.

Nice content but for me, the background music is very distracting making hearing and comprehension more difficult. If you keep it, lower the volume please. Pre-1933 St. Gaudens is my favorite gold to collect.
I have a 1 oz American Platinum Eagle and I love it. I got it as an alternative to gold. I really like the unique properties; high meting point, corrosion resistance, density, hardness, finish, and rarity. I got it mainly as a collector piece but it being a PM is a bonus. I also like that it is a $100 denomination, kind of unusual.
