Collectively, I have a lifetime of mistakes to build upon, so join in as I demonstrate the wrong way to do almost everything. My techniques are wrong, using my terminology will get you laughed at, and I have less of a budget than your neighbors lemonade stand. But I'll build some cool stuff, like Noone else does. Jade definitely needs a couple pair of proper sized lamb/kid gloves, those gloves are a major handicap. Most people can't / hate using gloves at all with detail work. It's a big deal with detail work. That is certainly, learning the hard way. It also looks like she might be a lefty, forcing herself to work righty.
I'll admit I am getting anxious to see some more work on the cars but it seems that everything you throw at us in these videos manages to capture my interest. I loved this one and I'm sure the memories made will last forever. I bet those classes will be a big hit with everyone involved as well. I'm glad you are getting back into the swing of things and thank you for continuing to share these videos with us.
I swear the car will be front and center right away. I'm probably more anxious than anyone right now. But I'll be filming some stuff on it quite a bit in upcoming weeks 😎
🤣🤣🤣🤣 As much as I'm laughing. I have to tell you, it's truly a struggle. The "large" one size fits all, do not fit. I have a XXL to XXXL hand. I can sometimes wear a large, or XL but it's never right. And this video the emphasize was heavily on safety and responsibility, which even she said......are you serious....I didn't even do this when I was 4 . Proper gloves specifically for her are on my list. As soon as I can, hopefully shortly after the classes we are jointly teaching
If I ever had a true mini myself, it is her. Much to the disappointment of several people, other than a chromosome, she is absolutely a much younger version of me, and I have never had such amazing h chemistry working with someone. She is probably more excited than even me to teach, which is saying a lot. I wish I could film it, but I can guarantee, it will not be a single performance. We'll be back for an encore 😎
I'm glad you put a video of making these. I've been thinking of making different yard art and art type things out of metal. I made a rod bender for smaller diameter rebar and rod iron to build yard art bugs. I'm looking for some free scrap metal to build a planishing hammer to further along my "teaching myself" how to fabricate and work with metal. I look forward to your videos. Also its good seeing you work with your daughter. Maybe someday my kids would want to create things out of metal or work on cars. They couldn't care less right now as they are still young lol.
They come around. Then go. Then come around again. All my kids have been both excited to build stuff, and annoyed I want to. Sure am having a blast right now though.
At almost 17, I'd like to believe that it's more than just obedience or even respect, it's also the realization that I truly do know what im doing. My ego is flying high though because I also know she kjo2s what she's doing, and she makes me look like a much better teacher than I am 🤣
I think Gene Winfield calls them pipe anvils. I built one a few years ago using black pipes and a piece of a frame from a treadmill. I did make the mistake of not taking it down to clean metal. I can always cut it apart and redo it as I have washers used to make the gaps. The way you did it looks cooler.
Someone else pointed that out yesterday and it unlocked memories I didn't realize I had. There was no way it was an original idea, I just couldn't place where it had come from
Nice job Ryan ,when I used to restore Morris Minors as a job we only had hard disk grinders to grind the welds and thin flexi disks to Finnish and the workshop manager would always listen out for us grinding to hard he said it softened the metal either side of the weld ,we are now spoilt with flap disks and Rolox they’re brilliant
I remember grinding welds with a hard stone before I even knew flappers existed. Knock them down and finish with a file, and a sanding block. I don't miss those days at all
I'm always interested to hear. I think I share because a lot of people believe in the portrayed perfection we want everyone to see. There's a feeling of hope knowing you aren't alone.
@@kingofbootyfab I've been holding off on making car videos due to having CHRONIC, neck, whole back pain and drop foot in one foot and nerve damage in the other foot and I still try to enjoy building cars. I was a welder by trade and still try to do it. The government won't help me with anything but I've learned, NEVER GIVE UP to the thoughts in ur head or the LIMITS of ur BODY. U can build but it takes longer and u have to figure out how to do builds while changing ur routine to sometimes that makes it easier on ur body but takes longer... Don't give up and get back to the RAT BUILD. I subbed to watch it happen and to watch the process and learn along the way... Don't give up or get down on urself. Take a second and get back to it...
@@kingofbootyfab I love it screw ups and redos as it shows ur real and not TV/PERFECT.... We don't bash/laugh at ur pace or screw ups, it's part of the reason we watch... Ur a underdog and we want to see u make it and u have 3k of us rooting for you and to also see memories made with you and ur family even if it's goofing off... Bring back what we love brother... I wish I had ur ability but I figured out different ways to get the same results.. God bless and remember bless others 👍💪👊🙏
It was a hard lesson to learn I can't work how I used to. I'm actually down at my good friends shop working on some things because I had to come out for physio, but I don't pick things up off the ground, I work at waist height, and I avoid heavy lifting. I finally got some medical answers and they've cleared me to work within the limits of my body, so if after 15 minutes I've got nerve pain I stop and reset and come back to it. Hoping I have a pretty good handle on it now, and my recovery, so that I can continue. Talking to guys like you has been a serious help, knowing that I'm not the only one struggling with it, and the support I get on here is surreal. Thank you 🍻
@@kingofbootyfab man u got it and I'm probably 8-10 years younger than you but back problems suck and you gotta do it and change ur process. I believe u can do it. Literally my whole body is in bad shape and I'm seeing specialist all the time. It sucks but I have one good arm left but I deal with the pain and then get stuck in bed for 2-3 days due to the pain. Ur not alone. Others have the same problem maybe not as bad but they hide it and take a week just to make one video.. u got this brother
I'm not sure there's anything we can do, that Gene or one of the other legends hasn't done already. Looking at Google images, that's probably the exact seed that was planted many years ago when I made the first one.
I'm by no means the first person to do it, hopefully it didn't come across as an original idea. I probably saw it somewhere a lifetime ago and just kind of weld a new one up when it's needed
