Hi there, I'm so glad you're here! I'm Jacki and these are my days. From motherhood to nature to homeschooling - these are some of the most intentional and favorite things of mine these days. Here you can find tips on a few things, thoughts about other things, questions always and maybe some reviews too. Thank you for stopping by!
From the research I’ve done, TGATB has really stood out to me. I did the placement tests for my 5yo and he placed 1st grade math & Kinder Language Arts. I love the free curriculum & I love the interactive aspect with the songs and videos. The app is awesome and has SO much on there! This just confirmed my decision! Thank you so much.
Hi there!! I'm late to the party, but really enjoyed this video and appreciate your making it. I'm considering BF History for the next school year, and I'm curious to see how you ended up liking it. Do you feel that it is truly Charlotte Mason? Are all the books living? Thanks so much!
Hi! Yes, all the books are living books. I think with the notebooking/perhaps some copy work from the book and adding in narration for your children to do after the readings make it very much a CM approach! I still read many of those books today even though our family has switched to Classical Conversations as our spine. BFB is a fantastic resource!
I have 2 older children that I homeschooled who were 5 years apart. Now i have 3 younger children close together, and I'm re-thinking my curriculum ideas. I liked mfw for kindergarten and 2nd grade this year bc I have combined a lot of the history, science, and Bible between the 2 grades. But after christmas I added extra handwriting, reading, and singapore math to my k5 kiddo. If you had to do it over, would you start 1st grade in tgatb instead of mfw? Would a 1st grader who did mfw in k5 be prepared enough for tgatb?
Hi! Thanks for the video! I know this was a couple of years ago, but do you think the amount of reading was too much or the right amount? Im looking into BFB next year for my daughter who will be in first grade. It looks amazing, but there's also a lot of books and I want to make sure we have time without "rushing" through them too much.
I’m glad I saw your video. I’ve been eyeing this bag for about two years LOL. I think I’m going to purchase. It’s more for work/travel. Is it easy to open to get something from inside the bag while you have one strap on? Forgot to add the following: is the leather heavy? Why I ask because I had purchased a leather backpack from another brand and it was extremely heavy and it was empty.
I just delivered my 4th yesterday and she was posterior when she came out. I literally was teary eyed through this video feeling everything you’re talking about here. Wanting to be so done. I’m so sorry you had such a hard labor with sweet Zion. Mine was so hard for me too and I was getting so angry also. Thank you for sharing this. I was just looking to see any other mamas birth stories encouragement after since it’s SO HARD to deliver a posterior baby naturally. Literally everything you said was how I was thinking. I also had prodromal labor for about a week and it was confusing and discouraging. From my 3rd birth being so fast, to remembering what not to do but doing it anyway because it’s so hard in the moment. Appreciate this video so much even 2 years later. 🤍
How did you feel about the book Child's first book of American History? I saw some reviews that saw it as a little dated and problematic in the vocabulary and the way they presented some native americans/ American Indians. Did you use it? skip it? find something else? Thank you so much for these reviews
I wonder I’d something happed to her- she hasn’t made a video for months, again. No explanation, and she hasn’t been on Instagram, either. It just seems weird that she would suddenly disappear without any consideration for her subscribers, no explanation. 😢
I just found your channel! New subscriber! Love this! I have a few carts in our home. So many fun supplies. We love twistable crayons and pop it’s over here in our homeschool. I have a homeschool/lifestyle channel too. 😊
Love your homeschooling videos! Also love your whole vibe! If you ever wanted to do a home decor tour, hair tutorial, or anything like that, that would be cool too!
Just found your channel and love it! Also, totally unrelated to your content, but can I just say that I love your earrings that you wear in each episode? :)
Those topics were included but Because of the books that were mixed in, the topics never felt too heavy in my opinion, although that may differ from family to family! The books were all really age appropriate I felt like and addressed heavy topics in a thoughtful and not overwhelming way. You should be able to look up the list of books on the BFB website and then maybe find some read alouds on RU-vid to preview them first before you purchase the whole set! I know your comment was from a couple of months ago but I hope my answer is relevant and I hope you have found a history you love for your homeschool!
Thanks for sharing. We were a CC family at one point. We walked away with many valuable lessons and friendships. We still utilize some aspects of it now in our homeschool day.
Hi Whitney!! That’s amazing I’m so excited for you! I hope you love homeschooling! ☺️ and yes I feel like I have found some really great resources lately and wanted To share! 🧡
We are currently in the process of switching from MFW Kindergarten, and starting 1st grade with TGATB! Thank you so much for this video, it is super helpful. I did have one question... for 1st grade I still really like the MFW approach for bible history! I am on the fence of using MFW for social studies and science, and supplementing the math/language arts with TGATB! What are your thoughts on this?
Just came by across your channel as I’m considering beautiful feet books for next year ☺️ Definitely subscribing! I have 3 boys as well, 7, 3, and 1.5 and your video definitely looks a lot like our homeschool experience! ❤️
Hi Jess! Thank you for watching! I hope beautiful feet books is a great addition to your homeschool if you choose to use it! Boys are so fun! Thanks for watching 🧡
Great video! This curriculum looks wonderful. Would you recommend doing Around the World or Early American History first? Wasn’t sure if one might be better for pre-k/K age. Thank you!
Hi there! I really love your content! It’s super helpful and relatable! Could you possibly do a video that’s all about your kindergarten curriculum choices for all subjects!? :)
Hi there! Thanks for being here! I did a video on our kinder choices last year, here it is! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bXv-AWfZAME.html
