This sounds exactly like my second child's birth. I didn't call in time, because I was in denial, and the midwife arrived as the baby was arriving. It happened so quickly! I am so incredibly thankful for our midwife and all she has done for our family. Birth is incredible. ❤
Oh wow! That’s crazy that happened, that denial thing is strong! Yes midwives are fantastic, so glad you’ve found an amazing one! Yes it is incredible!
Home births are so amazing! ❤ My husband thought I was crazy when I told him I wanted to have our last baby at home. Now he wishes we would have had them all at home because, the experience was so amazing!
Haha! My husband was the exact same 😂 he warmed up to the idea eventually though! That’s so cool he wished now you had them all at home! I’m so glad you had an amazing experience 💚 thank you for watching Kerri!
Thanks for watching girl! It’s my 3rd baby’s birth story! He’s almost 3! But I wanted to share it and reminisce as I head into another birth with my 4th baby in about 9 weeks! Crazy this pregnancy has flown by!
Oh, babies, you never quite know what their story will be. Each one is so different! It's funny that you just kept feeling like it was going to be forever. My first labor was 5 hours total, from first contraction to baby. My second was more like 18 hours. I'm glad you had a good experience with homebirth!
That is amazing your first birth was 5 hours! My second was also longer than my first 😫 yes I love how each birth is so different and each baby/person is so unique! God is so cool how he designed birth and humans!
Oh Jacki! I love birth stories! I had a similar experience where I progressed really fast! The nurse checked me and I was an 8 and she called out for the Doctor bc I was close and in literally the next minute (60 seconds!!) I was fully dilated and pushing and baby was out in 3 pushes. I kept telling myself the same thing during labor that it was going to take soooo long as it was my first baby and that was just not the case! I labored for about 5 hours total, the entire thing was just crazy and amazing!
Birth is the best! I had a textbook 12 hour first birth. 2nd birth was 1 hour and 56 minutes with zero transition time! 3rd birth was about 3 hours with FER at the end and it felt so good. Maybe I'm nuts, but for my next I'd like to at least be in labor for 6 hours so I have a bit more time to experience labor and process all the emotions!
I'd love to hear of other mothers like me. I am currently pregnant w 5th baby. 1st stillborn so I was induced. 2nd, they scared me into an induction. 3rd my water broke on its own and they told me to go straight to hospital bc of something or other and he was born wo pain meds and fast. So 4th baby I chose birth center delivery. I only went to birth center that evening bc he hadn't moved all day and I was worried we he had met his sister in heaven. Only to find out he was very much alive and that I had just driven me n his 2 older brothers 20 min to center at almost 8cm dilated. I felt NO contractions to 6pm (an hour after I arrived at birth center and 54 min b4 3rd son joined us! I have a feeling this daughter will be a home birth or roadside birth without planning it, bc I recovered so much better without inductions or pain medication...
Wow! Thank you for sharing! I am so sorry about your first pregnancy and baby, how hard! What a great 4th birth after your first births. You are one amazing mom! I hope you have an even better 5th birth this time! 🙂
I love homebirth stories! I had 6 hospital births and our 7th I talked my husband into homebirth. Baby girl was born 40 minutes from the time I woke up and hubby delivered her 25 minutes after walking in the door from work (he’s a firefighter). We are expecting our 8th and last baby in the next few weeks with a midwife we hired who lives 40 minutes away so who knows if she’ll make it lol
