I would be very interested to hear if Doctor Gersh has ever done any serious studies about the negative effects of a plant based diet on hormone production. Dr. Kiltz, for example, has helped hundreds if not thousands of women who were struggling with infertility by suggesting that they convert from a vegetarian or vegan diet to a keto or carnivore diet. I am not a scientist but it appears that fat and cholesterol are critical for optimal hormone production.

wow, well hopefully by the time my daughters are perimenopause this whole thing gets sorted out. I am educating them on it now too. I am 55 and on HRT. My mom was taken off of it back in the early 2000's because of that horrid WHI study. I did not know anything about it then and was only in my mid late 20s and of course no RU-vid then or internet. So it is sad now when I think back about it. She died from dementia at only 77. Who knows if hormones would had prevented it, we will never know.

I thought it was the opposite. When I started my period I would have diarrhea.. I always felt better after my period and then swelled up after ovulation up until my period. Also, when I was pregnant I thought we double our blood volume.

I have an np who started me off when I was 47 years old on 8 mg. Estradiol and 300 mg progesterone compounded with testosterone and DHEA.. We ignored the women's heart initiative because their studied prempro and Premarin. I had lost son in a car accident and I felt 35.. When I actually went into menopause it was no big deal. I do remember thinking that I felt like a flower wilting. I only had a couple of bad hot flashes and they were breaking out in a sweat and feeling nauseous. But as I've aged she lowered my estradiol slowly. Progesterone was Lowered to 100 mg and she cut me estradiol lowered estradiol to 2 mg. As soon as she gave me estradiol of 2mg. My hair immediately turned into straw and I've battled with thyroid issues since then. So maybe hair was falling out and she up progesterone so back to 200mg. This was@ 60 you old that she lowered my normal estradiol of 2mg. Now I’m taking the same but I had her to separate the estradiol in pill prescription. I don't do cycling but honestly the 200 mg makes me depressed.. But helps me sleep. How do you know the correct balance? I'm 68 years old and it’s physically taxing with adrenals ... There is only 2 times I've looked pregnant and now is the time. My adrenals are stressed now.

It was pretty expensive for 3 months supply but my doc has said he would prescribe me if he can see the letter from newson clinic. Im so lucky. Also going to see what my testosterone levels are. I am genuinely and still at a loss as to why certain MDs endocrinologists have any antipathy towards the test . It’s our go to as it has so many markers and is so accurate. Granted it’s not perfect and I am yet to find a test that is. I would love to hear “why” the resistance to it ? Love to have an open zero agenda discussion with someone who can articulate this . Zero agenda other than learning that is . Humbly said

Here in Europe, basically only progestins are prescribed with estradiol, not the micronised progesterone. Wonder why this is… in this case, is it still true that some hormone is better than no hormone? I am just about to start HRT, just turned 50, and really having a hard time finding a doctoe that is willing to talk or prescribe progesterone. I am offered medroxyprogesterone acetate, or oral combination pill, or an IUD with esteadiol gel. Not sure which one is best. As of symptoms, my periods are lighter, have been late with 3 in the last 8 months, bad sleep and mood, no sex drive. No hot flashes though

I was really pro-thermography although I never had it I had had 2 previous mammograms but thought when I reached 50 I would get thermograms with the best dr over in NJ who only does that. I had yet to schedule when I went to a lymph massage therapist who told me she had had 2 thermographs within 6 mos due to her concerns and they showed nothing of concern she finally went to a n MD and said please give me a mammogram and they found 3b stage cancer. I will never trust them, but I also think we need to not get mammograms every year. It’s just too much radiation and most MRIs are what find breast cancer especially in dense breasts and even suspicious looking lumps in mammograms are eventually denied a followup MRI when requested by drs. The ins companies have everything to do with it.

An interesting conversation! I have been through the wringer the past 5 years with seeing all kinds of different doctors including gynecologists, and also naturopathic doctors. No one seems to be taking my suffering seriously! They just want to rush through the appointment as fast as possible, and aren't interested in getting to the bottom of my health problems. I am coming to learn, by doing my own research, that my problems are due to menopause! I have so many symptoms, including pain, that affect me on a daily basis, and I'm coming to the end of my rope. I feel like I can't deal with how terrible I feel every day anymore! I tried to get the e-book mentioned, but when I went to that page on her website, the link doesn't work. So I was not able to download the book. Disappointing!
