I see it only uses 250mls liquid, most fish pie recipes use 500/600mls. Will there be enough sauce?

Beautiful dish. But it's bangers and mash, not bangers and pomme puree. I'm no chef but what does milk do other than turn it sloppy and gloopy. Some butter, white pepper and salt. Big dollop on the plate, stands the gravy up. Quality.

It's a streamed pudding,,, try it with chicken, bacon and leek, or steak and kidney with Guinness to enhance the flavour, delicious

try it with guiness or any brown/dark beer, that’s how we do it in belgium, just keep adding water during the cooking as the alcohol evaporates

Is the oven too hot? Use regular double cream.

When i was growing up my mother would often make an onion sauce (bechamel with softened onions) to go with our sausage and mash and it works really well!

Pasties have been a favorite in my family for generations. My mom started putting them in pie shells because it cut the work down. If you’re strapped for time you can put them in frozen pie shells, just put the filling in and put second pie shell on top and crimp edges

Boiling maybe quicker to the honest with you… It does increase the water content which may take a little of the flavour away. See how you get on 😊
