Very useful video. Ive ordered a resonated miltek for my TTRS, i paid a lot of money to hear that lovely 5 pot symphony orchestra, in addition installing a 10k sound system.
This was my first car same engine. Had a lot of fun with it it's easy to make it slide a lil bit. Did 1000kms trips with 4 people in it. What I don't like is the steering very light no feedback at all.
sorry you sold your R32 but understand the draw backs maintenance wise. My 2004 R32 had over 25k spent on it prior to buying including timing chain new clutch etc and also included upgrades new alloys, tyres, coil overs and he also threw in spare rotors and pads. the only money i have spent on it is getting the rear adjustable camber arms certified so i guess is how well the previous owner has maintained it. I watched your Scorpion non resonated video and have the same on my car and yes you do get the drone but it doesnt bother me and yes does suck up the gas but i love it
If they are serviced properly & you are prepared to do some jobs yourself then they are affordable. They drink more than a thirsty Irishman as far as fuel goes & for me the biggest fault with the R32 is that the 6th Gear (Manual or DSG) should be taller for economy on the highway or they should have had 7 gears. I have a 06 Manual with sunroof, Recaro's & 90Kms on the clock. It costs a bit more than something dull but Im happy to pay for it as it still makes me smile everytime I drive it. I definitely am holding onto mine.
Cool video, ik heb zelf de non res besteld voor m’n 3.2 TT, ben gewend aan mr2 met 3” uitlaat. Heb je ook de headers vervangen? Want dat ga ik ook doen
In the 5 speed it's best to stretch the 4th gear as much as possible. You can top 4th at 202KM/h. In 5th, you're pretty much lugging the engine due to shitty gear ratios, therefore overheating, which is what happened here.
Still remains one of the most iconic and best volkswagen cars ever. But honestly, if you know a few people and read in about maintaining the car, then you perhaps wouldn't need to sell it. The brakes.. you can buy better brakes, (upgrade) for a few hundred euros. Chain revision is costly, but it is always costly to revise them. Then again the skoda vrs is also good value for money. Faster, better mileage, more options and space.
these can be rather quick, perhaps your tester is not tuned well, perhaps you should try a 2007/2008 model with 306 hp and more torque. also, just an aside, it is not usually good for your gearbox to rest your hand on the shift. cheers
Thanks for sticking around :) At the minute I don't think i'll come back to my old channel, for multiple reasons. I might make another announcement in the future though, so stay tuned.
You've sold yours and I'm keeping mine and buying another haha The best car ever made ticks every box Forget mpg Forget car tax Forget current speed comparison These R32s are the unicorns of the car world and every single person will look back in the future at my 2 cars I've kept and think wow we just didn't realise how good !
If you’re keeping the exhaust are you going to order a resonator to drop in to hopefully save some money opposed to just buying another exhaust? Unless you can return that one.
I've owned mine for 6 years and spent quite a lot to make it as near perfect as I can. Once everything is fixed up it is reliable, enjoyable to drive and not so expensive to maintain. Still I think older sporty cars like the R32 are best as a second or third car but not as an only car. Good luck with your next car.
Just bought a full scorpion exhaust turbo back with high flow cat for my polo gti cup went resonated for the reasons you listed also about non res. Obviously wouldn’t be as loud as a r32 but still
