So I can't install the electrical anode rode .?

Good video. Sure seems a poor design to have an anode rod which requires plumbing disassembly. My existing water heater has dedicated threaded outlets for anodes. No removal of pipes required. Much easier.

Hey this is awesome! One question, aren't pumps like that not sanitary? Would it introduce bacteria into your hot water line? Thank you

Great video! Be aware that at first he erroneously puts the blue hose on the red valve and the red hose on the blue valve. He corrects this mistake later without commenting on it.

Quick question, what sump pump do you recommend using? I used one that stopped working after being in the vinegar for 20 minutes and it now smells like oil is leaking from the sump pump itself.

4:29 my isolation valves look a bit different and can’t be turned. Wish I could add a pic here for a visual. Can I just use the shut off on the line instead of the isolation valves?

I inspected the anode rod of B-W today. The heater was installed 28 months ago. I am using water softener in my house. To my surprise, the rod looks intact except the top 6 inches which shows heavy corrosion. I mean this is very natural as the water at the top is the hottest and hence the corrosion. My question is should I replace the rod now or wait to see in another 28 months? Btw I would switch to other brands on my next heater replacement. This B-W design is NOT user friendly at all. Thank for the video

Can you run the water heater without the fan blowing cold air out in the winter? I can't find it anywhere in the manual and it makes the garage freezing in the winter.

Thank you for the video. I have a quick question: When I began the descaling process, I noticed that the water level kept rising gradually. Although I used only 2 gallons of vinegar, my 5-gallon container filled up in about 20 minutes, and I had to empty an extra gallon every 5 minutes. Could you please advise on what I might be doing wrong? Should I also turn off the red/hot recycling valve? Before starting the descaling, I ensured that there was no water remaining in both the hot and cold pipes.

I have two hot and cold inlets and outlets - a domestic line and a heating water line. Which do I attach the circulation hoses to for descaling? Do i need to shut off all the lines?

What should be done if the white vinegar keeps coming out rusty, the vinegar should be changed to clean vinegar or not.

Question.. does this brand of water heater have some kind of drain? I have a dehumidifier and I'd like to have it run constantly but I don't have a drain and the water reservoir fills fast. I'd like to drain it directly. So yeah, if there a drain with this unit?

So, second time doing this and still come back to this video! However, I seem to have an issue with the system not draining when I open the service valves. Only a little bit of water comes out even after waiting 15 to 20 mins. as well as moving the hoses around. I undo the black screen filter, and water comes gushing out. I undo the dirt trap, and a bit more water comes out though not as much. Is there something I'm missing, or is the unit not mounted correctly? The flush is still successful as far as I'm concerned. Just would rather not have water go everywhere undoing that screen.

Thank you so much for this thorough detail. Cleaning all the traps and filters were super important and not many other videos explain that part - those filters were nasty in just one year! There is no way I would’ve been able to do this without this video. Thank you so much 🙏🏼

I see that he says the piping must be of equal distance to each heater, one thing that is not taken into account is that on the heater on the left there are two extra elbows going into the tank. An elbow has a friction loss or is equivalent of a certain length of pipe. Example: if a 3/4 elbow where equivalent to 6 in of pipe, tank on the left has an extra one foot of piping. That's a guesstimate I don't know the exact engineering specs but it gives you an idea. So if you do the math the tank on the left has a longer piping distance.

I know the vinegar is cheap but can it be recovered and reused? Also a tip to the home owner: After flushing with vinegar run fresh clean water through the pump and rinse your hose connections. Vinegar is an acid and will corrode the hose fitting and pump internals. This is cheap insurance to keep a homeowner flush kit operating w/o issues for several years. One other thing, make sure the hot return hose is flowing vinegar when you turn the pump on. If it’s not, gently tilt the pump while still fully submerged in the bucket to prime it. Once you do that you should see air start to purge out of the hot return hose then flowing vinegar. Hope this helps.
