How to perform annual maintenance on a Bradford White electric water heater. If you'd like to read about this process, check out our blog post on the topic here: www.waterheatersnow.com/blog/...
You are a great presenter. I already knew you had a video on replacing the anode rod, but a link to the other video in each comment section would make sure viewers could easily find the other video. I needed to hunt a bit :-)
One of the best how to videos I have watched... No useless time wasting information or chatter - just the step by step. Answered every question I had even though I had already done mine... Next time I will do the 3 second water on/8 second water off flush since I did not know that was a thing... I would like to know how to clean my heating elements though...
I completely agree!!! I never knew this flushing was a thing! Last year my water softener head failed and needed to be replaced, which it has been for about 10 months now. I could not figure out why I was getting some darker water with my hot water, when the water softener system is functioning properly. Then i remembered ahh, need to drain it within the next week. Love this video!
Some states require 90 gallon water heaters on home with large tubs - But some houses did not come with outdoor basement access that limits a large HWH so the builder installed 2 50 gallon WN.
What! How'd you just pull that thermostat cover off like that?? Took me like half hour to wrangle that thing off and broke thermostat cover off doing it. I'm watching that part a few more times lol
Great presentation, finally understand the process now. I have a 47 gal Lowboy in my crawlspace, my first Bradford White (same model) lasted 14 years. How often can you expect to replace the anode rod. I know it’s a sacrificial part and will need replacing every once in a while. My current water heater is less than a year old. Thanks. 👍👍
Hi. Thanks for video. Quick question. My Bradford White water heater's pilot stays on on but the burners do not go on to heat the tank (even when I turn the knob to highest heat). Any idea what could be the problem?
So, my Bradford White 50 gal gas water heater was installed in January, but the water here is very "hard" due to high mineral content. So, it's been about 6 months. Should I go ahead with drain and flush? And what about the anode?
What if the electric water heater makes a small water boiling sound. Mine started doing that. It’s also hot too. Its where the top cover is where you unscrew and open up the insulation and see the reset button and the thermostat. The bottom one seems fine though. Had to turn off the water heater for the night and wonder if its something small that i can take care of like in this video or call service tech.
How do I know if my BW has the jet technology? I have a RE350T6. The manual just says to "Monthly, drain off a gallon of water from the water heater to remove silt and sediment."
I've tried like hell to pull that panel up to where it removes from the water heater, and it just will not come off. I'm so confused by all these videos where it just lifts out with ease.
@@chevtruckc-1058 - I've already cut my hands and my husband tried as well. We're just going to hire a handy man to do that and route some wires in the house. We've both tried. We're done at this point.
My Bradford White electric heater is 7 years old and I never maintained it. I just noticed the water in my tub upstairs is not as hot as it used to be. Water in my kitchen sink is very hot. Do you think that means I need a new water heater?
My Bradford White requires the drain valve to be completely turned counter clockwise to complete open the valve. Just turning like a T doesn't open it completely.
my a o smith electric water heater is leaking lightly from the bottom panel. It's only 2 years old. What could cause moisture in this lower panel? Anyone have an idea?
Mine is less than 2 years old and it’s been making a squeaking (sounds like it’s full of mice) sound for the past couple of months a few times per day. Any idea what could be causing this? Thanks!
Flushing an electric tank doesn't do a whole lot. They do not heat from the bottom. You're better off replacing the elements. If you're in the area with hard water and no water softener. They should probably be replaced every 4 to 5 years. It will keep the water heater more efficient and heating quicker.
