From experience most men squatting sensible loads get about 25kg/55lbs from IPF legal wraps. That'll go up as you get to the elite weights and in feds which allow longer wraps and no walk out for the squat.
I have been going really heavy on squats every week for so long now. Not one rep maxes, but still really heavy. They are going insanely heavy, but they still make me kind of afraid of getting hurt. I squat alone, so I just can't imagine what would happen if my leg blew out like one of these guys. It went on the guys neck forward. I mean someone can potentially die if things go completely wrong. I sometimes lift at my brothers house since he has a full gym. Not even a person in there other than me.
I never understood why machines aren't used for spotting... Chains, lever arms... Something. Lifters can be paralyzed because spotters weren't up to the job... 😳😳
Stupid rack.. Already without safety bar in IPF.. Stupid risk for stupid federation. These rack are so dangerous and is simple to fix with safety bar and other rack.
I had the nightmare of spotting Ray Williams at a contest. We had 5 spotters, I think he hit 931. We were cheering louder than the crowd because no one was confident about catching that. He made sure to come up and express his appreciation to all the spotters and judges during the meet. He's a real class act and I've made sure to thank the spotters and judges during my contests ever since because it felt real good to get that appreciation after a long day spotting and loading.
I still can’t believe how primitive this setup is. A basic fucking stand that shakes, no safeties to drop the weight on. You’d think just one of these disasters would be enough for them to swallow their pride and figure it out, but no.
Safeties dont work in comp because it doesnt allow a clear view for the side judges. If you want safeties then you better be fine with spotty judging and unearned white lights on squats
His squat overall is hella unique. The way he breaks his hips and his power coming out of the whole. It's like he developed an entirely new squat style
Because this " supportive" gear Jetsons you with a weight you can't actually lift and you're left trying to lockout this weight you can barely even support. Its all gear and juice. And yes, I competed in the sport for 10+ years before I'm accused of being an armchair quarterback.
@@crazyjackal55 it's funny you say weight you can't actually lift as if Ray didn't end up lifting even more weight in competition than in this video, but good try at invalidating his lifts
The spotters are supposted to assist you not lift the whole thing of the ground if youre are attempting a squat with such ammount of weight that you have no control over it its your fault.
Kelly Brantons failed squat seems so overly dramatic tbh, don't know why he would put up such an act, people that has actually missed a squat knows that this one looks very odd
