I drive this truck and it has been the worst experience of my life, nothing but problems, electrical is the most common, only 600 k kilometers, I hate this brand.
rusty cracker likes trump 😂 but only after him and his immigrant across the atlantic ruin trucking by taking cheap cheap freight ! can you imagine if they made trucking just like important jobs a qualification to be a US citizen only . the truck business would be amazing again just like our ancestors had it in the 1960s
Yeah, I regrettably gave up on the YT thing though. Just didn’t have enough time or truthfully any desire. Lot of life changes, no longer have the 5700 (lease return), changed companies because of various reasons, then went back to Hutchinson.
I have a 2022 Western Star 5700XE also, Day before yesterday the blower motor, just stopped blowing, 77000 miles, now I am in Salt Lake, got wait to get home so if they take some time to fix I will be home instead of in a hotel and rental car being out of pocket.
most componeys go threw the truck when its new to catch any loose parts and what not check the ecu turn it up they are so doged down when you first get them how do i know all this i used to work for peterbult in the 90s before i became o/o
All the silver haired million + milers at my company HATE manuals. After driving manuals longer than I've been living, driving an auto is luxury to them.
I like the old school simplicity. I don’t have any unnecessary digital clusters with pretty colors showing me tons of data that aren’t pertinent while I’m driving down the road.
Drove a new Kenworth t680 but the dash cluster was digital. That both Kenworth and Peterbuilt have recalls on. Good reason as it kept freezing up lol... Hopefully they have found the solution to them. I'm now driving for a company that has 2019 Columbia gliders. Won't lie it's kinda nicer in some ways but the new trucks still have them beat in comfort and fuel economy.
I can only speak for the 5700XE. Sadly, DTNA has discontinued this model. The 49X does not look as good aesthetically IMO, but if I get a chance to look one over, I’ll definitely report back.
I actually had to go back and re-watch. It’s just the LED backlighting - runs on alternating current and the camera picks it up. You can’t see it with the human eye. Same thing happens with other LEDs. Give it a try, it’s pretty cool.
Well we are in suspenders here!! (lol). How did you make out? Here's hoping you are not still in the hotel!! Great videos. Keep them coming! (subscribed)
I know! It’s been crazy the last few months and haven’t had time. The truck DID get fixed. But then a few days later the visor over the cab rattled itself loose and flew off on the freeway. Took them over a month to get all the parts. Now I have a crack in the drivers side windshield panel that needs to get fixed. I will see if I can get one more video pushed out here soon before years’ end.
I’m right here. Care to address me directly instead of talk shit thinking I’m not gonna see and call you out? I’m VERY curious to know what you mean by “junked it out”. Are you referring to the fact that I keep personal possessions in my truck? Also, “dirty backwood people”? I’d really love an explanation on THIS one.
The biggest problem with these downspeed speced automated trucks is that they are no where the efficiency producer that the manufacturers pretend them to be. I hate the 9 and 10 speed manual transmissions companies insist on putting in their trucks, and I despise all automated transmissions equally.
I wholeheartedly agree. The Peterbilt I was in was so gutless. I drove one of the new Cascadias and you can absolutely tell there is a massive power difference between shifting your own gears and letting a lazy computer do it for you. That said, I also drove a Mack Anthem recently and was actually impressed with the acceleration and shifting…but the inside panel layout and controls were abhorrent. Video on that coming soon!
@@curseofthegreat as of 2020 DD15 engines no longer have an 18:1 static compression ratio, the new engines 21:1 which is the main reason why the top power spec has been raised from 505/1750 hp/tq to 505/1850.
I need to get the WTF clips from you for work ... At least you remembered the order having been made and applied a little initiative to overcome the inertia and other impediments. I've had to do stuff like that, so I know it when I see it.
Yeah, it was a stroke of genius moment, which is usually the best type of stroke. Anything else is less than ideal and may be harmful to your health, please consult with your doctor.
I'm running the same truck. How do you find the seats? Personally hate them. My only real dislike. 505 18 auto shift (not my choice) getting 5.5 usually grossing 132000.
Remind me my truck from 1992, just small display between analog on dash. I can't believe it in 2020 split windscreen, not have a full roller screen in front of windscreen, where are USB ports, satnav.
