Will you be demonstrating how to make this lamp following the instructions? I think it’s a brilliant kit and as I have never made a lamp before I’d be very interested if you could demonstrate the difference between making your own lamp from scratch (the lead & assembly work involved etc) vs using this model you show here. These could be a whole series of videos that would be fascinating for someone like myself whose first interest in stained glass was always lamps. Im sure there are many others also interested to learn this process.

What was faster, hand foiling or using the glass star and do you still have the glass star in stock?
@glasscrafters3602
@glasscrafters3602 2 месяца назад
Hand foiling is certainly faster, that is after just a bit of practice. The Glastar foiler is no longer available since Glastar closed suddenly a few years ago. We currently have the KWC Table Foiler on-hand. This is an excellent tool to help new glass crafters with their foiling.

Stay away from any guy who "hammers" handy hangers into a near finished piece and makes a jig out of horse shoe nails.

Thank you so much for this series of videos. I just started stain glass today and your videos were extremely helpful especially with all the tips. I'd say, watching the very end (which I only watched after finishing my piece) that the sodering has definitely been my least favorite part lol

This woman is a teacher, you can absolutely tell. She was absolutely aware of things you might wonder and solved the doubts while she worked. That is empathizing with your students or public. I hope more people would explain so neatly 😊! The only question I have is how do you apply the black patina on the solder lines, what product is it?

@diamondcuttingblade
@diamondcuttingblade Год назад
which size of blade use?
@gsean561
@gsean561 Год назад
The Taurus 3 uses a 5-3/4” diameter ring blade. If you order a Gemini Taurus 3 Ring Blade it will be this size; there are not any other sizes for this saw.
@gsean561
@gsean561 Год назад
The standard Gryphon C-40 Diamond Band Saw Blade is 37” long. There is a tall version of this saw that uses a 42” long blade, so be careful to get the right length blade for your saw.
