As ridiculous as the Rita stuff was, here we see how well Linda Evans plays. She has absolutely none of Krystle's usual attitude. She perfectly plays someone who plays Krystle and who feels very uncomfortable doing so. That's a pretty serious level of acting ability.
Emma Samms is a fine actor. Her courage to step into a role well established by Pamela Sue Martin is commendable. And her performances as Fallon were actually very good. She was great at commanding emotion. But this recast gave fans of the first 5 seasons (the fans who took this show to number 1) a huge middle finger. And thats why it didnt work. It broke neccesary continuity. The writers/producers finally made her resemble original, sassy Fallon in season 9 which only proved they could have done it all along.
Pamela Sue Martin brought that 70's earthy girl next door beauty and fire to the show. But more importantly, it was her 🔥🔥🔥 chemistry with John James' Jeff Colby that was never ever matched after Emma Samms came onboard as the replacement Fallon.
In one of Joan's autobiographies, I think it was "Second Act," she said that Heather learned how to play Amanda on MP by remembering how Joan had played Alexis.
It sounds to me like Alexis was rather on the cheapskate side when it came to buying herself some peace and getting her sister out of her life which is what she wanted all along!
