Everyone always talked about the way Joan looked as Alexis. (with good reason. She looked stunning; yet comic and absurd.) But little attention was ever paid to just how superb Joan’s acting is.
Imran Shaukat She was intentionally over the top. That's what i meant. She and the costume designer deliberately made her looks larger-than-life, outrageous, super-dramatic. She couldn't have been more overly-dressed for "just another day at the office " (or anywhere else for that matter) even if she tried. And she pulled it off and looked stunning because she's Joan. Who else could've pulled this off? Now that's why she was BOTH absurd AND ICONIC. I mean... who dresses like that? In that sense she WAS (intentionally) outrageous AND absurd
I know what some are thinking, "Go ahead Blake just tell her where the old man is so she can visit him before he dies" But Alexis had a way of taking anything and turning it into a 5 alarm fire. She's such a destructive force EVEN when she's trying NOT TO BE.
She turned it into a 5 alarm fire because he was being punitive, telling her that he didn't grant her PERMISSION to visit her own father in law on his deathbed..yet Bake, who obviously hates the man, gets the privilege to go see him.
My issue with the original "Dynasty" was that it always painted Alexis as the spoiled, wicked ex wife whilst never calling Blake out for being a distant, inattentive husband who was too wrapped up in his work to spend time with his wife or children.. Granted Alexis was flawed whilst Blake's faults and shortcomings get glossed over.....

Yes... No one deserves having a cheating spouse, but they do create the situations often times.... ignoring, being emotionally aloof and cold is not a good recipe for a long marriage. Alexis was screwed over by being isolated from he children.
+Dan Tee Not to mention both of them were so damn violent. Krystle always beat on Alexis, Blake strangled her and he killed his son's boyfriend. Now, in this scene, he won't let Alexis see a dying friend? Alexis was just straightforward, those nuts were just as bad.

The Remake of Dynasty is a JOKE , the acting is so poor, you can't repeat Perfection, it was a Time to be loved not relived by 3rd rate if that oars, trying to be the Real characters, that made Dynasty...... ONLY ONE ALEXIS, KRYSTAL, BLAKE, and the rest of the wonderful cast.
Right they had some unfinished business however I believe he truly was in love when he got with Krystal because she was all about him and he her(trust is strong)☺️☺️☺️✌🏾
It is dangerous to hear Alexis talking to people like that, you want to imitate her and tell some one off in the same manner, she is fabulous totally in control wicked and so very beautiful, only Joan Collins could play that part no one else in the world.
Alexis lives on that energy lol. I don't think she'd know what to do with herself if she wasn't scheming, conniving, manipulating, or stewing with anger lol.

I,m tryin to notice african garb, i don't see it. That is in my opinion truly disgusting to incorporate race into this otherwise dramatic scene. What would your response have been had she been sitting there in a bed sheet?
I keep reading all of these comments that is referring her clothes to Africa. There is absolutely nothing she's wearing that screams African garb. If you notice when she's sitting her skirt and shoes matches some colors in her coat, which is very stylish by the way and a matching head wrap, it would not have been considered African had she wore one of her hats. I didn't see Queen Zulu, you people should take another look.
Alexis's huge productions and theatrics had no effect on Blake. lol. His look of annoyance was like , " Bitch, are you finish ? I gotta , read this last line here ".
Usually even if the look was dated Joan would rock it right out of the park. But let’s be honest that hair scarf is ugly even by the 80s standards. Joan is stunning, but I refuse to believe that there was no one on the set that day who was foaming at the mouth to get rid of the hair scarf.
Father? lol Tom Carrington looked the same age exactly as Blake was. Actors looked the same age also. Again, bad casting age wise. Many shows do this figuring the audience wont notice
This was always a difficult storyline to believe. John was in his mid 60’s and his father was still alive? The actors both looked like they were the same age. lol 😂 Also, he didn’t know about Adam coming back or that Fallon was presumably dead? Hmm 🤔
Other than Alexis cheating on Blake, what else did she do that was so awful? Seems like they were holding back on Blake. I love good vs bad, but in shows like this, we need gray characters; real, never always good or bad.
