I didn't think it was particularly hard. I'm an OK skiier but not a great one, but I got down without too much trouble. It's certainly easier than off-piste. Also, the hardest parts are all at the top so it gets progressively easier as you go down. It's a great run though, and probably the hardest black run that I've gone down.
Crash - edging the whole way not carving. Good job though - handled the bumps well. And this is hard pack (actually seems like re-freeze) - real ice is blue.
Damn, this is a blast from the past! I was a qualified Grass Skiing instructor in my mid-teens back at the start of the 1980s in Ashton Park in Bristol on the hill above the Mansion. Occasionally, when I could get a lift, I would also go to the slope in Usk in Gwent or Butser Hill. Somewhere in the spare room I still have the first pair of Rollka grass skis with the 4cm build up (which made them run faster) :-)
OK daredevils let's see someone try s Flexible Flyer on this trail- YES the steel runner "Steerable" Flexible Flyer and just see WHO can survive the entire run without losing control of the sled as it gets up to OVER 125 mph..... I know-- it's not going to ever be allowed BUT what if someone was permitted to try this???😊 It's their funeral, or is it???😊
I love your videos. I’m 63 years old and I used to be an obsessed and avid skier. The last time I skied was in 2008 because in early 2009 I was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease and because of it I haven’t been able to ski since. Your videos have given the ability to ski once more albeit it via the I Pad. God Bless and keep up the great work
@loujay50 thank you for your kind message. I am sorry to learn of your diagnosis. I didn’t do many videos this year but a lot of skiing. I will be sure to post more next winter you have inspired me. “You are not in the mountains the mountains are in you” John muir
Thank you I live in Melbourne Australia and our ski fields are nothing when compared to yours. We’ve had a very cold winter and our fields have managed to get some decent snow. I am looking forward to your next video and snow adventures. God bless
Nice run. No black diamonds, tho. At least, not from where I ski, Squaw Valley., USA. There is a similar run at Snowmass, very long but not as steep. You go from one side to the other across the entire resort.
This is some serious clickbait, or do you actually believe that speedometer reading to be accurate? LOL. Obviously it was malfunctioning, as you weren't even close 110 km/h when the reading said so. In reality you were going around 60 km/h at that point.
I did a season in Val as a ski rep/guide and this run at the end of the day was always a killer for tired legs! Its hard to imagine the pros just straight lining it back in the day.
Used to ski a lot and now i have a meh physical condition but i don't see anything hard here, especially with this snow (not the easiest but def an easy one, it's not ice). Did this again last year and it was fine but like i said i have a poor physical condition now and need more stop. It's maybe a bit physical but def. not hard, not even close.
