Welcome to the channel for people who are interested in the more urban side of things. I rush around the country while thoroughly exploring it at the same time. There only one rule, if you subscribe watch every new video all the way through.
I've just subscribed as a way of keeping in touch with my home country. I like the collabs with Dylan, but maybe you could involve him a bit more? Don't let him appear as some kind of (NOT "kinda") hanger-on, his comments are always interesting.
Hi, thanks for watching, I have no idea when Dylan will be back. It’s quite difficult to film all of our interactions because we quite often have conversations in between shots. Kinda is a shortened version of “kind of” and if you don’t like it have nothing else to say to you.
The "rusty steel" (which is what it is) is sheet piling, driven in by a tower piledriver to stabilise the riverbank. It goes between 3 - 6 metres into the ground. The bottom 3 - 4 m are foundation, the top 1 - 2 m are retaining wall, stopping the riverbank from slumping into the Severn and thus being gradually washed away. The big rocks in front of the sheet piles disperse the water's energy, further reducing its tendency to wash the bank away.
The bridge is spectacular, and the river looks huge! Another very interesting video. I hope you managed to keep your trainers nice and clean! Maybe it would be worth investing in some boots for you explorations, especially with the long winter ahead of us??
Another great video, Arthur…well done. Have you watched Ludwig on BBC…set in Cambridge. How about a Ludwig locations video ? Not sure if Cambridge is near you….but maybe worth thinking about. 👍
It's always good to do something different and go for a walk off the beaten track, so to speak! Not a good idea to walk over those rocks though unless you have the right footwear 😱. The bridge looks awesome. I've never been across it. I love Devon, so any videos from there would always be welcome! I notice you often correct yourself or clarify things you've said, which is no bad thing of course! Yes, I'll be sure to supply you with some more coffee when I can. Look after yourself when you're out and about! ~ Steve
00:54 That appears to be Heidelberg Materials Cement depot Avonmouth dock. It’s good that you still took the trip, it worked out fine, the low dark clouds help give the video and location atmosphere as we move into Autumn.
Radioactive water: I lived in Morecambe for a while, I was told that the warm water from the Heysham nuclear power station acted like a hot water bottle and kept the town warmer than it would otherwise be.
Brilliant video! Every city and town has it unique look. Tesco trains! Wye Bridge constructed in 1490! Your filming is getting better and better.. Like many YTers, you eventually find your niche. Are you interested in history, architecture? or exploring? Thanks for sharing!
Brilliant video! I think the British seaside have a distinctive if not touristy look that is hard to duplicate, new combined with old. Here in the states people think it is tacky, but I like the charm of the eclectic architecture. For photography these places have it all! As always thanks for sharing and continued success in your travels!
Thanks for watching. Dylan’s been allowed to travel on he’s own for a few years now which is quite scary. I only travel with a Dylan or family and I certainly wouldn’t be comfortable on my own.
Nice looking town. It seemed very quiet in parts. I think the bridge is just called the Wye Bridge. The old Black & white house looked interesting. I wonder what that gun was you passed? I'm glad Dylan went round that lamp post and not right into it! Lol.
Hereford centre looks nice, shame you couldn’t see inside the Black & White Jacobean house, free entry for students/children accompanied with a fee paying person, although you would have been pushed for time catching the train.
