Sheffield is completely different to how I imagined it! The resemblance to its title of the ‘steel city’ is very clear as well, your video has proved that! Great one as always, looking forward to the next one👍
Thanks!! I’m in Milton Keynes film at the and I’m not too happy about what I’ve filmed but I have a great idea about how to improve it. I’m in Canary Wharf tomorrow so I’m very excited for that.
@@urban-UK Uh-Oh, you've vlogged the city I live in. You've gone from steel city to concrete city. Avoid Netherfield and Fullers Slade estates, most of Bletchley too. Even the locals are afraid of those places...!
You missed the cathedral. I think if you turned right after the one you thought was the cathedral you'd have come across it. Also behind it is an area called Paradise Square. It has some interesting Georgian buildings and it was an area used for public meetings.
Personally i wouldn't both visiting Sheffield No retail and its slowly becoming a housing estate Want to go see a concert? You'll have to go to leeds abd Manchester for that Sheffield arena doesnt book bands abd tge sexond largest venue is cuty hall but its a bit too small to bring in the big names The only retail is meadowhall out of town
Sheffield has spent bundles on decent new architecture, the public transport is exceptional, and the people lovely. I went to Hallam uni - it was dire in the 80s, but looks great now, I think I'll visit. Nice.
Thanks for watching! It’s good to see these real discussions between viewers happen! I suppose it depends on your experience with Sheffield. Thanks again!
Thanks for doing this. A couple of points. 1/ It’s ok to say a building is interesting but you didn’t explain why. An assertion without explanation has no value. 2/ You didn’t sum up what you thought of the city at the end: the good, the bad, what you liked and didn’t like and what the city could do to improve or what other city’s can learn from Sheffield. Thanks for coming.
@@urban-UK nowhere in my comment did I even imply that "I'm your boss!" And how did you come to the conclusion that I think this video is for me? Your response to my post makes no sense. Deal with what I actually said rather than trying to read into something that's only in your head and which bares no relation to my comment. My comment was meant to help you self reflect to see what you could do to make your videos better by being more informative. Better analysis and scepticism of your own thoughts is what's required to give your videos more substance and greater validation. Good luck for the future.
@@urban-UK He wasnt *telling* you to do anything. I agree with the commenter, adding those points would have made the video better, the ending felt abrupt. Anyway, I enjoyed the rest of it
@@urban-UK I also agree with the commenter. He is probably hinting that a bit of background research before the video would make the video more informative. Anyway, thanks, boss, for a nice video.
You certainly get around! I think Sheffield still produces steel, which is good. The Winter Gardens looks appealing and I liked the water feature. I don't think that was Sheffield Cathedral, but nvm. I know how tiring it can be walking around cities!
Sheffield has two cathedrals. That was the Roman Catholic one. The old one is near the tram at the far end of...Fargate. There really is a lot to see in Sheffield. Being near the Peak District it's really good for outdoor activities.
Hi brother (If I may?) I see that you have put a great effort on this journey and video to share what you saw and experienced with us. Thank you so much for that. Probably about 40-45 days later I will settle in Sheffield to study philosophy master in Sheffield University. I wanted to say your video made me even more motivated to go and explore the steel city. What are your thoughts about it? Do you think Sheff is a good choice of city to live in?
Hi, thanks for your comment, I definitely think Sheffield is a great city to explore. If you go early in morning I think it can get really calm. I recommend you watch Steve Marsh’s videos on Sheffield because he’s the one who inspired me to go in the first place. Good luck on your master and thanks for your support!!
To be fair I think it has less than a lot of places. Some estates in the bigger cities like Birmingham and loads down south make Parsons cross and pitsmoor seem ok.
Thanks. I did actually try to get there when I was in Sheffield but it was too far away. I had quite risky day in terms of trains so I had to careful. Good suggestion though. I will 100% go next time I’m in Sheffield.
