The Garage Band I was played with when I was 16! Sounded and was better than this ?!? Whatever this is suppose to be.And we had a lead singer.Really!:!
I remember seeing Hot Tuna on one of the late night music programs on the early 1970s. I think it was In Concert. They played Johns Other, the first song from the first album. It was a great live performance. I bought the album and listened to it for years. But it was stolen and I could never find another one.
My dad was born in Watsonville (May, 1954) and spoke about these guys once or twice. My dad passed away over 20 years ago and I can still hear him talk about this music. I miss him and this real good music.
I've heard this song 300+ times and know it by heart but this is the FIRST time I've actually seen Quicksilver perform. They're not at all what I had pictured.
The Southwest Louisiana Drummer, Singer, and Bandleader Camille Bob better known as “Lil’ Bob” fronted his band the Lollipops and they are the originators of this tune. Lil’ Bob passed away in 2015 but he added greatly to the culture of Louisiana Swamp Pop and Soul Music of the 1960s. What a fantastic song. Check out Lil’ Bob’s other tunes.
What's that? Is that real music by real musicians? Holy crap...chord structure, inflection, clarity of melody and talent behind the instrument...so what's it like to suck so much in music in 2024? Oh yea...gold ..simply gold
I had forgotten that Hot Tuna was really Jefferson Airplane until I saw Jorma in this video. If Grace hadn't gotten sick there would have never been a Hot Tuna. To keep Hot Tuna together after Grace got well and could perform again was great. They even opened for Airplane. Jorma, Katner and Casady back as Airplane band members of course. Even Marty Balin sang with Tuna a bit. Marty, very underrated front man.
