Limp Buiscuit did what they do the best they could. The festival didn't do anything the best they could. In fact they did the worst job imaginable on all fronts of a festival.
@@johnstallings4049 I did after your suggestion, and I loved it. Woodstock 99' lineup was much bigger than I new (I didnt even know that Counting Crows played there until recently). Thanks buddy!
Yeah….. the good ole days….saw ‘em at The Next Stage Theatre in Sun Valley, ID….for my first show! Way back in’98 or ‘99….can’t remember….then again at a Winter show at the Elkhorn Resort, in ID….next to Sun Valley! SPECTACULAR🌈‼️ Especially after Jerry had passed….searching for the sound…..feeling our way! Thank God for SCI! Thank you for sharing your gifts with the world!
Trevor Clark yea they went downhill after Hann unfortunately. Saw them 50 times from 2000-2002. Awesome years, they were really on fire. All they ever needed was Travis
Different times. Before Bill played electric. They were a different animal then, Travis was/is a super talented mutant. At least Hann fits right in with his style.
Closed minded cheese/ex cheese heads... taking chances means always expanding beyond the current norm. Good riddance, more room for the rest of us :tips hat:
That mosh pit at 34:00 tho... :D Was wondering how Missin Me could be 25 minutes.. Blue Sky tease, a couple seconds of Smile, then at about 42:00 we get San Jose.
I'm dying laughing at the thought of some stooge loosing teeth in the cheese pit. Wow. I needed that. Thank you for the pointer. I found them right around this time.... Round we go. Peace friend! I remember thinking this was an MTV thing. I knew of moe and was looking... Bisco this time too.. and Strangfolk
My first show was I believe 2 years after this in Sedona, Az. That venue was one of my all time favorite spots but unfortunately it’s gone. They do have a cool amphitheater in Flagstaff out in the woods which I was able to see the boys there in 06, I actually lived about a mile away so caught come rad shows. Northern Arizona is pretty sweet it’s a diamond in the rough, good times!
I just saw the Netflix documentary. It calls Friday "Day 1" and says that James Brown opened the whole thing. And Wikipedia lists Thursday as "pre-show". This looks pretty official to me though. Can anyone explain how these terms are defined? :)
Don’t go by that documentary. Listen to Podcast ‘99 if you want a deep dive into who actually started the party vibes. Some acts weren’t televised the day before Day 1-call it Day 0. Day O’s first televised group was 3rd Bass. George Clinton played on both Day 1 and Day 0-this performance was a birthday celebration. But many “emerging artists” were never filmed and the internet has no record of them, such as the band In Bloom. The first on-camera assault against a woman happens during Strangefolk on Day 0, even though for the most part Day 0 was free of the disgusting frat pig-men who committed assault and shouted “Show me your t--!” constantly. Day 0 was the hippie “Woodstock” day vibe and the days following were…something else.
@@benjaminjoplin4991 You described Woodstock very well 99) Many bands were not broadcast on TV. As I understand it, only a few bands got on Day 0 on the record, namely: 3rd bass, Vertical Horizon, Strangefolk, The String Cheese Incident and Bernie Worrell and The Woo Warriors. There is also an amateur recording of the first performance at Woodstock Frostbite Blue, I found it on RU-vid. Indeed it was an amazing weekend despite the consequences after) I think this is a historic event that will not happen again for sure, so many talents on one weekend! They just tore up all the festivals before, despite the fact that there were different genres of music, from rap to thrash metal. I love Woodstock 99, I watched all available live performances from the 22nd to the 25th. Probably I will review all these records again, some are already available in 4K resolution.
dude I know, and this is what happens when you have major music festivals with a bunch of mainstream bands and try to suck people dry with outrageous vendor prices and no chance to bring your own food and water.
